How do i set up wireless printing on my J6410 without a start up CD?

I brought the Officejet J6410 All-in-one quite a while ago and only started using it recently.
I want to set up wireless and have searched all around the web for a few hours but cant find anything.
I finally came across a website that told me that i need a start up CD to set up wireless but i have completely forgot where i have put my CD.
Can anyone help me by telling me where i can buy this CD? Or if there is another option to set up wireless.
Thanks for your time.

  • How do I set up wireless printing of my Officejet Pro 8500 on a laptop with Windows 8?

How do I set up wireless printing from my all in one Officejet Pro 8500 printer to my laptop with Windows 8?

You can set up your printer for wireless pretty easily if you have the Full Feature Software installed on your computer for your printer.  The setup is done as part of the installation.
Read through below, then select how you wish to proceed.  There is a video to assist - see below!
                                                               Install Printer Driver / Software
If your printer stops working (and it’s not a hardware problem), it may be due to software or driver issues.  There are tools to help you diagnose the problem and help documents to guide you to success.
You might just desire extra features for your printer, or need extra tools to help with scheduled maintenance.
In many cases, you can (re)install the Full Feature Softwarefor your printer to enhance its capabilities.  The HP Solution Center is an integrated part of the FFS.  For e-print, you will want the e-print software.
If you have the CD that came with your printer, use that to install your Printer software  -- IF the CD is compatible with your current Operating System.  If you do not have the CD, or if the software on the CD is outdated, then you can use the online installation tools.
(Re)install the basic driver or HP Printer Full Feature Software or other software for your printer:
Drivers control hardware connected to the computer (wired or wireless)
Software controls the programs that interact with the User
Go to the top of the forum page to Support and Drivers
     Officejet Pro 8500 Series
Enter your Printer Model information, and then go to Software and Drivers...
Enter your Operating System in the Drop-down menu...  Click NEXT and Scroll down
Look for category Driver - Product Installation Software
Select the appropriate Basic Driver, e-print, or Full Feature Software, as appropriate
NOTE:  You may also wish to download the Print and Scan Doctor and / or other Tools from Category - Utilities
Save the *.exe installation package(s) on your computer
Pay attention to the name and the location of the file(s) when you save the file(s).  The file(s) will likely save to the "Downloads “folder.
You may remove your existing printer software with the following tool.  Fixit is of particular use when the existing printer software is being replaced due to severe problems with the printing program.
Fixit -- Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled
NOTE:  If you have a recent working version of the Full Feature Software on your computer, you may opt to skip removing the existing printer software in the above separate step.  During installation of your Full Feature Software, when the installer package detects the “old” printer software on your computer, the program will ask you to remove that old software:  The program will then invoke an internal printer software removal program that is written to remove printer software.  Once most of the old printer software is removed, you will be asked to Reboot your computer and log back in.  After you log in, the final bits of the old printer program(s) are deleted and the new software will be installed.  Depending on your system, the whole uninstall and install process might take as much as eight to twelve minutes.
Remember to Install the programs from Category Utilities first, if applicable, as these are smaller in size.
Install the downloaded Printer Software package last.
If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select ‘run as Administrator’ and install.
    NOTES:
If using: Download and install the driver software before connecting a USB cable.
After the initial installation is complete, be sure to check for and install any relevant updates  - check Category  - Update.  The Updates are important and can mean the difference between software that works as expected and software that does not work.
You may also wish to check for a Category named Firmware.  Installation of any package in this Catagory is personal choice and must be based on the contents in the package and whether or not your printer is working as expected.

how do I set up wireless printing between my desk jet 2542 and my computer?

    Hello danamaple,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Depending on the Operating System installed on the computer, setting up the Deskjet 2540 can be done different ways. The easiest and most popular method is to use a USB cable and the printer software to setup wireless on the printer.

  • How do I set up wireless printing to my Airport Express?

