How do I set up a used 3gs?

I bought an iphone 3GS and would like to replace my android phone with it. The phone is only letting me open the keypad for emergency calls. How do I get to a screen that will let me get started? None of the buttons or touch screen seem to do anything other than the touch screen slide to open the keypad and the home button turns on the screen, I am on thge AT&t net work with another carrier. Neither sim does any good. I am sure that you already know, I know nothing about apple. Thank you for any info.

I already have set FF to No Proxy. This made FF work again, but not any of my other internet programs, programs that don't have the option to set to no proxy, they rely on the system settings. So I need to know how to reset my system settings back to their default values. This will allow all my net progs to access the net again, including FF using the Use System Settings option. Since FF has an option to use system settings, this is a somewhat FF related question. I need to get all my net programs working again, not just FF! And, if my system settings are restored, FF will work using the system settings, and all my other progs will work too.

Perhaps if apple didn't take back prores LT this wouldn't be as much of an issue.
Pores LT was a great compromise between file size and quality. It produced a fine image for most peoples needs and was 30% smaller.
Hopefully it will be returned soon. I can't imagine why it's not already there. Unless they want to charge for it, ... again..
Have you tried capturing as full res, then change prefs back to proxy, open a new project and import the full res files?
In FCP7 the render pref was separate from the capture pref. is that gone too?
If my idea doesn't work, Surely someone will chime in with a creative work around to this.
And hopefully it'll get fixed soon in an update.

The problem is, I tried to update it from iOS 6.1 to 6.1.3 and after I had to go through restoring it to factory default settings, it would not allow me to set it up as there was an issue with the SIM card and its pin. Is there any way for me to make it start working again?

How do I set up and use IIS 7.5 in Windows 7

I just bought a new machine and installed Windows 7 RC Ultimate and CS4 on it.
I set up IIS (or at least I think I did) and Inetpub now shows in the directory listing, so it should be there.
Only problem is that I cannot save any files to any site in the Inetpub directory even when logged in as administrator.
I have to manage lots of web sites that use asp, and so need to have the Inetpub facility.
Setting up IIS in Windows 7 is poorly documented, and seems quite complex.
The instructions on Microsoft's technet site for accessing IIS do not work, and so I am at a loss.
Am I to assume that the normal Dreamweaver method of storing files in inetpub/wwwroot/sitefolder is no longer valid?
Whether or not, can anyone tell me how to set up a site in windows 7 that will run an asp site using IIS?

Run the following command from an elevated command prompt (right click the "command prompt" icon and select "Run as Administrator").
icacls %systemdrive%\inetpub /grant %userdomain%\%username%:(OI)(CI)(F) /grant %userdomain%\%username%:F
This command will add full access for your user account to the INETPUB directory.
Now the Administrator privileges which you don't have don't matter anymore because your account and not Administrators grant you access.
How obscure can you get?
I assume that changing the folder name from inetpub to whatever other folder you need to access will have the same effect.
All I have to sort out now is how to get the F12 key on my wireless keyboard to run a file when pressed in Dreamweaver - but that is another problem.

How should I set GPG to use with KMail or even rather Thunderbird?

In the last 3 hours I tried to set Thunderbird (Enigmail) and KMail to use my GPG key. I failed.
I made the keypairs with Kgpg, installed enigmail, restarted the Thunderbird, set everything, but TB didn't asked for password, only gave an error message that it can't use gpg in batch mode and the password is wrong:

I read a lot and all I found is that I have to disable the use of gpg-agent in Enigmail's settings, but it was alredy disabled, despite I got this message:
"Your system uses gpg-agent or a similar tool for passphrase handling (gpg-agent is mandatory if GnuPG v2.0 or later is used). Since caching of passphrases is handled by gpg-agent, the respective timeout settings in OpenPGP are disregarded. In order to change passphrase caching options, please configure your gpg-agent tool."
After many pages I gave up, it seems it cannot be solved.
So I tried KMail. But KMail didn't ask password, too. Google, searching. I found that I should install pinentry-qt. Well, pinentry is already installed and I have pinentry, pinentry-qt and pinentry-qt4, too. So I searched for another solution. Then I found that I should use gpg-agent (I used it already according to Thunderbird) and I have to write use-agent to .gnupg/gpg.conf. It was already there. Then I found that I have to make a file, .gnupg/gpg-agent.conf whit this content:
pinentry-program /usr/bin/pinentry-qt4
no-grab
default-cache-ttl 1800
So I made it. After this I add the eval "$(gpg-agent --daemon)" to my .xinitrc, as it was written in many posts. I logged out and in. Still no luck.
The gpg-agent in terminal says:
gpg-agent: gpg-agent running and available
I tried a test I found on forums: echo "test" | gpg -ase -r 0xDEADBEEF | gpg. It says:
1024-bit RSA key, ID CFF2728D, created 2011-05-17 (main key ID CD35B00C)
gpg: problem with the agent -disabling agent use.
Then it asks the passphrase. I type it in, but then a message appears that I didn't have any public key.
I tried to disable gpg-agent, but didn't helped. Thunderbird said:
"can't connect to `/tmp/gpg-y2XPqU/S.gpg-agent': Kapcsolat elutasítva
gpg: Nem tudok kapcsolódni "/tmp/gpg-y2XPqU/S.gpg-agent" objektumhoz: connect failed" - connection refused. Can't connect to /tmp... object.
KMail simply says bad passphrase.
So. How can I use GPG? What should I do, how should I start? Is it possible at all? I just wanted to sign and encrypt e-mails. It seemed very easy.

