How do I share a book with my daughter or wife.?

I use iTunes to buy books and read them on my iPad.  If I had a paper book I could share it with my wife or daughter.  How can I share once it is on my iPad ?

If they have iOS devices, the can download the books to their iTunes library by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
and then sync.
If the devices have iOS 4.3 or later they can download them directly to their device following the instructions in the above article.
They will have to sing the iPod/iTunes into the account that purchased them.

  • How do I share itunes purchases with my daughter?

I have purchased some songs on itunes for my daughter who is 11 so doesn't have her own itunes store account.  How can I share them with her?  We use the same computer with Windows 7, with different user logins and both have our own itunes library.  Home sharing doesn't seem to work, maybe because we are on the same computer? Any suggestions?

If you make sure that your iTunes account is authorised on her version of iTunes (Store > Authorise This Computer) then you should be able to copy those songs from your windows logon on to her logon and then add them to her iTunes library (File > Add File To Library, or Add Folder To Library) - so you probably need to have separate copeis of the songs

  • How do I share one book with a class set of ipads

I am new to ipad I was given 14 iPads and want to be able to share books(class set) and documents with all of the iPads so that we could review the books and documents together

For books, see my previous post to you: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5239492?tstart=0
For sharing documents like PDFs, I like using Dropbox. Each of your students can download the Dropbox app on his/her iPad. You can then set up a shared folder in Dropbox that each of your students can view or edit (depending on what permissions you set on the folder). From your computer or iPad, you can add PDF files to the Dropbox folder and your students will wirelessly be able to view these documents from their Dropbox app.
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I share my library with my daughter ?

I have an iphone and my daughter has an iphone.  We have 2 different itunes account and one network library.  itunes will not let me transfer music to her account from the main library.  It comes up with a red circle with a slash through it.  I have already given permission for homesharing, so I am stuck.

See this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819 it probably has to do with computer authorizations.

How do I share multiple contacts with another iPhone? Thanks in advance.

    What do you mean share?
It is not possible to send contacts from one iPhone to another without installing an app that would support this.  Bump is one such app.
There is no functionality in iOS to do this.  iCloud can share contacts across multiple iDevices, but it would be ALL contacts, just just a few.

How do I share my playlists with other accounts/users on my Mac?

    Hello,
I have a similar question, which I posted 8perhaps inappropriately) in the Home Sharing discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17405588#17405588
The problem I have is that it simply doesn't work and the question I have is how you do not move the the iTunes Library file or the iTunes Library.xml file when they are actually in the folder you are told by the article to move in the first place.

  • How do you structure a .book with an EDD?

    Hi all,
I am learning how to convert legacy, unstructured FM documents into structured FM documents and need some help. So, I created a conversion table from my unstructured documents, created the EDD, applied the EDD to the unstructured document to create a structured document and now need to tweak the EDD.
My question is, what is the correct way to layout the EDD rules for a book using multiple document styles? For example: My book contains a title page, TOC, one or more chapters, a glossary of terms, and one or more appendixes (or is that a appendicies?.)
I am thinking the element rule would look something like this:
    Element (Container): BOOK
    Valid as the highest-level element.
General rule: TitlePage, TOC, Chapter+, Index, Appendix+
Followed of course by other elements required for the structure. However, I did see an EDD that I am sure was outlined like this (though I can't recall where:)
    Element: TitlePage
    Valid as the highest-level element.
    General rule: Blah blah blah
    Element: TOC
    Valid as the highest-level element.
    General rule: Blah blah blah
    Element: Chapter
    Valid as the highest-level element.
    General rule: Blah blah blah
    Element: Index
    Valid as the highest-level element.
    General rule: Blah blah blah
    Element: Appendix
    Valid as the highest-level element.
    General rule: Blah blah blah
If the second structure is correct, how do you define the Book element? On the Adobe forum, I was told one EDD should be created for all book elements, which makes sense to me.
Okay people, fire away. Remember I am a neophyte in structured FM.
    Thanks,
    Adam

Thanks Van, that does clear it up for me... a little. My confusion now is, if I set all the book sections as valid at the highest level, then how does the book get structured as the starting point for the sections contained within it? I have tried to find a sample EDD detailing exactly this, but to no avail - my search brought up courses where this is covered, but not the actual EDD structure.
When I try to structure the book with the EDD, the book comes up red with its children elements looking just fine. Ahh! You have to love that learning curve.

Subject: How do you structure a .book with an EDD?
    Adam,
Following up on some of Russ's sage advice, you asked:
If the second structure is correct, how
do you define the Book element? On the Adobe forum, I was told one EDD
should be created for all book elements, which makes sense to me.
As Russ said, your BOOK element looks fine. Not sure how far you have gotten, but when you open a document file that is in the book, its root element will be Chapter, TitlePage, Appendix, etc. That is why you have to declare each of these as being valid at the highest level. When you click in the book file window and look at the structure view, you will see that the BOOK element is the root element, and its content will be TitlePage, TOC, Chapter, Chapter,...etc. The book and all of its component files have the same EDD. The definitions for the BOOK element, as well as the TitlePage, TOC, Chapter, etc elements are all contained in the same EDD. I hope this helps to answer your question.

How do I share my contacts with more than one group without having to re-type them into each group?

Without "pretending" to be yourself on the other phone (change settings) there's nothing else you can do.
iOS devices are meant to be single user and can't view iCloud.com the same way a Mac or PC can do.
You need to find a desktop or laptop machine (Mac or PC) to log in at iCloud.

No, use an online storage facility such as dropbox which will allow you to share content with each other.

What do you mean by "share"? You can download an app from the App Store on any Macs that you own and are signed into with your AppleID. If other family members have their own AppleIDs and purchase their own apps, they must separately purchase and download Pages from the App Store.
