How do i set up and ipad for my children using my Itunes account without synching my data from my Iphone? (contacts, calendar, etc
I do not want or need my contacts and calendar on their ipad, but I would like to use my Itunes account...
It's easy enough to do. You can share one Apple ID and have your own content on each iPad. You do not have to have the same apps, music, books and so on. Set up the iPad with your Apple ID for purchases. If you want the kids to have their own iCloud accounts so that they can FaceTime and Message you can do that as well. However you do not have to setup additional Apple ID's in order to do that, it just makes it a little easier,
Anyway, after you set up their iPad - when you go so to sync your devices, you can set your sync preferences for each device any way that you like. Using apps as an example ... This is how you can select the unique content for you own device. You can do this in every tab in iTunes .... Apps, music, photos, movies, books, etc.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on all of the apps in the apps list that you want to sync to your iPad..
Click on the Sync Apps Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
In the Info tab of iTunes, just don't sync your contacts or calendar to the kids iPad.
This will be helpful.

New to Apple products (finally) - can I use my Itunes account with multiple products e.g. Iphone and Ipad?
Oh yes! Apple will be happy for you to buy as many Apple products as you can afford.
As and when needed, each can be given its own selections of content to sync with.

How do I force my iPad to revert back to my iTunes account. I changed it in Settings. Is there another place I need to change?

How do I set up my iPad for outlook files and folders
I want to see and use, on my iPad, the same files and folders I have in outlook on my PC. Also I want any changes I make on the PC or the iPad to sync with each other.
PC is running Windows 7,
Outlook version 2007, not the exchange version although I think I can get that by re-installing outlook and choosing that option.(I don't understand what exchange is but don't bother to explain it unless the solution requires using it)
I currently use Gmail for my email accounts server. They are set up as POP accounts with Outlook using a .PST data file. However, IMAP is available for Gmail. My brief past experience with IMAP and .OST data files was kind of a disaster so it isn't my 1st choice for this.
As I understand it using Outlook 365 with Microsoft's cloud and mobile app would solve my problem but I don't like clouds, 365 or IMAP (I may have to concede on some of those). If there is a way to do it through the Gmail accounts without any other cloud that would be ideal since they already have all my email and I won't be spreading my personal info to other companies.
I do have a Drop Box account but I currently only use it for some well vetted specific files that I share with specific individuals.
I do not have any computer or network drive that is always on and might serve as a private cloud. That could be changed but then i'm relying there being no ISP or power interruptions which, of course do occasionally happen.
Obviously I'm being rather picky here knowing that I'll probably have to live with some things less than ideal.
I will consider 3rd party apps if they seem to be part of the solution.
Thank you in advance for any person/s that want to help me on this.
hsvtThanks. I can change the forwarding settings in Gmail to be either POP or IMAP. That is quite simple. I just looked at those settings on the Gmail server and, to my surprise, both are enabled. In order for outlook client on my computer to receive IMAP emails I have to change the email account settings in my current outlook from POP to IMAP. I don't need to be using the Exchange version of Outlook to receive IMAP. I guess I'll do a little research tomorrow on Exchange so i can figure out what, if anything, it might do for me.
I glanced at the link you sent me and it looks like it might be very helpful - another project for tomorrow.
BTW: I hit "This Solved my Question" by accident. I meant only to "like' your response so you would get some benefit from the help you've given me so far. I hope I haven't discouraged others from taking a shot at helping me. I suspect there is more than one way to approach this and, as you know, my problem isn't really solved until I have what I need all set up and running smoothly. -
I am buying my mother an ipad for Christmas. I want to register it and load up her contacts before I give it to her. I only have 1 day with her and want to spend it on teaching her how to use it. Is there anyway to do it and not link it to her email. She will instantly know and ruin the suprise if I use her email.
Set up a free email specifically to use for her Apple ID. Handle the emails on that account during setup, then turn the account over to her after you give her the present.

