How do i set up mutliple devices with one apple id

My wife and I have 2 i phones and now a new i pad, we share an apple ID from one computer, songs apps, contacts but have seperate email ect. Now she has a i pad and wants to be able to text from it using her cell, as it stand now if she sends a text it shows up as coming from my cell? how do i fix that?

You need to set up two user accounts on the mac.  System Preferences>Users & Groups.  Then each user can set up apple IDs for itunes and icloud any way they want.

I have downloaded music to my phone through my Apple ID and it has this message that reads you can download purchases on this device with one Apple ID account every ninety days, what does this mean and how do I fix it?

Well, it doesn't mean that at all. You can download music purchased with an Apple ID to up to 10 devices. There is no 90 day wait. The wait is if you change the Apple ID.

  • How to I set up multiple devices with iMessage so I don't have multiple conversations?

My family has two iTouchs and 2 iPhones. I have all 4 set up on the same apple ID so when purchases are made from the app store or iTunes then is comes from one account.  The problem I am having is texting. When the iPhones text either of the iPods it comes from the email address linked to the apple ID.  Therefore the iTouch users can't tell which phone it came from (ie mom or dad).  Sometimes however it will show up on the iTouchs from the iPhone phone numbers. Sometimes when sending a message from iPhone to iPhone it will show up as sent from the email address associated with the apple ID.  My questions is is there a way around this or do I need to set up a different apple ID for each unit?

Not in one boot system. The only way I can think of doing what you want is to dual-boot - ie, either partition a single drive with two volumes, one for each configuration, or, if you can, use separate physical drives. The Matrox drivers are loaded at the system level, not the user level.
If you have a spare drive, you would just clone your system across using Carbon Copy Cloner / SuperDuper, then boot to the second system and adjust the drivers as necessary.

  • HT2534 Many devices with one apple ID between husband and wife....HOW!?

So, when my wife and I are both using separate iPads, how do we NOT get all these messages intended for the other person? One Apple ID for .... four products (Each have an ipad and ipod) makes it hectic enough. Now it's a nightmare figuring what to do. went into settings and changed HER imessages to her email address and I'm not getting anything and she's getting all of them. SO, now my devices won't recieve imessages etc. etc.
Hope someon knows how to do this so I don't have to purchase a whole lot of more itunes crap again just because I'm not smart enough to figure out how to use a different apple id and keep my music.
Oh, and that's it, the music and apps. We couldn't care less about most of the apps since I'm the only one BUYING them and she uses almost all free ones, but the MUSIC IS ALL ON ITUNES! Do I need to backup the entire library onto a bunch of disks and then "relicense" them from myself? How much work could THAT possibly be worth? Gotta be a simple solution. Never had so many apple products and these are my wife's first.
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!

We're screwwwwwed! Not THAT familiar to apple, just barely plugging along and dove in with two ipads and two ipod touches. Previous experience was just two ipods (160 GB) that I had to still rotate audio books out of every few months... well, for me. My wife doesn't use hers as much. ANYWAY, I lost a zillion things with the ipod classic since it didn't have a back-up option and many of the CDs I scrounged up when it first came out were already lucky to have survived college. 8 years later and the computer that had the original files had been replaced umpteen times. ipods failed and decided to quit being a tight wad. Not sure if these gifts are worth it yet.... well, two of them were.

  • Multiple IOS devices with one apple id and different PCs to synch

    I have 2 macs, 1 Apple TV, 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, 3 iPods and 1 windows pc.
    I would like to:
    1) sync each of them with one of the Macs using the same apple Id;
    2) connect with FaceTime with each of them separately (at least the iPads and iPhones);
    3) synch one phone with the Mac for music and my work PC for apps.
What should I do using my unique apple I'd?
    Txs,
    Roberto

