Who is your internet service provider used for connecting to the internet?
Will you also be accessing an email account and SMTP server that is provided by your internet service provider with the Mail.app?
Upon creating this account I ran into trouble because I tried to
use the address I had created before and kept getting an error
message saying that account already existed (Although I had no
access to it to make any changes, I don't know why). So finally I
said the heck with it and just created a new account with the
new address:
You no longer had access to your .Mac trial account because you let the account expire several months ago without purchasing the .Mac account before the expiration date. This is common practice with many ISPs and email account providers. Once an email account/address is set up, if you let the account expire or cancel it, you usually can't use the same address if you decide sometime later to renew.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button below for the .Mac SMTP server.
Enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
If this doesn't resolve it, there is another option.
FYI - you shouldn't provide your email address out in the open in a public forum such as this since spammers can easily "harvest" your email address this way causing being bombarded by spam.
