How do I set the 3G to SEND e-mail through G-Mail?

Hi,
We went to the Apple store and the folks there set my wife's 3G iPhone up for a G-MAIL IMAP account which seems to work if I send an e-mail to her new G-mail account... but if I try to SEND an outgoing message using MAIL on the 3G it does not work. What else needs to be configured?... or is it just a one way thing?

It should not be necessary to use the ATT server, because Gmail setup works perfectly.
smtp host name = smtp.gmail.com
User name = [email protected] (don't forget the @gmail.com bit)
Use SSL = ON
Authentication = Password
Server port 587
All these things got set up pretty well by themselves (other than the ones only I know such as password) by simpy selecting gmail from the options panel when setting up a new server.
For each mail account, you can set up multiple smtp servers. This is where the AT&T server comes in handy.
By adding the AT&T SMTP server (Just set it ON, all other settings are there already) you can have a backup for when your main outgoing server is down. (Be advised this can make your mail look sort of spammy to many spam filters - smtp domain not = your email domain).
BY THE WAY: You will be much happier if you go into your Gmail settings and enable Imap. That way Gmail is consistent everywhere with regard to folders and contents. (Imap is much preferred in all accounts, so much so, that I won't use my lame comcast Pop account at all).

Hi Jaime,
Are you saying, you are getting junk characters in the email attachment? Then pls check the following. Since you want to send Japanese fonts, please pass language 'J' in both objpack-obj_langu = '3' & doc_chng-obj_langu = '3' instead of '3' please replace it with 'J'.
Another thing which you may have to check is the SCOT device type. As I understand from my basis colleague, this may also affect your attachment fonts since the emails are sent through SCOT. Go to transaction SCOT-> Settings-> Device types for format conversion. Check whether wrong device type is defined for Japanese there. Hope this helps

You can't
Expunge is something done by the client, not by the server, even the actual action is handled by the server.
Perhaps I'm not understanding what it is you're looking for. Expunge is a specific IMAP command. . .

It's preset by some phone software but you still may have some sound settings for the answer time. Go to settings and check under call answer settings.

This question isn't related to Mozilla Firefox. However, I can still answer your question. In the 'to' field, put your own e-mail address and put each recipient's address in the BCC field. This way the only address seen is your own.

How do I set the quality of a "save to pdf" or "mail pdf" ?

I have created a document (say, in Pages, MS Word, or Apple Works/Claris Works [yes, that is still an excellent programme..., even on an intel Mac] and then want to save it as pdf or " mail pdf".
If the document page has many pictures, the pdf created via the "Print" function in OS X has quite some pixelation and the print-out is sub-optimal (eg for a Christmas/New Year card).
Is there a way that the quality of the created pdf file can be altered?

Audition's native recording and processing format is 32 bit floating. This allows for the most accurate processing of your audio. You cannot set it to record at 24 bit depth. However a 24 bit source is happily stored in the 32 bit format when you record from an external 24 bit audio interface.
If you need to save 24 bit files for use after you have finished editing them then you choose 24 bit from the Options drop down in the Save As panel when you save the file.

As the question asks, how can I set the program to automatically add new email address from messages to my address book. Other email programs can be set up to do this. If this can't be done in Firefox, why not. It's the best email program otherwise.

First off Firefox is an Internet browser and does not deal with email addresses or have an address book to add them to. Secondly I cannot think of a good reason to add the address of each piece of spam to the Thunderbird address book.
There are addons that will pick out addresses from incoming email and add them to the Thunderbird address book. I suggest you search through the add on list for one that fits your needs.

Here the way to do it, for both, or for only one Go into your settings, Messages and turn on iMessage. It will then send messages that are iMessages to both your iPad and iPhone. You can also turn off this feature on the iPad if you do not want to receive messages on the iPad.

The currency in currently defaulting to $. Where is the setting to alter this so we can have UK pounds instead? The data has been entered in GBP.

Thank you Esther, but, following your steps, when I get to Select Currency, there are no symbols to select. There is just a generic symbol, which means it will pick whichever currency is defaulted. All I can do is tick or untick the 'Use' box.
Do you have an e-mail address I can send a printscreen to?
