How do I set up Intel Smart Response on my hybrid drive

I own a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC. I have a 1TB hard drive with a 32 GB SSD used for caching and accelerating using Intel's Smart Response Technology and Rapid Storage Technology console. I had to send in my computer for warranty service that included replacing the hard drive. I appears that the SSD may not have been configured.  Below I have screenshots of the screen that now shows after the POST (that didn't appear before I sent it in for service) and the Intel RST console.
I'm just trying to get it back to its original settings, where it uses Intel's Smart Response Technology to improve performance.  How should I configure the SSD given what shows in the screenshots below?
(You might have to right-click on the image and open it in a new tab to see it full size.)
Since it has come back I get the following screen after the POST.  I am limited to options 3 (resetting to a non-RAID disk) and 6 (exit):

It is fixed now. To fix it I did a complete backup of my files and settings, then, in the Accelerate window I clicked on Disassociate. I also reset to SSD to available. After rebooting a couple of times, all appears to be normal.

  • How to setup Intel Smart Response

I've got an MSI B85M-G43 and installed the Super RAID driver.  The Intel Smart Response and Rapid Start buttons are greyed out.  How do I activate them?
I don't have an SSD installed yet.

That link assumes Windows7, I assume it supports Windows8 as well.
I'm thinking of using my 240G ssd as the boot drive.
Is it best to use the Smart Responce and Rapid Start features with a separate dedicated SSD?
My other idea is to get a second 1T drive for RAID mirroring of application and other DATA.

  • SSD Cache Not Working U840 after Clean Install Intel Smart Response Technology

Hello, I completed a clean install of Windows 8 on my ultrabook model U840 (Core i3, 16GB SSD).  I would appreciate any advice to get the SSD to use the Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT) for SSD Cache.
I used the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) driver during install and after installing Windows 8 but I do not recieve the option to Accelerate the SSD drive.  I followed the instructions and links contained in this Toshiba Forum post: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=277914
The computer is supported for Windows 8 upgrade and clean install drivers are available at Toshiba: http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows8/drivers_cae.htm
The BIOS is set to default for the drives (Performance). Any advice is appreciated.  Thanks.

If anyone stumbles upon this problem in 2015, i have detailed my solution here
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=81644&tstart=0
I used a somewhat abbreviated version of this guide myslef, and did have some trial and errors
    http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/rapid_start_technology_user_guide.pdf
I urge you to at least read my post in the other Toshiba forum for a fuller grasp and overview, but I have also attached the two Intel website and PDF links for you.
Keep in mind that there are seemingly two types or Intel Rapid Cache type options. Follow the instructions in the intel link and one of them will work for you. (I hope it does work for you because i know how frustrating this issue is)
    Cheers and Best of luck

  • S540 Intel Smart Response Technology / SRT

    Hello,
I've recently bought a S540 laptop and  I like it very much.
Recently I have noticed that my 16GB SSD in not used in any way.
After some digging i realised that S540 is said to be supporting Intel Smart Response Technology.
I didn't manage to activate it as I didn't find the BIOS Advanced / AHCI -> RAID option.
So, the question is: did anybody succeed in setting up Intel SRT on s540 ThinkPad?

Do you already have the ssd? I would suggest trying it and see what happens....
There is less difference than you would expect from 3gb/s to 6gb/s even with an ssd.
If you hang out awhile, someone that has tried this may post. Let me know how it turns out either way.

  • Intel Smart Response and RAID bios option

    hi
unfortunately, i have lenovo M5400 and i am disappointed that i have another problem with this notebook.
i cannot enable intel smart response in intel rapid storage because i ave no RAID option in bios, only compatible/ahci.
    why? how to fix it?

    hi pixo,
If you are aiming to Cache the SSD Caching,
Try it out on a non raid setup and try this step to cache the SSD

  • IdeaPad U410, Windows 8.1 x64, UEFI, Intel Smart Response problem

    Hi,
My machine was running a Windows 8.1 x64 Enterprise on a GPT partitioned HDD UEFI enabled with bios version 65CN21WW.
Intel Smart response and rapid start was running fine with the 32GB Samsung SSD.
After upgraded the bios to version 65CN99WW many weird thing happened:
    - the system couldn't start, it tried to repair the system on booting,
    - The bios shows the machine as U310 model,
    - Even after a fresh install of the windows the machine couldn't start after finishing the install.
I finally got the system working by reseting the RAID and installing the system without acceleration association in UEFI mode. But after enabling the acceleration in the Rapid Storage UI the system starts to failing again and tries to repair the system again and again.
By disabling the UEFI, (setting it to legacy support) the system could start again.
Why cannot the UEFI be enabled? Or what is the correct setup in the BIOS?
    Any help appreciated!
    Regards,
    R.

Why did you upgrade the BIOS?
I'm still keeping the old CN21 and it works perfectly with 8 Gb RAM and the new 512Gb M6 from Plextor, I barely finish typing the logon pass and windows 8.1 screen shows up.