I run my 17" MBP through a DLink wireless router which is located next to my modem in my basement. I have an Airport Express station (not the Base or the Extreme) which I used to use for wireless iTunes serving to my stereo, but which I now wish to use as a wireless print server in my study upstairs. I am not, however, using the Airport Express station for internet.
I can't find any useful instructions or step-by-step guides to set up a printer on my Airport Express. Can anybody point out how to do this and/or refer me to the appropriate KB article?
    Many thanks,
    Dustin LindenSmith

Yes but they don't seem to be making it to the post to be deleted Punctuation seems to be a possible cause
If your goal is to use one network with the AE and your other router online the AE needs to be connected to the modem as the base station as the AE can only be a wireless bridge with an Airport Extreme or connect the AE via ethernet from your other router
The printing is usually as easy as plugging in the printer and selecting it from your printer list AE is a print server and I use a 4 port hub with 4 printers connected They used to be listed as Rendezvous printers but lately mine are just showing as a connected printer but is printing wirelessly
Finder > Applications >Utilities > Airport Setup and Airport Admin utilities are pretty straight forward for setting up the routers. I have had and there are still issues being reported with the AE and certain configurations. My first gen MBP1.1 could see it but not connect and my MBP2.2 connected immediately and settings on both machines were the same.

  • How do I set up wireless printer w/o use of CD?

    Hello,
I spent a couple of hours trying to enable wireless connection to Brother MFC-J825DW printer. I was able to add a printer using USB cable, but how do I go about setting up the wireless printer setting without use of supplied CD? Laptop has OS 10.7.
Thanks in advance for your help.

From the Brother web page noted above:
My PC does not have a CD-ROM drive. How can I install the supplied software without a CD-ROM drive?
    Description:
The latest version of drivers, software* and manuals are available on the Brother Solutions Center.
    (*except for some software)
To download the drivers and software go to the Downloads section.
To download the manuals go to the Manuals section.
And for step-by-step network installation, see http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/faq/faq/000000/002700/0 00094/faq002794_005.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=mfcj825dw_all&Cat=108
If this is more than you want to do, then as Ziatron suggested above, drop $79 on the Apple SuperDrive.

  • How do I set up wireless printing?

    First, some very brief background:
For years I had a Motorola wireless router, with an Airport Extreme plugged into it.  I plugged my HP printer into the Airport via USB.  Via this setup I was able to print wirelessly.
Today I switched internet providers and got a new, Netgear router which has a USB port for printers.  I jettisoned my Airport, plugged the printer into the netgear and got nowhere.  I plugged the printer directly into the iMac so it could see it, and then plugged the printer back into the router.  Nothing.  I cannot get the iMac to see the printer wirelessly via the Netgear router.  I called the new internet provider and they told me to reinstall the HP software from scracth, which I did to no avail.  Any suggestions?
The iMac is the 20.5" aluminum, latest model, running Mountain Lion.  The router is a Netgear and the printer is an HP.

Update: I plugged the printer back into the Airport and the airport into the Netgear router and now that doesn't work, either.

  • How do I set up wireless printing through a PC

My MAC and my PC see each other and share files, but I can't seem to get the printers to print from the MAC. They are attached to the PC via USB cables. I can see the printers on the MAC; I can select them and a little window flashes on the screen too fast to be seen, but nothing happens. Any ideas?

I have been told that I must either install AppleTalk on my PC or I must install LPR. I know what AppleTalk is, but not LPR and so far have not received a definition. Neither my Windows Istallation disk, nor my HP Printer disk seems to have either on them. I have not discovered where to get them. If you manage to figure it out, please let me know.
    Thank you.

  • How do I set up wireless printing from my lide 120 to a brother hl-3170cdw

Looks like scanners are the poor relative in the community, I do not see any place to ask this question other than "General Discussion".
To expand on my subject line...there is absoutely no indication of communication between my Windows 8.1 laptop and my Brother HL-3170 CDW wi-fi printer when I attempt to print from my CanoScan LiDE 120 scanner. Documents created on the laptop go to the printer with no problem. Is there a setup screen on the 120 that I have not found? Where do I start trouble shooting his problem?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I think I have found the answer. The official answer from Cannon is 'gee, that's too bad. Call Microsoft, it is their problem'. I could not believe my ears. They had zero interest in making their product work with the most popular operating system in the world (Win7). To start at the beginning, this was the problem: My printer is a HP LaserJet M1212nf MFP. I am using the USB port. Using your software utility, I can scan to "MY Documents" and I can print anything from there. BUT, absolutely nothing happens when I try to use the scanners buttons. I bought this for my techno-phobic daughter and it is essential these buttons work. I have read all 262 pages of your manual and have not found the answer, however it may be related to page 223. I try to follow the instructions there but the options given in your manual are not available. All it shows is "no application registered for this event". Before you ask, my antivirus program is Microsoft Security Essentials. I am the only user of this computer therefore I have Administrative Privileges.  To fix it i was essentially told to pound sand. Fortunately my daughter is running Windows 8.1  Things worked somewhat better but manual page 223 left me confused. Win 8 step 4 "select an event" implies there is an 'all events' button. There is not. There are choices for copy, PDF, auto and send. The instructions are ambiguous but I selected 'copy' and let it go at that. I am tires if working with it. I know this is a cheap scanner and that you get what you pay for but surely one has the right to expect it to work as advertised.