Macbook Air and iPad for College/ General Use?
Hi all, I've recently gotten a tax rebate to the tune of £1500 pounds and since I'm returning to college in September I'd like to purchase a MacBook Air in order to have a way to take down notes in a far more efficient form. I currently own a 2010 iMac so I can used that for storage and entertainment meaning the MacBook doesn't need to be anything special in terms of performance.
I currently have two options that I'm interested in, buy an 11 inch MacBook Air (Don't need the 13 if I'm honest) and I'll have enough money to buy an iPad (for use as a Filofax/ E-Reader/ something to prat about on).
OR I could sink the money into a MacBook Pro (putting extra to it of course) and get more performance.
Or maybe there's a third option that I've missed? Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.Seriously, look at the specs and price...
http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shopmac/family/macbookair?afid=p219%7CGOUS&cid=OAS-US-KWG-CPUMacBookAir-US
Then compare... for example...
http://www.shopping.hp.com/notebooks
Or try dell.

Then ask yourself that question again.
You should be able to get a 6-9 cell quad core with 4-8gigs ram and a 64 bit OS for 1/3 the price of the core duo 2gig air. 9 cell battery is where your cost goes up, it's the difference between 9 hours (6 cell) and 13 hours (9 cell) of battery life.
But a quad core 4 gig 6 cell 64bit OS laptop will run you about $499 -$699. And it will bury the $1600 air 500 feet in the ground without breaking a sweat, all while watching p0rn, playing call of duty and streaming netflix as it digs the hole.
I guess the real question is, do you want to buy a computer to make a fashion statement, or do you want to buy a computer to use as a computer? -
Also, I changed my ID on one of the iTunes accounts on my MacBook Pro. However, when I go to download music or apps on my iPhone, the old account ID keeps popping up and i don't know how to get that to update the account ID- even after synching the phone and laptop.
i had one for a long time, then when i got the ipad i didn't realize they would all still work under one so i set up the second one on that
then when i got the new iphone i put in the info for the first and main one from my mac pro and it would not work at all, and i knew it was right, then it asked me to create a new one or i couldnt finish the setup
hence why i have 3 now
hard to believe you cannot combine into one
oh well, i will just make them all accessible for all 3
thanks -
I have one computer with a logon for Kids and one for Adults. There is a touch and nano that was added to a single itunes account tied to my email on the adult logon and the shuffle that is on the kids account. I can't seem to get the multiple devices access to all the songs with out erase and re-sync error message when not using the right device on the assigned logon to the computer - why and can we change this?
It sounds like each Windows user has it's own iTunesLibrary.itl file. If that is the case, then you are correct, the correct device must be connected when logged in with the correct login.
If all Windows logins share an iTunesLibrary.itl file... then it does not matter which login is used or which device is connected. -
how do sync my iphone music content with another itunes library on a macbook pro without loosing my music from my iphone
You don't.
Iphones will sync with one and only one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
It is not legal for your friend to give you his music or for you to give your friend your music. -
There are three iphone users in my household but only one main computer. I am the primary users and have all my business contacts on my iphone and computerr. The other two in the household also have iphones with their own contact lists. is there a way to set them up so that we can share some music but not contacts. Aosl need to be able to back up their data which I presume would be through icloud and a separate iapple itues id. how do I go about setting this up?
There is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. Some data sharing is possible. See:
iTunes- How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one
iTunes- How to share music and video
iTunes- How to share music between different accounts on a single computer

I want to have a master waveform graph (or chart) capable of displaying data via the value property node. There are several value nodes in a flat sequence structure. The problem is that the graph (or chart) doest keep the previous data and does display just the very last value property node. Can anybody help me?
A graph does not "keep" any data. It is strictly an indicator which displays the most recent values written to it.
A chart has an internal buffer, called, Chart History which retains previously written data until the buffer is full. Then it removes the oldest data when new data is sent to the chart.
1. Sequence structures are almost never needed in good LabVIEW programs. They defeat dataflow and limit parallelism.
2. Value property nodes (and local variables) should only be used under special circumstances and a sequence structure is not one of those.
A state machine with shift registers or a Producer/Consumer architecture are more likely to be better ways of doing what you are trying to do and can be implemented without sequence structures or Value property nodes.

How do I set up a set of 8 iPads for school use?
I am setting up 8 iPads for a school using a Macbook to manage them. I have been advised that the bet way to do this is to use Configurator for settings etc and iTunes for managing apps. Could anyone provide a walkthrough guide as to how to use these two programs together successfully. Can it be done or am I better to stick to iTunes only? I am happy for the same content to be replicated on each iPad.
Many thanks to anyone who can provide a solution.Excellent guide. See announcment post -- https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4256735?tstart=0
