Those choices are controlled via System Preferences, Trackpad.

    Hello,
In order to turn a tet into Hyperlink, you first need to select the text and then in the toolbar look for "Links" option. Click on the dropdown and either select one of the pages or type in your own link.
Please have a look at the video below : http://trainingwebcom.worldsecuresystems.com/SachinFTP/2013-02-15_1945.swf

  • How do I set up iCloud if I can't acces it in my system preferences?

All I want to do is turn on 'Find My Mac' in iCloud.  Unfortunately I never moved my mobileme account over to icloud before mobileme was shut down (because it wasn't actually my account. My mom and I shared it but it was hers so I didn't want to mess with it). I have set up iCloud on my iPhone and i now have a @me.com email seperate from my apple ID, but when I go to system preferences and click on 'iCloud' under 'Internet and Wireless'
^^ this pops up. So then I click 'Move to iCloud' and
^^ this pops up. SO then I 'Visit iCloud.com' and
I am directed ^^ here.  As I've said, I've already created an iCloud account and I have an Apple ID so everything works fine once I log in except I don't know how to add my Macbook as a device in the 'Find My iPhone' section. But from what I know the only way to turn on 'Find My Mac' is to go through the iCloud selection in system preferences, which I am unable to do. So. What do I do?
Basically I can't access the iCloud settings in system preferences like I should be able to.
    Thanks!

  • How do I set up iMessage so I can send messages from my iPad to my iPhone using the same apple id

I am trying to set up iMessage so I can send and receive messages on my iphone 5 and my iPad using the same apple id.

I assume that you want to keep the same Apple ID on both devices for downloads and purchases but you just want to know how you can use Messages on both devices without creating a new Apple ID.
On one of the two devices ....Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessage at>add another email address ... and enter another working email address. After you enter the email address and it is verified by Apple, go to the InBox of that email account, read the email from Apple and follow the instructions to complete the verification. Then go back to the settings and remove your Apple ID email address. You will now use that new email address at the contact at email address for messages on that device.
You can keep your Apple ID email address and use that one on the other device.

  • I have multiple users & devices on my apple account. How do i set up icloud so we can have our own emails?

I have multiple devices$ users on my apple account. How do I set up icloud so that we can have our own emails?

iCloud isn't designed for multiple users. Everyone involved should have their own separate iCloud account, which means they need a separate Apple ID to create it: and each should be using a separate user account on the Mac to sign into their iCloud account.

  • How do I set my downloads to open in the finder ?

How do I set my downloads to open?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If I understand your question correctly, you want to know how to 'open', view, or install something you've successfully downloaded from the internet and saved in the Downloads folder.
I am unable to determine which operating system you are using on your MacBook. Your profile lists iOS 5, but iOS5 is for an iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad, not MacBook.
Your MacBook likely has one of the OS X 'cats': 10.4 Tiger, 10.5 Leopard, 10.6 Snow Leopard, or 10.7 Lion. Click on the Apple icon in the top left menubar and select About This Mac to see which operating system you are using.
If you are using OS X 10.7 "Lion", you should post your question in the OS X 10.7 Lion forum here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/mac_os_x_v10.7_lion
These instructions are for a Mac using OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" but the process is very similar with OS X 10.5 Leopard.
    Here's one way:
Open Finder by clicking on the icon in the lower left corner of your Dock.
Under Places in the left column, click on the 'House' icon in the left column. It probably has your name after it.
That will open a list of file folders and files in the right column.
    Click on the Downloads folder.
Clicking on the Name column heading in the right column will sort the file list by that column.
Clicking on the column heading a second time will sort the file list in reverse order.
    Locate the file you want.
Single click on the filename and press the space bar to preview many types of files, including documents, spreadsheets, and images.
To open the file, double-click on the filename.
If the file has the extension .dmg, it is a disk image file (program to be installed) and will open the file installer dialog. You will likely need to enter your Administrator password to install the program.

  • How do I burn a CD when I can't find it...

This is a ridiculously simple thing. I can't figure it out. I want to burn a CD from a flash memory drive. I inserted a black CD (and verified it was blank via System Profiler). My problem is two fold:
    1. I can't find any application from which to start the CD burning.
    2. a CD icon does not appear on my desktop or in my applications, so I don't know how to eject the CD either.
I'm a 15 year user of PCs. I'm not familiar with Macs. Please help!
    Thanks,
    Dan

When you insert a blank CD, you should be asked if you want to open it in the Finder or iTunes or whatever.* Open it in the Finder and it should show up on the desktop. If it doesn't show up on the desktop, go to the Finder, choose Finder -> Preferences, click the General icon in the window, and make sure the CDs, DVDs and iPods button is checked. Then just drag files onto the CD icon. When you're done, drag the CD to the trash icon on the dock -- you'll notice the trash changes to a burn icon. Drop it and it'll burn the disk.
    * If you don't see this window, you may have set it so one of these actions is the default. Do iTunes or Disk Utility open automatically when you put in the blank disk? If so, you've got to go to System Preferences, then click the CDs & DVDs icon, and for the When you insert a blank CD item, make sure it's set to "Ask what to do" -- then the next time you insert a blank CD, you'll see the window I'm talking about.

  • RMAN duplicate target using set until telling me it can not find data files

I have RMAN scripts that I use freqently to clone a database from DB (production) to another (non-prod). These work just fine. I use the set until so that I can tell it at what point I want the new DB to be created from the backups of the source.
I had a request to go back a few weeks and the backup files (I do compressed backups to disk) were on tape. I had my backup person restore my backup directory for the source DB as it looked on a certain day (May 28). I have an 8 day retention policy and so the backup files that were restored showed files all the way back to 5/20 ( includes the point I want to use in my set until clause).
However, whenever I try to execute the rman clone, it tells me for each datafile:
RMAN-06023: no backup or copy of datafile 1 found to restore
Like I said, I am able to do this for a current backup that is on disk. I moved the backup files to the source db server and it works fine. However, from these files restored from tape it errors.
    Here is the RMAN script:
    spool log to c:\temp\clone_CSPROD_CSPRSUM1.log;
    #connect to catalog <catalog info>
    # target is the source and auxiliary is destination
    #connect target <put in source info here>

    Maybe making progress.
I got into RMAN and did a List backup command. In looking at the output, I see that it does have the 5/20 backup showing. Here is part of the output:

What I am not sure is if the SCN I used in my set until sequence command was from 5/20, when I look at the backup pieces that it is reading to restore from, they appear to be from backup files taken from June.
(e.g channel d1: reading from backup piece F:\BACKUPS\CSPROD\D3\CSPROD_DATA_6148 -- this is a 6/16 backup file).
Also, as you can see it was not able to do a media recovery.
Thanks in advance for your help.