  • I bought a used Mac Book from the widow of a neighbor who had died.  We don't know the password.  How can we get in to set up wireless printing??

I bought a used Mac Book from the widow of a neighbor who had died.  I am trying to set up wireless printing for a new HP printer and it asks for the Administrators password.  Is there any way to break through this and create a new password?

Is the Macbook running? If yes, go to Apple Menu About This Mac to find out the version of Mac OS X you are running.
If the computer is not working, do you know the model, or the version of the operating system on the MB?
You can track down some information with the serial number. Here's how to find the serial number:http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1366
With the serial number you can identify the model on this site:
    http://www.powerbookmedic.com/identify-mac-serial.php
When we know the model it will be much easier to answer your questions.

  • Problems setting up wireless printing

I can set up to print from my laptop with a USB connection to the printer. I want to be able to print when away from my desk, so have tried for 2 years, on and off, to get my printer to print wirelessly. I've probably spent 10+ hours trying to get this set up. In the end, I always end up having to reinstall the printer with the same old USB connection.
This is driving me crazy. I'm a tech writer for a software company and am very computer savvy. Yet my non-techie family members have all managed to set up wireless printing at their homes in 5 minutes or less with different brands of printers.
Here are the steps I'm following, though I have also tried numerous variations, such as trying it with my USB cable connected vs. disconnected.
    1) Uninstall current (USB) printer installation.
    2) On the printer itself, verify that Settings > Network Settings are at the defaults.
    3) Using most recent drivers and installation .exe from the HP website, start a new printer installation.
    4) When prompted, select "wireless installation."
RESULT: Even though my firewall is OFF, it searches and says there are no printers on the network. (Huh? What network?)
    5) Try again, and this time select "network installation."
RESULT: Even though my firewall is OFF, it searches and says it can't detect a network.
If wireless installation requires a network, but network installation does not cause a network to be installed, I'm not sure where to go from here.
    6) I've also tried downloading and installing the ePrint utility, but when I get midway through the installation, it tells me it can't find my printer.
I'm suspicious that my model M1212nf MFP may not even allow wireless printing. Some info on the HP website says to check that a particular button lights up to show the printer is online. This light doesn't exist on my printer model. On the other hand, my physical printer's settings has settings like: "display IP address," etc., that would lead me to believe that it can operate wirelessly.
I have read all of the related HP printer help, and there is nothing that explains in simple language what types of cables I need to set up a network and/or wireless connection, when to plug them in, which installations to perform out of the many add-ons available, etc. I am sure this is a 5 minute process if there was just some good explanation in the UP help of how to do it. Assistance would be appreciated!

    Hello @SKYdiz,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you have had issues for the last 2 or so years and spent multiple hours attempting to configure your HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf Multifunction Printer for wireless printing. At this point I'm going to offer some additional information on this matter. First, are you sitting down?
Unfortunately, the HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf Multifunction Printer is NOT a wireless model printer. The 'nf' at the end of the printer name stands for 'network, fax'. Therefore, while your printer is not wirelessly capable of connecting to your router, it CAN connect with an ethernet cable.
All you need to do is connect an ethernet cable from the rear of your printer into your router. Than any devices connected to that same router (either through wireless or wired ethernet connections) would be able to 'see' your printer on the network and print to your printer. For more information regarding the ethernet setup on your printer, please refer to: Setting Up the Printer for a Wired Network in Windows 7 for the HP LaserJet Printers.
Now if an ethernet connection does not work in your specific network configuration, than HP does manufacture other Laserjet models that do use the wireless feature. Here are two Laserjets that are black only, multifunction wireless units that are similar to your current model printer : HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw and HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw.
Please let me know if this clears up any confusion. Should you have any other questions or concerns I will be more than happy to assist you. Happy New Year!

  • How do I set up my printer to only print in black?

how do I set up my printer to only print in black?

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system?   Depending on your printer model you might remove the color cartridge, forcing black only printing, or select "Print in Grayscale" and "Black ink only" in the driver.
Some printer models (whether from HP or other manufacturers) may not allow printing in black if the color inks are empty.  There are also some other constraints, black only printing is generally not available when printing on photo papers and may not be available when printing with an automatic two-sided duplexer.
