How do I set Sync on my mac? It's running OS10.4 & Ff 3.6.22

I've set up Sync on my Windows 7 PC and now I want to sync it with my Mac.
The mac runs OS10.4 with Firefox 3.6.22 (being the latest available), but Firefox does not have the Sync option available in Options (Preferences, as it is on the Mac).
So, can I sync my Mac and my PC? If so, how?

I found out what was wrong. It's an ad-on. SoThink Web Video Downloader Not that it is faulty or not compatible, it just keeps a cache of EVERYTHING you visit that is flash. Not just the flash that you download, but any flash on any site you visit. Mine was huge, I emptied it, and the problem stopped.

You can upload them from Mac to iCloud and then download on the iPad. They only directly sync between iOS devices. The Mac version of Pages has more options that are not available on iOS. If you use a font that is not available on iOS it will change the font. Some layout options aren't available either.

how can i install icloud to my mac which is running on Mac OS X version 10.6.8 ?

You must first upgrade to 10.7.5 or later.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • How would I set up a second mac just for work?

I already have a Mac Pro, I now have an employers mac air.  How should I set up the second machine for work only?  Different mac ID, etc.

You really don't want to do that, operate an iPad with 2 different ID's.
I'm presuming you have a work iPad and you want to put some non work bought apps on it. You will have issues, like half the iPad not working while the other half does.
Probably not something you want to explain to your IT department.

  • How do you set up VPN on Mac from information that's only from a Windows computer?

My workplace only supports setting up VPN on my Windows computer, but not my Mac, and I would love to access VPN from my Mac as well.
I am running Mountain Lion on my Mac and Windows 7 on my PC.

You will need to know what type of VPN they use, L2TP/IPsec and PPTP or a proprietary one.
With that information there are lots of guides on how to set up the L2TP and PPTP on the web, usually they are for a commercial VPN supplier but you would need to put your companies info into the correct boxes in System Preferences/Network.
If it is proprietary, go to the makers web site and see if here is a suitable client to download and use, again enter your companies info into that software.
There is also Open VPN client that may work.
One thing to be aware of is that some companies forbid any connection to their system unless using approved software.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You must first have purchased, installed and registered .a Mac package.
Then launch Mail, open the Preferences… dialog, and press the Accounts tab. Click the + button in the lower left corner, select Account Type: .Mac and fill in the required information.

  • How do I resolve sync issues between mac address book and iPhone

I have iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1) and OSX Lion, ITunes 10.6 and use iCloud.
In Itunes I do not have 'Sync Contacts ticked' as it says my Contacts are being synced over the air. If I put contacts on either device then they do not sync with the other devise.
If I do tick this box then my iPhone contacts duplicate but the contacts on Address book that are not on iPhone do not transfer and contacts on iPhone do not go to address book!
Any ideas with any settings etc. that I can do to resolve this. It all used to work fine before iCloud but even after turning iCloud off this no longer works.

I had the same problem.  The following link solved my problem, in particular "Step 5".  The regestry entries did the job.  I think there is a problem with the iTunes 64-bit installer.

  • How much to spend on a USED Mac that will run GarageBand?

Friends of mine are looking to buy GarageBand as a Christmas present. But they need a Mac, too. They know nothing about Apple products. I know *this much* more <hold fingers about 1/4" apart> than they do, but enough to ask here.
I know they could buy any new iMac and they'd be fine, but:
    1) What would be the minimum system they should look for?
    2) How much could they expect to pay (reasonably) for it?
I found these specs on Apple's website, but not knowing Apple products, it doesn't help me too much:
    * Intel dual-core processor
    * 1 GB or more RAM
    * Older PowerPC G5 and G4 computers will not be able to play back as many tracks
    * PowerPC G4 and G5 computers will benefit greatly from having > 1 GB RAM
    Thanks.

It really depends on the version of GB you want to run.
IF they already have a monitor and keyboard, a mini will do fine too. Apple has pretty good deals on refurbished items. I have had good luck with them:
