Cheers,
I'm not gonna lie, I actually have no idea if its pop or imap. Do you know where you can check and if it can be changed?
Hotmail on a Mac is POP3 only, you will only get the basic folders (inbox, sent, trash etc) and it will not sync with other devices.
And now I post this I see other replies, so this is redundant. !!

How can I set up two separate accounts on one shared iPad?

The iPad is meant to be a single user device.
It is possible to use multiple ID's on an iOS device, but when you switch ID's and download content with another ID, you associate the device with that ID for 90 days and lock yourself out of the other ID for that 90 day period.
So while it is possible, it's not advisable.

  • How do I set up my Hotmail account to work on my Mac

how so i set up the mail client on my Mac so I don't have to log onto Hotmail to view my mail.
I have tried setting it up but it does not synk with online. so i see all my mail as unread.
    How do i fix this?

First be sure that your external USB HDD is formatted in either HFS+ or FAT32 as these will be the only two disk formats that the Extreme can share out to network clients.
Once you verified the format, you just need to connect the HDD to the USB port on the Extreme. Finally you would use the AirPort Utility to enable the HDD for sharing.
For AirPort Utility v6.x: Start the utility > Select your AirPort Extreme > Select Edit > Select the Disks tab. Verify that the utility correctly identifies your HDD. Then select (check) the "Enable file sharing" option, and then, select Update. After the base station updates, you should be able to "see" the shared HDD in Finder on your MacBook Pro.

  • How can i remove my mail (hotmail) account on my ipad? Dont want everybody using my pad to enter my mail thank tou

I enter my data to go directly in my hotmail when im on my pad.  But i dont want want everybody to go on my hotmail account when they using my ipad.  How i can block them or erase my account?
    Thank you

Go to Settings, mail, and you should see something for hotmail at the top.  when you click on it,it opens another screen that will have a delete button at the bottom.   Just hit that delete button and it will remove the ability of someone looking at your email when they click the mail app.
You cant really block others from lookng at it if you allow them to use your ipad.

  • How do I set up my hotmail account in Mail?

Is there a way of doing this? I can't seem to get past the "Incoming Mail Server" screen when trying to add the new account. It tells me the server isn't responding. What should the server name be? I've tried mail.live.com, pop3.live.com, and a bunch of others I hoped would work, but nothing. What am I doing wrong?

    Aww that's lame Thank you!

  • I have just bought a mini ipad for my daughter set it up in my apple id so she could keep all her apps games etc, how do i set up a seperate account for her ipad and also keep my own id @

I have just bought a mini ipad for my daughter and used my apple id to set it up for her so she can keep all her apps and downloads of my ipad that she was using, i was wondering how do i give her, her own apple id so that she can keep all her apps and then i can two seperate accounts ?

You cannot transfer the purchases to another account. What she has purchased with your account will always be tied to your ID. That's the way that it works. You can have her create her own Apple ID to use with Cloud account, FaceTime and Messages.
But if you create a new ID for her, she will have to flip flop between the two Apple ID's in order to update apps, and if she wants to make purchases with her own ID, you also have to consider the fact that she may run the risk of locking herself out of her own ID by downloading a past purchase using your ID, after she starts buying with her own ID.
Read this about associated devices in iTunes.

  • How do I set up an exchange account on my iPad?

I had an account set up and it kept telling me my password was wrong so the advise was to delete the account but I forgot to copy down all the other fill in the blanks.

I know that some exchange servers block mobile devices, but I've been using an app called "Outlook Mail Pro" (click here) on my iPad successfully with multiple Exchange accounts for a long time now. Even if your exchange server allows mobile devices, but your primary need is only email - you might want to check it out. I like being able to keep my work-related accounts in a separate app from my personal email.

  • How do I set up a 1and1 account on my iPad withi iOS 6

Depending on the type of modem that your new ISP provided to you, you may...or may not...be able to setup the Guest Network function.
    To check....
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the next box that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
If your "new" modem is compatible for the purpose, enter a check mark in the box next to Enable Guest Network and enter the network name, security, password, etc.
Click Update to save the new settings and the AirPort will restart and come back to a green light in about 30 seconds
If the option to Enable Guest Network does not even appear, check with your ISP to see if they can supply you with a simple mode....not a modem/router or gateway device.

  • How do you set up an O2 account from the iPad?

I received the iPad yesterday (I know, lucky me) along with an O2 SIM card. I put the card in and a dialog popped up saying it would connect to the network. it now shows the 'O2 - UK' logo and a signal strength in the top-left corner but what happens next? No magical configuration screen has popped up and I can't see anything obviously to click (tap) on to arrange a contract.
    Am I missing some magic?
Ok, ignore me - I was missing some magic!

That is the correct way to do but you can't do it at Apple Store if you don't bring your own computer there. The problem is all Kiosk Mac in Apple Store running iTunes in Activation-only mode so you can't update that setting with iTunes.
I was at Frankfurt yesterday. The staff at Apple Store assisted me to sign an improper contract with Vodafone because he didn't know the process. He took me to a web page (via Wifi) then let me enter an information. The correct way is by supplying a correct APN setting. Then open Safari (via 3G). Later you will be directed to the correct web page that let you enter sign the contract. I find out this later when I go back to home and then sync the iPad with my computer.
I think this is also unexpected for Apple Store Staff but hey you can update iPad firmware to include all require Carrier settings before shipping to the store. Then there is no issue with this.

  • How do I set up a hotmail e-mail account on my iphone?

How do I set up a hotmail e-mail account on my iphone?

Microsoft just changed this POP mail item this month - they now allow this with a HOTMAIL PLUS account -
I was finally able to set up my iphone to support my Hotmail Plus email account. I did make a mistake initially which caused it to fail at first so I delete the new account and tried again - here are my steps:
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Go to Mail
    3. Go to Add a new Account
    4. Click Other
    5. Click the POP button - do not leave it on the default IMAP button (this is where I mady my mistake.
Then fill in these values as the prior poster noted:
NAME: Enter your name here, or some other value.
ADDRESS: Enter your full hotmail email address
DESCRIPTION: Create a description such as "hotmail account"
    INCOMING MAIL SERVER
    Host name: pop3.live.com
User name: (enter your full hotmail email address)
Password: (enter your password for this account)
    OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
    Host Name: smtp.live.com
User Name: (enter your full hotmail email address)
Password: (enter the password for this account)
    Under the ADVANCED SETTINGS
Make sure incoming and outgoing SSL is 'ON' - Authentication is set to Password
Pleaes note also that my hotmail account has a couple thousand emails in it going back several years so my iphone started inporting the first 200 - then it stopped, so I had to delete many of them, check for mail again and it imported some more, then I deleted more, imported more, and on and on - and it seems to do it by date, so the oldest messages come in first - justs something to keep in mind.
If you don't have a hotmail plus account - it might be worth the $20 a year to get this access if you use your hotmail alot. It beats forwarding messasges to another email to come into your phone or useing some third party like izy that than has your password info.