  • T520 and Intel Smart Response Technology

    Hello,
In theory T520 chipset supports the Intel Smart Response Technology. I would like to use Intel 311 20GB SSD on mSATA slot as SSD cache to improve the storage performance. Is this possible with T520 at all? Anybody successfully made it work?

ThinkPad does not support Intel SRT.  The support is not in the BIOS.

"the intel Smart Response Tecnology is not enabled".
When I try to verify the new drive from the BIOS, it was no recognized

    Hi,
You don't understand. I have ONE new SSD drive, and this drive is not detected neither by BIOS nor HP USB recovery.
I boot the system with Ubuntu live USB and I can see this drive under linux environment.
You mentioned both an SSD and mSSD at a point.  Hence, my confusion.
Did you update your BIOS before swapping the drives?  That is a good step to take before upgrading an SSD.  Here is a link to the latest BIOS.  However, this must be installed from within an installation of Windows.
    Let me know the result.

  • How can I set up my TC as an external hard drive only?

How can I set up my TC as an external hard drive for my iMac and my MacBook?
I baught it for the extra space but don't know how to use it. I just keeps on wanting to back up files.
    Help me please.

    Hi,
Thank you for great advice re SuperDuper.
You wasnt to know we didnt live in  USA.  We will try to get the full retail version of Leopard off the net.  We will also phone round the apple resellers.
In the meantime, we are happy running Tiger with the knowledge that SuperDuper has cloned our hard drive in case of a disaster.
SuperDuper recommended backing up the hard drive with a new user account if we were using filevault on the master account.  We backed up our hard drive without creating a new user with filevault as we could not read the pdf `Instuctions as preview was not responding.
Is this copy safe to use as a bootable drive or should we copy our entire HD again using a new user account without filevault?

  • How can I set up a smart album that looks for keywords?

    Hi everyone,
I'm in the middle of a rethink on my image management and am wanting to setup smart albums that will search for and display images that have a certain keyword. When I create a new smart album to do this, I'm only given the ability to choose to search for rating and calendar criteria; the keywords and import session options are greyed out. My images have keywords assigned, so where do I go from here?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

OK, a step forward. It seems that if I create a smart album it will only look for keywords in the project that it is contained in.
Perhaps someone can help me then: I keep a collection of albums for each person that is featured in a photograph. These albums are stored outside of the projects that the images are stored in so I can have a collection of images that show person X from all the different shoots.
What I want to do now is keyword each image with the person's name (as a keyword) and then have a Smart album that will pick out all of their photos from my entire library, not just a certain project. How can I do this?

  • Adobe Forms - How do I set up e-mail responses

I am an HTML web designer who has been frustrated by forms. So I purchased Adobe Forms. Extremely easy to create.
Here's what I don't understand: When someone responds, is it possible to have the e-mail response sent to the people I am creating the forms for?
I thought it would be sent to them if they were listed as a collaborator, but the e-mail notifications don't go to them.
    What can I do?

    Read this FAQ: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1424
They need to go to their Options tab and turn it on. It is something each user controls, not you.

  • How can I set up a smart playlist for those free songs from iTunes?

I have been downloading all those free songs that iTunes gives out every week. I just realized that I never listen to them because they are not all grouped together. Is there a way to do that? I tried using a smart folder to do that but I don't think anything in those files is labeled "single of the week" so nothing came up. Any ideas?

That would work. Another option I just thought of is that since most my iTunes purchases are music videos I could just say show purchased content that is not a music video. I would still end up getting some stuff that wasn't the free songs but the results seem close enough. Since my song library has 3494 songs it would be hard to pick the free songs out individually.

  • Z68 G3 - Need help setting up RAID + Smart Response please.

Ok, this is the first time I am going to be setting up RAID. I have two new 64 GB SSD's hooked up to SATA 1-2 (The first 2 white SATA 6.0). I go into BIOS, and I set the settings to RAID, and then I enable SATA 1 + 2. I save and reset, and during the post, I press ctrl I. I see the raid settings with the raid devices... like its going to go into RAID set up; however, it then shows the logo screen for msi m/b and then goes to command and does nothing after that.
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to install the controller drives via floppy drive? Bad thing is I don't have a floppy drive, but I can buy one. Is there any way to install the controller with out the floppy? Can it be done via USB?
I just built this new system today, so I am very anxious to get it up and running, so please reply fast hehe Im waiting =D

Never mind, I wasn't pressure Ctrl I correctly

  • T430 support Intel Smart Response Technology

    Hello everyone,
I was unable to get this question answered via the Atlanta support center (3 techs and three different answers).  Does the T430 (2344 5PU running BIOS G1ET45WW 1.20) support Inte's SRT?  When I look at the BIOS there is no option for RAID which is required to get this working.
Thank you in advanced for your assistance.
