How do i set up iCloud keychain if the security code was sent to a device i lost
So I lost my original ipone 5 while i was overseas. I locked it and wiped out the the information using Find My iPhone. Now i have a new ipone 5C but the verifivation code is being sent to my old phone number instead of my new one. I just want to keychain all my devices, those being an ipad mini, my mac book pro and my iphone 5C. Please help!
If you need to change the phone number associated with your account (from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5834):
Devices using iOS 7.0.3 or later: Tap Settings > iCloud > Account, then tap Keychain. Check that the phone number listed under Verification Number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
Macs using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later: Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account Details. Check that the phone number listed under Verification number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.

ICloud Keychain reset without security code
I set yo iCloud Keychain without problems but did not set up a security code. Later,I disabled iCloud Keychain but now want to enable it again. My contact phone is a landline without SMS capability. How can I recover and start over from scratch?
After continued research, I finally found what I think is the best article in Apple Support on this issue. It explains how to reset the iCloud Keychain. The two lessons that I learned from this were:
1. Always use your iPhone as the reference phone number so you can get the proper support from Apple (I had listed a landline)
2. Always be sure to establish your iCloud Keychain security code when you set up iCloud Keychain.

IF you set up find my ipod on the ipod itsled BEFORE it was stolen AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi AND it has not been restored, then you may be able to find an approximate street address using find my ipod in icloud.
Otherwise there is no way to track it.
Change your passwords and report it to the police. -
How do I reply to an email from the address it was sent to?
I've found previous questions asking this, but they are old and this seems to be a new problem - it started when I upgraded to 31.3.0 yesterday. I have several email addresses, so say "me@work" and "me@home". Mail to all addresses end up in the same inbox (I only have one inbox that I use, there's another right down at the bottom of the folders list in "Local Folder" but I don't know what this is and there's never been mail in it).
In any case, until yesterday if I received an email to "me@work" and I hit the reply button the reply was from "me@work", and ditto with home. Now if I hit reply to "me@work" the reply is set from "me@ home". Why, and how do I go back to they way it was? If this isn't possible, can I go back to yesterday's Thunderbird? I am never going to remember to check each time and am bound to end up replying from the wrong address.
Thanks.Thanks, but I know how to do that. It's not practical when the email being replied to is a chain of emails that may run for hundreds of lines. And if the snip I do want to quote is somewhere in the middle, I would have to perform two select/deletes.
If there was a way to "select all" and then delete the selection, that would help. But that basic capability does not seem to exist. -

I received a text message this morning that read 'Your iCloud Keychain verification code is: ******'
I had never heard of iCloud Keychain up until this point and I certainly didn't request a verification code for it. Does this mean that somebody else has requested it? I have since changed the Apple ID password. Should I be concerned for my account's security? Cheers.I would suggest you change that AppleID password then. If you got that message, someone using your iCloud account ID tried to set up iCloud keychain, and the message was sent to the primary number associated with that AppleID.
go to https://appleid.apple.com and change the password.
As an aside, just check your iPhone and iPad, under your iCloud account's settings, and make sure that iCloud keychain has not been somehow inadvertently enabled? -

If you have iCloud Keychain set up on another device, you can update your SMS number via that other device in order to verify your new device. If you do not have another device available or you do not have an SMS capable number, you will need to contact Apple for identity verification in order to bypass that phone number authentication. My wife and I have different Apple ID's and passwords but I want to share our music library which is on iCloud under my Apple ID. How do I set her up to share the music library that resides on the iCloud under my Apple ID?
You would need to go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap her ID, sign out, then sign back in with your ID. However, if she has turned on automatic downloads, download previous purchases or signed into an iTunes Match account using her current ID, she would have to wait 90 days from when she first did this to change to another ID. She can, of course, sync your music to her device using iTunes without changing her ID association.

How can I prevent Safari/iCloud Keychain from saving data in our password field?
We have a web-based management system where administrators can set and update passwords for individual users. While I love iCloud keychain personally, the problem we are finding is that if the user, once prompted by Safari to Save the password in iCloud Keychain for Autofill, actually clicks 'Save Password', then our page wants to autofill that same password for any selected user or newly added user (and since we don't allow duplicates, constant errors result).
So the basic question: is there a way in HTML or Javascript to set form fields - or an entire form or div - to be ignored by iCloud Keychain, even if they are username or password fields.
We know we could just tell all our Safari users to disable in preferences with a pop-up banner, but that would be unfortunate (and IE-like)

Yes. Follow these steps, starting on any one of your iOS devices or Macs that is using iCloud Keychain:
Devices using iOS 7.0.3 or later:
Go to Settings > iCloud > Account > Keychain and turn off “Approve with Security Code”.
Go to each of your other devices that is using iCloud Keychain and turn iCloud Keychain off.
Macs using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later:
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account details.
Deselect “Allow approving using security code”.
Go to each of your other devices that is using iCloud Keychain and turn iCloud Keychain off.
After you complete these steps, your keychain data will remain locally on your devices, but changes to your keychain information will not push to your other devices or the cloud unless you turn iCloud Keychain back on. If you want keychain data to push to all of your devices, but not to the cloud, turn on iCloud Keychain on each device as described earlier in this document, but skip the step to create an iCloud Security Code.

To change your iCloud ID or password you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your other ID. If you need to migrate any of your daughter's iCloud data to your account, choose Keep on My iPad when prompted, then choose Merge to upload it to the new account. If not, choose Delete from My iPad.

I am trying to set up Icloud keychain, but it keeps sending the verification code to my land line (which I guess I entered back when I first got my MacBook). I have gone into my apple account and changed the # to my mobile phone, but it continued to send it to the land line. Probably is something simple, but I am not a techy!!

As regardss to the iChat and iChat Sharing categorisation you have used.
In iChat 6 (lion) and Messages (Mountain Lion) the apps login to AIM and to Me.com
The Login to Me.com allows AIM to verify the password to the iCloud issued names (@me.com and @iCloud.com)
This "Dual" login also prevents the newer iCloud issued name from using this site
(it has extra Privacy settings that iChat can't access for your AIM and Aim valid Accounts)
Ignoring the @mac.com and MobileMe entries in the Add Account Screen in iChat and using the AIM one does not get around this issue.
AIM and @mac.com names still work in older versions of iChat.
The short answer is that iCloud issued Apple IDs do not work in iChat 5 or Earlier.
