How do I share an Internet connection from my iPad to my computer?

My ADSL is down and I need to get my computer on to the Internet. Can I use the Personal Hot Spot of my iPhone or iPad to accomplish this?

FreedomPop provides 500meg of free 4g cellular data per month! You do need to buy their wireless device at $39. Your machine needs wifi capability. There are ways of getting bonus megs. One gig of addition data costs $10 per month. I used about 15megs per hour of lite internet surfing.
When signing up, you need to be careful with your selections. On some screens, the free option is a small link below the large button. FreedomPop employs a Pavlovian Dog < Operant conditioning > thing of getting you used to clicking on the large button then they change the large button to a paid add-on.
Once you setup your account, you need to go to your account options screen to turn off automatic paid data download once you exceed your quota.
The performance seems a little slower than my DSL connection.

Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make/model, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases over to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. I cannot share my Internet connection from my Mac to my iPhone

When I enter the Sharing settings the box with "share you connection from" only gives me the chance of sharing from WIFI or from Bluetooth PAN, which I have no clue what is. So I assume that it is WIFI I have to click as it is a WIFI connection I want to share with my iPhone from my Mac.
In the box "To Computers using" I only get the chance of marking one box next to "Bluetooth PAN". If I do not check this box, the whole box called "Internet Sharing" is greyed out and I cannot check it. I check the Bluetooth PAN box and it says Internet sharing is on. However, I cannot find the signal on my iPhone?!
ANY IDEAS?
Oh, I use OS X 10.8.2

If your computer is already connected to WIFI, and your iPhone can also connect to that same WIFI signal, why would anyone want to enable sharing? That would be completely redundant. You share from the router.
If, on the otherhand you are trying to tether your Mac to your phone, all tethering settings are done on the phone, provided you have the service enablked by your phone carrier. Then, you are simply going to use the Bluetooth connection to tether the mac to the phone.

I'm having problems sharing my internet connection wirelessly (from my netgear router) with my TV via the AX.
I've managed to setup the Airtunes - streamling nicely through the house.
But under the internet options, sharing and the bridge option are disabled (greyed out).

To enable the AXn's Ethernet port, it would need to be reconfigured as an Ethernet bridge. Apple calls this configuration a ProxySTA.
To activate ProxySTA, you must set up the Express to join a wireless network and then enable the Allow Ethernet Clients setting; both settings are located in the Wireless tab of AirPort Utility. The feature should work with any wireless network: a, b, g, or n; and 5GHz or 2.4GHz.

It is not a backup device and media transfer is designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss.
