How do i set up a used phone in my itunes

I'm having trouble getting the "backed up" information from an iphone 3G and putting it on a iphone4. Now, itunes will not let me "set up as a new phone" so I can be prompted to use the "3G info". I have 3 iphones on my Mac. And My Mother in Law took my Nieces phone that was never set up on my laptop.. Understand.

What do I need to do to make this possible? Telstra are telling me its impossible with a MAC. Someone else told me I need an Airport Base (My iMac does not have an Airport card installed) Ultimately I would like to have a wireless modem connected to an ADSL line or Cable (Foxtel Line) and able to operate all 3 computers in the house.
Your G5 does not require an AirPort Base Station to get Internet access, so any brand wireless router should work just fine.
An example, would be the Linksys WRT54G. In this example, your network configuration would be something like the following:
Foxtel Line > Cable modem > (Ethernet cable) > [Internet port] WRT54G [LAN] > (Ethernet cable) > [Ethernet port] G5, AND
WRT54G > (wireless) > wireless PC laptops

I already have set FF to No Proxy. This made FF work again, but not any of my other internet programs, programs that don't have the option to set to no proxy, they rely on the system settings. So I need to know how to reset my system settings back to their default values. This will allow all my net progs to access the net again, including FF using the Use System Settings option. Since FF has an option to use system settings, this is a somewhat FF related question. I need to get all my net programs working again, not just FF! And, if my system settings are restored, FF will work using the system settings, and all my other progs will work too.

Do you mean iTunes library?
iTunes account is what you use to make iTunes purcahses.
iTunes library is what is on your computer.

No, it tells you it can only be sync'd with one iTunes library.
Simplest way is to copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder (thisis the iTunes library) from old computer to new computer.

As I mentioned earlier, the main time when this becomes an issue is if you need to do something involving associating a computer with a particular AppleID. Careful management of your collection should minimize this situation.

So the first account is really "yours" and you are setting her up with her own account? It helps to know this because if both are "hers" then there isn't an issue with her having full access to both accounts. If in 10 years she moves 2000 miles away and she is pretty much independent then you may not want her to have full access to your AppleID just so she can authorize a device.

I am in the process of getting a second iPhone 5, to help separate my work and personal life. But can't seem to find any information in how to set up a secondary phone.
It will be with the same mobile phone carrier, but will have a different phone number. Am I able to have a secondary phone on the one iTunes account, and if so how do I do it?
Or will,I need to set up separate users on my MacBook Pro, and have another identity to achieve this?

It sounds like the process that you have tried is the correct one, there may be one detail overlooked.
On your phone, have you tried to email your printer ([email protected]), without adding it to your address book yet?

6. Set up as new
Complete the setup assistant. When prompted to set up your device, select Set Up as New iPhone and tap Next to continue.
Skip the Apple ID sign-in, in case the original issue was related to any of your content on iCloud.
Note: After setting up as new, you will need to enter the Visual Voicemail password for iPhone (on carriers that support Visual Voicemail). If you've forgotten the password, contact your carrier to help you reset it.