You must unlock your phone by entering its passcode (if any), then go to Settings/Bluetooth. In the car you must enable Pairing mode (check the manual for the car). When the two see each other you may have to enter a pairing passcode, but this should be displayed in the car. For most hands-free pairing the passcode will be "0000", but you should check the car's manual.

On my wife's computer we have OS X Lion.
She has two email accounts loaded on Mail, using IMAP. These are Gmail accounts. I will refer to them as account #1 and #2
In iCal she has calendars loaded from Gmail account #1.
We have noticed that all her iCal event reminders are being sen to account #1 using account #2 for the sending. Even though the event is on a Gmail Calendar on account #1.
She has no calendars loaded from account #2 (as she does not use calendars on that Gmail account).
Neither of us can figure out why or who iCal is sending out reminders via her second gmail account, for appointments set in the calendar of her #1 email account. We can not see why logically iCal and/or Mail is linking these accounts in this way.
We'd like to have it so that the reminders are only sent using account #1.
Can anyone tell me how or why this is occurring, and what I can do about it?

If you are referring to your "iCloud account", then simply tap "settings / iCloud" - delete the account you are currently logged in with, and add the correct one.

You don't need the background image -- you supply THAT in FCPX. Just work the text effect and publish it.

How to globally set WiFi to use device management identity certificate for all users?

I'm using Apple's Profile Management service in Mountain Lion, and discovered through serendipity that an enrolled device can authenticate on EAP-TLS to our WPA2-Enterprise Wifi using the Device Managment Identity Certificate instead of an individually-generated-for-user x509 cert. This is extremely convenient, because then we can effectively revoke a device's cert by unenrolling the device.
However, I haven't been able to figure out how to make WiFi always designate EAP-TLS and select the Device Management Identity Certificate globally (whether through /usr/bin/networksetup or through the Profile Manager).
Does anybody have any pointers on how to do this? My goal is to have an OS X >= 10.7 machine at a network login prompt capable of logging into the machine, authenticated against the Open Directory server the machine is already bound to. At present a wireless user cannot do this, as the machine's Wifi preferences haven't yet been set to use the aforementioned device management cert.

How can I set OWA to use Public by default and hide that section from OWA?

I have an Exchange 2013 deployment that needs a customized OWA page. I've already run Set-OwaVirtualDirectory "ex1\owa*" -LogonPagePublicPrivateSelectionEnabled $True to show the Public option. I've also edited the logon.aspx
file to set the checkbox to be unchecked by default. My problem is I need to hide that entire line, I don't want users to see that section at all as if I never ran the above command. When I was testing hiding it with  it hid it but
caused that piece to stop working as it went back to private. Has anyone been able to accomplish this or can clue me in on how to do this? Thank you in advance.

How do i set up a used iPad with iTunes account

Hi, my friend has recently bought a second hand iPad and has been having problems using it with her iTunes account. She has the latest version installed on her laptop but when the iPad is connected, a window opens to say it cannot be used because it requires iTunes 10.1 or later.
Is it possible to use a second hand device with an existing iTunes account and how do you get the latest version of iTunes on the iPad?

Has she access to another computer with iTunes. If so, attach it to that briefly to see if she gets the same message. If she does not then the problem is iTunes on her own laptop. This can be resolved in two ways. If the iTunes update was recent then do a system restore on the laptop and then update iTunes again. (Be careful that such a restore has not ramifications as regards to new programmes installed in the interim.) Now try connecting again. I'm having trouble getting the "backed up" information from an iphone 3G and putting it on a iphone4. Now, itunes will not let me "set up as a new phone" so I can be prompted to use the "3G info". Your G5 does not require an AirPort Base Station to get Internet access, so any brand wireless router should work just fine.

WRT54G > (wireless) > wireless PC laptops
