How do I set up Back to my Mac

Okay, I've spent way more hours than I'd like to admit trying to properly set up my network. Here's what I'm trying to do. I've got a U-Verse Residential Gateway (3801HGV), a 4th Generation Airport Extreme (MC340LL/A), and a 3rd Generation Apple TV. I just got a new Macbook Air and I'd like to be able to remotely access the external hard drives I've connected to the AE. I have the ethernet properly connected but what I have struggled with is the right combination of settings in Airport Uitilty. The problem is that I would like to be able to use AirPlay via the Apple TV but I am only able to get that to work if I bridge the Airport to the RG. However, Back to my Mac only works if I'm set up with the DHCP-NAT router mode and then AirPlay won't work. I've tried opening the proper ports for Airplay but still can't see it. I've tried static IPs, DHCP reservations, etc but honestly don't truly understand what that all means. Can someone please help a networking noob? Thank you!

For double NAT the reset didn't work at first and I had to unplug all the connections but eventually got it back. I also checked "Enable detection of router-behind-router conditions" in the RG. Not sure if that did anything but I'm not seeing any AE warnings anymore.

There is no plus sign and going into optins and changing settings has not worked. I have uninstall FF and reinstall-keeping my personalization-and that was no help.
Right clicking on FF Icon to open a new tab, or going up to FF drop down tab and clicking on new tab both do not work.
Help everything opens a new window not a new tab. there seems to be no way to reset this or to chose a different optin. I just downloaded new tabs at end addon and it didn't do a thing.

as a first troubleshooting step - does it work like normally when you open & run firefox in [[Safe Mode|safemode]] by pressing the shift key while you open firefox (all other instances have to be closed before)...

There's some confusion here. Do you mean the code to visit settings/general/restrictions, or the Apple ID and password to deactivate Activation Lock? Here's how to test.
First, go to settings/General/Restrictions. Do you need to enter a 4 digit code? If you do, then connect the phone to your computer and restore the phone from Recovery Mode as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.
If no code is required to get into Restrictions what you need is the Apple ID and passcode that was used to set Find my iPhone. To verify that this is what is needed go to Settings/iCloud and turn off Find my iPhone. You will be prompted for your Apple ID and passcode. If you don't have them your phone is permanently disabled. You can contact Apple Account Security to prove you are the owner of the Apple ID and get the password reset. How can I set a password on my Mac Mini? Someone else is reading my emails. I would like to be able to lock it so nothing on it could be seen without a password. Is that possible? How?

So uncheck the automatic login after making sure you know your password and it will require a password on startup.
You can also go into the security preferences and have the machine lock itself once the screensaver is activated. This is sometimes controlled from the screensaver preferences as well.
You could also go nuts and activate multiple users where your name appears in the menu bar. When you walk away from the machine you can use that menu to take you to the "login window", effectively locking your machine.

All I can say is make sure you have the same account name on the computer like before, even if you have to create a new user under System Preferences>accounts, then log into your itunes account with that and try to reverse sync from the iPhone like you would normally.
Apple doesn't expect one to go backwards, so they are not all that friendly, you may have to ask around on MacRumors for third party software that can reverse sync from iOS devices.

Entourage is a third party app so stop down to the Microsoft support forums. In any case I would suspect in its preferences there would be a selection as to when (parameters) incoming mail should be deleted from the server.

If iCloud isn't in system preferences you will need to update your operating system.
iCloud is part of iOS 10.7.2 or better.

iMovie ’11 is not programmed to come with all Macs — it didn’t come with my Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
Presuming that your Mac is newer than mine, have you checked to see if you can download iMovie ’11 gratis from the Mac App Store?

Backed up Adobe Creative Suite on external hard drive, how do I get it back onto my Mac?

My Mac is four years old and the hard drive crapped out. I backed up my entire computer before getting a new hard drive, this includes my Adobe Creative Suite which is very important as I am a designer. I need help figuring out how to get this all back onto my Mac so I can get back to work!
