How do I set up ether-channel between 4507s

This should be simple, but it's not.
I have three 4507s; one is an edge, and the other two are core switch/routers. I want two cables going from the edge ( on separate blades) to trunk to each of the core 4507s. This would mean four wires leaving the edge, and two wires into each core. thanks

you don't say what version of IOS you are running but attached is a link to config for 4500 etherchannel. This will apply to all IOS versions.

Ether channel between fiber optic ports any difference?

I will appreciate any help about the below questions.
there are two catalyst 4506 multilayer switches, Two SFP modules are installed on each switches for uplink purpose. (1000 Base SX fiber optic Gigabit ethernet SFP modules)
I want to connect two switches each other. Question is;
1.Can I bundle these two gigabit ports (ether channel) and get Two gigabit connection between switches ?
2.If I can do it, what happens if one of the lines fails?
I know I can configure ether channel between copper fast ethernet ports but I am not sure If I can benefit same feature for 1000 base SX fiber optic ports.

Hi Friend,
You can run a command "sh port capabilities " and that will how that whether that ports are capable of etherchannel or not.
Also AFAIK SFP ports are just the physical medium so it does not make a differece, they should be capable of etherchannel.
Also if one port of the channel goes down traffic will start trasversing through the other port so it will take care as redundancy. It will behave like other etherchannel which you cofnigure with copper ports.

I am a beginner of Web Dynpro. I want to develop my simple project like these:
1. Create my own database table via Dictionary Project such as TAB_USER and have 3 fields: USER_ID, USER_NAME, USER_POSITION and I have already deployed & archived it.
2. Create my own Web Dynpro Project, and create the input fields as User ID, User name, User position and icon 'Save' on the selection screen and I have deployed it already.
For the process, I want to input data at the screen and save the data in the table, please give me the guide line like these:
1. How can I set the data binding between Web Dynpro and Database table ?
2. Are there any nescessary steps that I will concern for this case?

You can write your own connection class for establishing the connection with DB.
Ex:

You can place the above class file in src folder and you can use this class in webdynpro.

How do you set up the passkey between the Mac & Palm?

Hi all,
I need help with a couple of things relating to bluetooth and Mac;
a) when I try to HotSync the Palm TX and iBook(OS 10.3.9) using BT, I get an error message saying "can't initiate Hotsync because port is in use by another application'.
b) how do you set up the passkey between the Mac & Palm? I can't work out how to input anything on the Palm at the step where it asks for the passkey.

Palm has this to say about the issue:
'Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application.'
This error can occur on the Palm™ Zire™ 72 handheld after setting up a Bluetooth® HotSync® connection. When you configure the Bluetooth application on the handheld for synchronization (or when you set up a Bluetooth connection in the Connections preference screen), the HotSync button in the Writing Area may try to launch a Bluetooth connection, regardless of the connection selected in the HotSync application on your handheld. The HotSync icon in the Writing Area will always try to connect using whatever method was last used. When you set up Bluetooth HotSync, it used Bluetooth, and now tapping the icon in the Writing Area will result in a Bluetooth connection.
The issue arises if you launch the HotSync application on your handheld, and select the "Cradle/Cable" option from the pulldown menu, and then tap on the HotSync icon in the Writing Area. Your handheld will still try to perform a Bluetooth HotSync operation, because that was the method last used. You will see an error message, and won't be able to synchronize.
Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application.
Why does this happen?
Because your handheld was set up for Bluetooth, tapping the HotSync icon in the Writing Area should launch a Bluetooth HotSync. But if you select a different method in the HotSync application, your handheld will try to connect using that method as well. The HotSync application is unsure which method to use, and you will see the error message.
What should I do?
If you see this error, here's how to correct the issue:
1. Launch the HotSync application on your handheld.
2. In the pulldown menu at the center of the screen, choose the connection method by which you wish to synchronize.
3. Then, instead of tapping the HotSync icon in the Writing Area, tap the large onscreen HotSync icon in the middle of the HotSync application screen.
4. Do this every time you wish to synchronize using Cable/Cradle.
5. Whenever you want to synchronize using Bluetooth, exit the HotSync application and tap the HotSync icon in the Writing Area.
6. This will allow you to keep multiple connection methods for synchronization, and the flexibility of alternating between them.

How can I set up a VPN between two MacBook Pros

I am about to buy a new MacBook Pro, I will be leaving my old MacBook Pro in my office in Nicaragua and traveling with my new MBP. I would like to be able to access files on my old laptop from the road, I imagine using some sort of VPN software to patch into my old computer as long as it is on and connected to the Internet.
Can you help me to set this up. It feels as though it could be difficult, but I imagine it si much simpler than I think.

How do I set up a chat between 2 of my own computers?

I am wondering if someone can help me. I am a travelling speaker. I have a new iMac at home and I use a new MacBook Pro. I would like to be able to chat with my wife and kids when I am on the road but I am confused as how I can do this as I only have one .mac account.

Congrats on your new purchase of a MacBook Pro!
The key to holding chats between 2 of your own mac's is having a seperate screen name for each of the mac's. You can sign-up for another .Mac account screen name that you are able to keep after the free trial, or you can sign-up for a free AIM screen name at: http://www.aim.com.
Once you have a seperate screen name for each of your macs, you'll be able to conduct a video chat between the two.

Have them copy their contact to Exchange/Office365 contact. All contact at once place. Once you have all contact copied or imported to Office 365 they will be synced to Andorid or another mobile device. You can use Ms Outlook to drag and Drop the contacts.

I read with interest the responce to a recent topic on a similar theme. I already have a home network involving 1 x G4 PowerMac running OS X 10.4.9, 1 x G4 PowerBook running OS X 10.4.8, 1 x G5 PowerMac running OS X 10.4.9 and a PC running XP. My problem is accessing the Macs from the XP and I though I might have solved it by visiting the mac-connect.com site refered to in the topic. However the set up procedure outlined at mac-connect involves input by editing the user account data through systems preferences but I'm not able to see those screens on any of my Macs? Consequently, I'm wondering if they are based on an older version of OS X and if so, whhat is the procedure now?

You wouldn’t believe how long it’s taken me to find a satisfactory solution to this particular facet of my networking issues. Then just recently I discover this forum and bingo! – in a quiet sort of way, you’ve given me what looks to be the answer. Well all I can say is award yourself the CDM, or whatever is your favourite sweet or tipple. I’m not so sure about the sharepoints yet, I seem to be swapping the files I need to ok, but I haven’t tested it to the full yet.

I am transferring my library to a new computer and want to share it with my partner who has her own sign-on and iTunes library on the same PC. Does Home Sharing work in this situation? And how do I just transfer individual albums or playlists from my library to hers?

It would be far simpler if they are on the same computer to put the files into your dropbox (or whatever it is called on a PC and simply drag and drop them into your library.
