How do I share my Aperture Library on Apple TV?

Hi there! Anybody knows how to setup Apple TV home sharing top show Aperture Library instead iPhoto Library? I have everything working fine so far but I'm not able to share my Aperture Library at Apple TV. Any light on this subject? Please, help me! Thank you in advance for any clue!

I'm running iTunes 10.1.2 (17), and there is no such option under "Advanced."
I too am running iTunes v10.1.2 (17) and, as you can plainly see, there is such an option:
Which, in turn, opens this window:

  • How do I share an aperture library with multiple users?

I have Aperture on a macbook pro that is my wife's primary computer. I purchased an imac for our family and to get our pictures on a static desktop. I unintentionally migrated her as a user to the family imac. This is fine as my primary goal was to get the pictures over. However, I want her to have her own view and another for myself. However, I would like for us both the have the same view of Aperture/our pics. Is there a way to do this?
    Thank you.

Like Frank said, Aperture is a single-user app. Multi-user setups are all workarounds that can have dire consequences. Best is if you think single user and plan your setup accordingly.
You should have one primary Referenced-Masters Library containing references to all Masters. Avoid using a Managed-Masters Library for many reasons (but that is another topic). The Library should live on an internal drive and no attempt should be made to network it (because Aperture is a single-user app).
    • One option (recommended) is to maintain the primary Library on computer A and periodically make copies of the primary Library for read-only usage by computer B (like Frank said, read-only usage cannot be set so it needs to be workflow based). Computer B can also have its own fully separate read and write Library, the contents of which are periodically added to the primary computer A Library.
    • Another option (not recommended) is to have one Library and move it around depending upon which computer is using it.
    • Another option is to maintain the Library on computer A and export Projects or Albums as needed for use by computer B.
Original images should be backed up prior to being imported into Aperture or any other images app. Note that use of a Referenced-Masters Library makes all the options above more feasible because the Library stays a manageable size, whereas with a Managed-Masters Library the Library invariably grows to an uncivilized size.
Set Preview size to be the size of the largest display among the multiple computers.

  • Can I share my Aperture Library over my home network?

I am currently sharing my Aperture Library with my Apple TV via Home Sharing.  Can I also share it with a separate instance of Aperture running on a different mac on the same network (similar to how iPhoto has the built in library sharing feature)?

    "Sharing" has different meanings:
iPhoto Libraries have a feature that allow you to share your library to other iPhoto installations on the same network
The iPhoto feature you are talking about does not share the library to be used and edited by several users, it allows other user to read the images in the shared library. This is save, since other users cannot modify the shared library.
When you asked about sharing a library, I thought you meant the same Aperture library to be used from two different users - to be edited and modified.
But you are right, Aperture does not support to share the Library across the network. To share your Aperture library this way you will have to open it in iPhoto and to share it as an iPhoto Library.

  • How do I share an Aperture project with another computer?

My wife and I each have MacBook Pros running Aperture. How do we share certain Aperture projects?

There is no way to share _and sync_.  Aperture is a single-user application.  You can copy Projects from one Library to another, but changes made to the Images in the Project copied to the second Library are never written back to the original Library.
Moving Projects between Libraries is easy.
Note that you can export a Library, work on the Images in it, and then import it back into the original Library and merge your changes.
All of this is covered better than I can here in the User Manual chapter "Working with Library Files"

  • Share my aperture library on two differents mac

Hello I need to know how and if I can share my aperture library on two differents mac (one iMac and one Macbook). I' d like to work on my project also on my macbook at home with wifi and also outdoor if possible...
Thank you for the help .....

The safest way to do what you want to do, would be to put your Aperture Library on a small external disk  that you can connect to any machine you want. Apple does not support network access to the Aperture Library, so you may run into problems if you put your library onto a network volumn, see this support article:
Aperture: Use locally mounted Mac OS X Extended volumes for your Aperture library
         http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3252
However, you could decide to keep the master image files on a network volumn and have a local copy of your Aperture Library on each machine, but then you would have to take care to synchronize the two copies of your library regularly.

  • How can I share my iTunes library with 2 iTunes accounts?

How can I share my iTunes library between me and my wife?
I do not want to set-up 2 seperate accounts on my mac. Do not want to do home sharing or anything like this.
I just would like to connect my iPad to ONE itunes library and at the same time connect my wifes iPad to the SAME itunes library. Can this be done? How? Thanks! Maybe the answer is something really easy like "just connect both to the computer and sync them".
    Thanks!

Plug them in and use them.
That is all you need to do.
In the answer from Apple I do not find anything about how the 2 exisiting iTunes accounts will be handled.
    They will be handled fine.
All purchases from both iTunes accounts can be sync'd to both/either iPads with no problem.
I have three iTunes accounts (me and two daughters), 3 iPhones, an iPad and a few iPods.
Any/all content can be sync'd to any device, no problems.

  • Is it possible to share an aperture library with different users using osx server.

is it possible to share an aperture library with different users using osx server.

Not really.  You should not be sharing an Aperture library over a network.  It's not designed for that and you'll likely corrupt your library at some point.

You could set up two completely separate libraries and share music via Home Sharing.

Thank you Joe - I tried this but it's only showing a teensy amount of music - the stuff on the second users account as opposed to the giagntic library on the 'main' account. I actually went to a Genius Bar and they said that apple doesn't really want you to share music between accounts - parents don't want to hear their kids music etc. Which seemed strange, but it might be the case sadly   Thanks anyway!

Another alternative is she can select tracks from your library copy and just add them to her library. Then she does not have to bother with switching between two libraries.
