How do i set up facetime and the messaging app on my daughters ipod touch? she is 9 and can not have an apple i.d. for purchases etc. i only want to message her from my i phone!

What i need the answer to is how to get an apple i.d.for my daughter without an email address or anything else, as she is only 9 and does not need, nor can she legally have, an i tunes account. I have got face time working but have done it with my other email address and have gone round so many houses to achieve it the passwords etc are a mystery now. is there a place where i can view what is linked to what, and generally do some house keeping and tidy up the mess i have created attempting to enable the features of her i pod touch? I am trying to keep my child from the full force of the internet and therefore have found the easiest course of action to leave everything switched off and am starting to wish i had bought a shuffle instead, She is right to question why she has the device when she can not use it to it's capacity. But safely. And i am astonished that the help is so difficult to obtain quickly and easily, surely other responsible parents have had to do the same thing?

If the iPhone has iOS 6, you can only uncheck your phone number on the iPod that is in Settings>Messages>Send And Receive. To delete yo have to create a new iTunes account not associated with the phone.

My son has iPod touch and husband iPad 2. They would like to FaceTime each other but both devices are registered to the same apple Id on the same email address.( my son is only 8 so not his own email address) clearly as FaceTime uses email address they can,t FaceTime the same email. So how do we do this. Can we have 2 email addresses on the same apple I'd. Really not vey technical, but son is desperate to do this so he can talk to daddy at work.

First set up FT with the same Apple ID. Then for one of the devices, add another email address as the calling address and delete the Apple ID as the calling address on that device.

How do I take my phone number off my kids ipad minis and add there phone numbers or emails for FaceTime? They both have icloud.com accts., I tried adding their icloud emails but they would not verify. I want us all to use the same iTunes account but have separate face time and email and the iMessage. This is why I did separate iCloud account so we would all have storage and Still be able to use my iTunes account For music and books. They keep getting all my messages and all of my emails and I want us to have separate ones.

How can I set up Facetime on a deactivated Sprint iphone 4?

I bought a Sprint iphone 4 from someone who had deactivated due to he couldnt afford the extra data package; therefore the ESN is bad and not free and clear. I have a 12yr old son with Down Syndrome who had played with his sisters ipod touch and I thought we might be able to get him to like this one instead. When I showed him the Angry Birds game, to our astonishment, he took to it immediately. It is the first time he's ever played, and completed any game, ever. Needles to say what I bought for parts(I have a cell phone repair business) has now become his phone. Usually in these cases I do a complete reset, but instead, I have deleted all the prior owners personal information and reset up the wifi and my email info.
The problem I'm having is getting Facetime to work on this used iphone 4. Another daughter is away at college, has an iphone 4 with AT&T, and we would love for our son to be able to talk to the sister he misses so much. I have set up an account in Apple, followed all the instructions, and it never gets past the "Verifying"message then "Activation unsuccessful. Turn on Facetime to try again." We are utilizing Wifi and have a good strong connection, because I can surf the net and get into my AOL account.
I would really love to be able to set this up; can this be done? I am "Old School" and would need a step by step instruction. Thanx!!!

If it is true about the SMS, then it can't be done. The phone would have to be activated and, as I stated in my OP, the ESN is not free and clear. Therefore It can't send the SMS, ever. I didn't get "Hosed", as I said in the OP, I originally bought the phone for parts. It was only used 3 weeks, looked brand new, is white, and only had 3 hours on the Talktimer. It was only when I discovered my son connected with the Angry Birds game did I consider giving it to him. I have software to identify most SPC's(Service Provider Code) on Sprint, Verizon, and most CDMA phones. I utilize this to update Software, reflash, or Change PRL's, on CDMA phones. But even finding out this and reprograming it with another number won't work if an actual SMS has to be sent thru the Sprint System; besides, I'm pretty sure this software(CDMA WS Pro) won't work with iphones. So I guess the "Genius" guy wouldnt be able to help me out anyway. Too bad there isnt away around having to use Sprint to activate an Apple app. If anyone else has a solution, please let me know. I have multiple Apple devices using the same Apple ID for all devices. I work in the Middle East and my wife is in Russia. I would like to Facetime between my different devices. Is this possible with all devices registered with the same Apple ID. It is just easier for find my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air and for purchasing Apps. Is this possible and how do I set it up.

Create Apple IDs for everyone individually and use that in Settings > Facetime, Settings > Messages, Settings > Game Center but keep the Apple ID used for app and content purchases in Settings > iTunes and App Stores

Facetime only works with two devices at a time. You can have the same Apple ID, but the two devices can't have the same email address. Get a new gmail account. Normally you use wifi for connection, however, with iOS 6 and an iPad 3 you can use cellular.

I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.
