How do I set up multiple iPads the same way?

I have 12 iPads for use in my classroom. I need to set them up so that each iPad has the same layout (all the folders should match and be in the same place). How can I do this without having to manually create/configure the apps in folders for every iPad?

If you are using a mac apple has a configuration program just for this called "apple configurator" Just for this and it is avalible for free in the mac app store.

If you want both iPad to be identical .....
Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
Now connect your iPad to your Mac and start iTunes.
When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases.
After it finishes transferring all your apps to the Mac, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
Sync the iPad and eject it when it is complete.
Quit iTunes
Connect the second iPad.
Launch iTunes
Right click on the iPad name on the left side and select - Restore from Backup
Select the backup of the first iPad and let it restore from that backup.
When it finishes restoring - sync with iTunes to transfer all of the apps and any other content that you want onto that iPad
Eject the iPad when you are done.
Check the second iPad and if all of the content did not sync as you wanted - or you want to remove some of the content - connect it again and then choose the content that you want - uncheck what you do not want - and click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.

After installing Maverick I can no longer highlight multiple emails the same way in orden out my mailbox I highlight a message,hold down my mouse and drag my cursor to highlight more messages. I click "delete" & they go to trash. How do I do this again?

After installing Maverick on my 2011 MacBookPro I can no longer highlight multiple emails in the same manner. To clean out my Inbox I highlighted a message, held my mouse down & dragged my cursor down through all the messages I wanted to delete (or move to another mailbox, or other functions) highlighting as many messages as I wanted. I then clicked "delete" & they went to trash. Such a great way to clean out a lot of messages at once. Can I and/or how do I do this again? Or is this something Maverick has eliminated? I also hate that "Notes" is no longer on the Mail page, but this is not as important. Help!!

Put differenltly, if I can drag select multiple items and objects on my desktop, which I can, using my Kensington Track Ball (which has an enabled updated software driver in place, so I don't think there's a problem there), why can't I click-drag-multipleselect emails in mail like I have *always* been able to? Really, what is the problem here? Why is that no longer possibler? I'm not a coder, but I can't believe this isn't fixable. Here, Apple should be ashamed of itself, regardless of the fact that there's an easy work around. When I have to alter the way I have been doing something for years and have to waste time learning something new and complaining about it -- like right now! -- and there's no good technical reason, and I bet there isn't, then Apple has simply failed.

How can I get png files to work on the iPad the same way they work for Android?

With the Android version, I can select a .png file template for a border, then select a background .png file, layer it under the border so that the background is revealed thru the frame. When I try to do this with the same .png files on an iPad it does not reveal thru the top layer. Same problem with my vector clip art not vectorized.

I figured it out myself by going to the settings in the Photoshop Touch app and then selecting the Image Import setting and then selecting the Access Local Photos and then selecting the Always Use Native Photo Browser radio button.

If you want everything the same on both computers you need to be running the same OS X version. You can't because your iMac is a PPC machine, not Intel.
But to see information about your hard drive is the same for both. Simply select the drive icon on the Desktop. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. Disk information is in the upper panel.

I have sent in a question but don't think I worded it right. I have 3 email accounts. The all work fine. My problem is that I set up a "notication" the same way on all 3 but incoming emails are only notifed to me (alerts) on one of them.

How do I get notifications of incoming mail? I have set this up on 3 accounts and the "beep" only works on incoming email for one of the 3 accounts. The emails come in fine but I have to open up the phone to see if I have any messages.

Have you looked on all the pages of your iPod? Have you looked in all your folders? Have you you tried finding the apps using the iPod's search page.

What exactly did you do ? If you just want the apps then connect your phone to your computer's iTunes, do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy your apps over to your computer's iTunes library, and then connect your iPad and select its Apps tab and use that to select the apps that you want to sync to it and then apply/sync that selection.
If you want the apps content to be copied over, then as well as doing the Transfer Purchases take a backup of your phone (File > Devices > Backup) and then restore that backup onto your iPad - that will replace the current contents of your iPad with what is in the backup, so before doing the restore copy anything off the iPad that you want (photos, documents, iTunes purchases etc)

The iPad mini is basically a one user device. There are no Accounts. You can set up restrictions so that only you can do certain things.

What is your server environment (Windows Server, or Mac OS X Server, or Linux)?
What security is implemented in your environment - as what is restricted (RDP for all or specifc credentials on all machines? Are you part of local admin group to the server you wish to connect)?
Does your environment Support CISCO IPSec connection? If so use Settings> VPN and IPSec tab to enter VPN details, if not then go with above suggestion. IF your restricted to RSA then either built in VPN settings or 3rd party app for RSA would suffice.
Finally, there are many RDP applications out there I use "Mocha RDP Light" (free minimal ads when launched not when connecting).

It's not something I can test - I suppose the second account's data gets added to the lists in iCal and Address Book?