When you say "sync", are you talking about physically having songs, movies, etc on your computers and devices?  Or simply want to access those files on those computers and devices?  *Syncing is different from Home Sharing but you are in the Home Sharing discussion forum.  That is why I am asking.
If they are all in the same network and just want to access them or listen/watch them, all you have to do is turn on Home Sharing for all of your machines and devices with the same account.
For Mac/PC desktops, you can turn on Home Sharing in iTunes 11.  Go to File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing.  Do this for all machines.  After doing that, you go to the media selector button at the top left to see your Home Shares.  Or you can enable the sidebar by going to View > Show Sidebar.  From there, just connect to your other computers and you will able to listen or watch to your content.
For your devices, turn on Home Sharing in Settings.  Go to Settings > Music or Video > Home Sharing and enter the same Apple ID and password.  You can listen to songs in Music and watch videos in Video.app.
For your Apple TV, if it is a 2nd gen ATV or later then you can turn on Home Sharing under Computers in the main screen.  For the 1st gen ATV, you can either share or pair with iTunes.
If you want to physically have files (this is syncing), then you can sync your devices to the machine you want to sync with.
With respect to FaceTime, if you want to use FaceTime on your phone with someone but separately on your iPad then you can associate your phone number to FT on your phone and on your iPad, you can use your Apple ID for FaceTime.  That way, if people want to FT on your phone, they should use the phone number to FT.  For iPad, people should enter your Apple ID when doing FT.

  • Using Passbook on multiple devices with one Apple ID?

My wife and I each have an iPhone 4S, and we each have an iPod Touch. We use a single Apple ID on all devices (mine). I'm the only one that's really even using Passbook, but Passbook alerts are popping up on all four devices. When I use my Starbucks card, all 4 devices receive the alert. When I use my AMEX, all four devices are alerted. I want to either disable Passbook on three of the four devices, or figure out how to tie Passbook on those devices to a secondary Apple ID.

If you want to share an apple id, but not passbook, you can turn off syncing on her device under settings > iCloud > passbook.

  • Transferring content from one apple device with one apple id to another device with a different apple id. (Family members)

My son has an IPod Touch and uses my apple ID to purchase and download music and movies from the Itunes store. He finally got a job and he purchased an IPhone 5 C and has his own apple ID. What is the easies way for him to transfer the contents of his IPod (that was purchased with my apple id) to his new device that has his own apple id?

iTunes and App store puechaesed are permanently tied to the AppleID used to purchase them. They can't be transfered.

  • Setting up multiple devices on one apple id

I've purchased a new Ipad with the intent of setting it up under my pre-existing apple id.  The apple id already has 2 other Ipads on it (this will be 3).  I set everything up today and went to download an app and was met with the 'Your Apple ID has been disabled.' notification.  I did some research and saw that I should reset my ID.  I'd prefer not to do that b/c then I would have to go and change all the device passwords.  I am able to log onto itunes, etc. Just not able to download apps.

Apple disabled your Apple ID because of many attempts to access your account unsuccessfully.  I don't think there is a way to get around this without resetting your password.  I know it frustrating and causes more work but in the end you will be safer if you go ahead and reset your password.

  • How can I make App Store stick with one Apple ID login?

I have an iPhone 3GS and recently upgraded to IOS5. The iTunes on our laptop has always recognized whether my phone or my husband's phone is plugged into it. However, since the upgrade, my App store on my phone keeps asking for the password to his account. Once in a while it will ask for the password to my account name. How do I get my phone to stop asking for his ID password?

After much browsing and searching through the forums, I found out that somehow these apps were originally downloaded using my husband's Apple ID. After deleting them, downloading them again will prompt for my Apple ID and fix the problem.

  • .how can i get an app downloades with one apple id onto another without losing any data on my app

Apps that need to be transfered: bingo blitz, dream fish, bingo bash.

All apps are tied to the Apple ID they are purchased with and are not transferable.

  • How can I change over hardware registered with one apple ID to a different ID

I seem to have created a number of Apple Ids over the years. Is it possible to have all my hardware registered to the one ID?

Sorry... Apple IDs cannot be merged...
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

Is there any way that I can download a chapter of a certain app and have it go to every iPad for the students? I have 20 students in all.

Not,sure what you mean by a "chapter of an app", but no, unless each of those iPads is using your AppleID and auto download is turned on.
