How do I set up my kids laptop to have to ask for wireless internet password everytime?
I don't want my kids to be able to just click on a web browser and automatically connect to the internet. I want the wireless internet to require a password everytime in order to log on to the wirelss router.

The AirPort Extreme (and other Apple routers) do not have this type of capability. Using the AirPort Extreme, it is possible to enable one or both of the following options:
1) Require a password to to connect to the wireless network every time the network is accessed
2) Set up daily time limits for each device that will be allowed to connect to the wireless network
If you need an applicaton to control access to the Internet or specific sites on the Internet, you might take a look at OpenDNS as a potential solution.

I read a way on another forum to fix this problem. Right click on the setup.exe and select "Run as administrator" this should solve your problem.

Setting up SafePoint on NAS, myCloud doesn't ask for username and password
I couldn't find an answer to this in the forum. I'm trying to set up a Safepoint on a Synology NAS. I have it configured so that you need a user name and password to access this share the safepoint should go to. When I try to set the Safepoint up in MyCloud it will find my NAS, but will then say "Retrieving Shares", but won't show any.I believe this is where I shoudl be asked for a username and password. Maybe the MyCloud can't see the share because I haven't eneter the credentials yet, but I don't know where else to enter them. I tried it in different browsers in case it's some sort of JavaScript problem, but it also doesn't work in other browsers either. For security reasons I'm not keen on having the share public, without user name and password. How can I create a Safepoint on my other NAS?
According to the WD My Cloud User Manual it appears that one has to select the NAS where they want to save the share first before they are possibly given a screen where they can enter in a user name and password. See Chapter 11 in particular Steps 3 and 4 under "Creating a Safepoint". Step 4 shows an example of the username/password screen. If the Synology NAS is not being detected by the WD My Cloud user interface then obviously there is either a problem with how the Synology NAS is detected on the local network or a problem with the WD My Cloud detecting specific NAS devices on the local network. It goes without saying that both devices should be on the same local network and have IP addresses in the same IP range. For example both should have IP addresses in the 192.168.1.x range. Powerbook G4 Laptop, wont use PC card for wireless internet.
I have a G4 powerbook laptop and this model was actually put together prior to airport being installed. What I've been trying to do is insert a 802.11g card into the PC slot. I've tried both netgear and motorola and while it will detect both, it won't see it as a viable wireless internet option. I've been told that the Motorola card, wn825g, is one of the more successful options. Does anyone know a way to install the right drivers *or where to find* so that my network preferences look for aiport cards? I've been told that this card would be detected as airport but i've had no such luck.

As I mentioned earlier, the main time when this becomes an issue is if you need to do something involving associating a computer with a particular AppleID. Careful management of your collection should minimize this situation.

So the first account is really "yours" and you are setting her up with her own account? It helps to know this because if both are "hers" then there isn't an issue with her having full access to both accounts. If in 10 years she moves 2000 miles away and she is pretty much independent then you may not want her to have full access to your AppleID just so she can authorize a device. -

What is your server environment (Windows Server, or Mac OS X Server, or Linux)?
What security is implemented in your environment - as what is restricted (RDP for all or specifc credentials on all machines? Are you part of local admin group to the server you wish to connect)?
Does your environment Support CISCO IPSec connection? If so use Settings> VPN and IPSec tab to enter VPN details, if not then go with above suggestion. IF your restricted to RSA then either built in VPN settings or 3rd party app for RSA would suffice.
Finally, there are many RDP applications out there I use "Mocha RDP Light" (free minimal ads when launched not when connecting). -

what is an smpt password? I have problems sending photos using the stamp at the bottom because it asks for some smpt password and I have no clue to find out what it is, how to set one of find one if I somehow put one in and don't know what it it.
It's the password for your outgoing mail in your Mail account. You need to set it up in your Preferences.

the usb and even works on the Imac through wifi and bluethood tethering but NOT through usb!!.
the problem is that trying to make it work i deleted the "profile" usb iphone on the network prefereces panel. Now i only have 3 options: ethernet / wifi / bluetooth
but not the usb iPhone i used to have.
And when i try to add a new one i dont get a USB option.

Somebody pleaseeeeeee help!!! I have just done the latest iOS 7 update beacuse I have such little space I do it through iTunes on my partner laptop, it failed halfway through and I had to start it again it completed the second time and had to restore my iPhone which I backed up before starting. Now it's all done I am trying to access my App Store and it asks for my partners password to sign... I have gone to settings and everything is signed in as me. How can I change this???
