Sharing an Apple ID for iTunes and App store purchases is not a problem. Just enter the same Apple ID in Settings>Store>Apple ID. You can turn on Automatic Downloads here as well. However, don't share the same iCloud account unless you want to have merged calendars and contacts. To maintain separation it's best to have separate iCloud accounts with different Apple IDs. (The Apple ID you use for iCloud does not have to be the same as the one you use for purchases in Settings>Store.) What is the best way to do it?
Place an alias in my "shared" folder and access this with the applications from the different accounts ? This seems to workt for the itunes library, at least... Or do I have to mess with the righs managent ?
I dont want screw up my nice mac...

I did not think that I would have to mess with my firewall, as long as I am talking of useres on the same computer, but I guess I was wrong.
Your advice helps very much, but only as long as I am still logged in with my user name. I does not work when only my kids are logged in. There has to be a way to use these libraries without the need to log in the user that has created those folders...

2 computers, 5 family members with their own iTunes accounts. How do we share purchased iTunes and downloaded CDs with homeshare? (I can't get my old iPod music to all go onto my iPad)

I have 2 computers - Windows Based
My husband, myself and the kids all have our own "accounts" on the home computer. This was done to limit certain access when the kids were younger.
The laptop is pretty much mine. I use both computers for my iTunes music.
Everyone has their own iTunes account for their music and games. I have been able to get music purchased by my other family members on my iPod in the past if I logged in the home computer under their IDs and attached my iPod. Or, if a family member downloaded a CD, I could get that music thes same way without having to download the CD again under my own login ID. However, I now have an iPad, and I can't transfer music from the iPod to the iPad - specifically that which was downloaded from CDs - not iTunes. And I couldn't get it to go from my iPod to my laptop, although both are authorized computers in the Home Sharing.
It doesn't seem like the Home Sharing works with the different computer login IDs. The iTunes is universally available regardless of who is logged in, but the libraries vary based on who's user name you are under. I have strugged with importing from one User ID to another, which led me to simply log in under a different family member to get the desired music. There has got to be an easier answer and I'm just not figuring it out.
I've read the support answers, I've read many of the other responses here as well to those with similiar questions, but I am still struggling.
Any suggestions?

If you are completely confident that you didn't hide it, then you purchased those with different apple id. If you completely confident that you purchases with same apple id then you have hidden it. One of the other or you are speaking about a miracle. While miracles are possible they are not very likely. Remember

It probably means that only one of you can use iCloud or at least sync calender/contacts with it. I would guess that you could manually manage the other phone as you have before.

Just move your iTunes library to you new computer. You can transfer iTunes purchases to you new computer from your iPod by:

I'm on an iMac running Leopard and iPhoto 7.1.2 and Quicken 2004. My wife has one account and I have another. How do we share iPhoto libraries and Quicken input automatically across accounts on the same machine?

There are two ways to share iPhoto, depending on what you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc. then:
Quit iPhoto in both accounts
Move the iPhoto Library Folder to an external HD set to ignore permissions. You could also use a dmg.
(Some people have had success putting the library in the Users/ Shared folder. If you do this make sure the file permissions are set to allow read/write access to everyone.)
In each account in turn: Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting dialogue, select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new library location. From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.

If I wiped my phone I wouldn't have the contacts on my phone to send to my self. I would need to take just the contacts from my back up. I would have to do this through iTunes and I don't see how I can just extract the contacts only from my back up. From what I can figure out it is all or nothing

You can make one or more calendars of one iphone sharable and the other user will be able to have those sharable calanders synced. Unfortunately, you can't do that with contacts. But you could go to the computer account used by you or your husband, perform a backup of the contacts (see the file menu), copy the file to the other account used to sync the other iphone, and restore. It's a manual process that has to be performed periodically, but doable.
The other method is for each of you to use the same iCloud ID and have both iphones synced to be identical. But I don't recommend that otherwise you'll each get the same text messages and who knows what else.

To share an entire calendar via mac and icloud you will either need a iCal server or to login with your icloud account with the computer you want the calendar on. I find the easiest way to share calendars is to sync your calendar with Google Calendar. Login to Google Calendar, under the "My Calendars" Tab on the left side, find the calendar you would like to share. Hover over it with the mouse and an upside down triangle will appear a little to the right of the calendar name. Click on the triangle and click share this calendar.
