How do I share photo slideshows?

How do I share photo albums ?

You can use a 3rd part app from iTunes Store like Photo Transfer App or Photo Transfer WiFi.

How do I share photos and music between different user accounts on the same Macbook? i.e. I want all to be able to access family photos when logged into their respective accounts. Same goes for the iTunes library. Hope this is possible...
    Thanks!

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.
To give others selective access to your iPhoto library, you have the option of using iCloud Photo Sharing, if the privacy implications don't bother you. The images will be stored temporarily on Apple servers.
If you want to give full read/write access to more than one user, see the support articles linked below.

There is a way to share the library without moving it to a secondary volume. If you really need to do that, ask for instructions.

Export it to the Desktop using the File -> Export commad. This makes a movie of it and you can then share that.
I would caution you that as movie files are very large you might be best uploading to a sharing site or service like Dropbox and sending them a link

How do I share photos to another icloud user via icloud?

You can't view your photos at icloud.com.
Photo Stream merely "pushes" your photos to your other devices (computer, Apple TV, ect). It pushes them for 30 days and has a 1,000 photo limit.

    The Desktop is the Finder.
How are you sending it? By email?
Video files are huge. They are not suited to sending via email. Most email services have a limit of 20MB on the size of an email, some are oly 10mb
Upload the video to a sharing site - YouTube, Vimeo, YouSendit whatever - and send a link to the recipient. They can then download the file for themselves.

  • HT4007 how can i share photos between users on the same mac?

    Dear All,
My wife and I use the same MacbookPro, but our own different login Accounts on the Mac, how can we share photos bewtwen these 2 accounts.
Say, I've downloaded some pics from my camera and would like to transfer to her login account.
Can I do it on the desktop level or can I use iPhoto to do this? I'd like to know how to do bothways, without having to duplicate the files(ie saving 2 copies of the same file on the computer)
Isn' there a 'New' feature on iPhoto / Aperture saying that it uses the same 'Unified' library or something ?
Can this feature help? but how to activate?
    Pls help.
    Thanks

Macs have a folder called "Public" for this purpose.  See this from Finder's help:
Share files with others using a drop box
To give a copy of a file to another user, you can copy the file to the person’s Drop Box.
HidePut a file in the Drop Box of another user on your Mac
Open the user’s Public folder (in their home folder in the Users folder on your hard disk).
Hold down the Option key and drag the file to the Drop Box in the user’s Public folder.
Click the desktop to make sure you’re in the Finder, and then choose Go > Computer.
Double-click the icon for your computer’s internal disk (usually named Macintosh HD) to open its folder.
Open the Users folder, and then open the folder for the person to whom you’re giving a file.
Open the user’s Public folder, and then drag the file to the Drop Box. To keep a copy of the file for your own use, hold down the Option key while you drag.
Even though you can put items in another user’s Drop Box, you can’t open any Drop Box except your own.

If you have iPhoto on an iOS device rather than a Mac, you can create a 'Photo Journal', which is an online gallery hosted on iCloud: details here -

This facility is not as yet available in iPhoto on a Mac. If you don't have an iOS device you will need to find a third-party alternative. This page examines some options:

  • How do I share photos automatically?

How do I share photos automatically? I have an iMac with OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 and iPhoto 9.5.1. I have an iPhone and an iPad with iOS 8.3. I want to share photos in both directions between iPhoto on the iMac and the Photos app on my iOS devices. I just took a photo of myself, using Photo Booth on the iMac, and I wanted to see it on my iPhone. I found a way to do that manually by means of iCloud (see Get help with your iCloud Photo Library - Apple Support.) But is there a way to automatically have photos from any of my devices appear on all my other devices? Thanks in advance.

    OK, Larry ...
I finally got around to working on this again. Sorry for the delay. I did the things listed in the link you provided. Something is still wrong. I have 299 photos in iPhoto's My Photo Stream on my iMac, but in iCloud and on my iOS devices, only 228 show up. Several I added to iPhoto from My Photo Stream on Saturday are missing in iCloud/iOS, while two from that same batch do show up. If I select one of the missing ones in iPhoto's My Photo Stream and try to "Share" it expressly with iCloud, iCloud asks, "Shot this photo in your library?/To edit or share this photo, you must use the version that has already been imported into your library." If I click on "Show in Library" in the dialog, I am taken to the same photo in Library:Photos. If I then use the "Share:iCloud" icon while that photo is selected, I see a box that has three items: "New photo stream," "My Photo Stream," and (another photo stream I have) "WWI Shared by You." If I then click on "My Photo Stream," a dialog appears saying, "All the selected photos are already in My Photo Stream."
So it looks like the photos that are not actually present in iCloud/iOS are ones that give me this weird circular behavior in iPhoto. Do you have any suggestions or explanations? Thanks.

  • How do you share photos on the same computer between users???

    Hello,
I would like to know how to share photos on the same computer between users...
My wife and I have different user accounts on our iMac and I can't figure out how to share photos.
I tried everything as told by Apple but it seems you can only share photos on your iMac with a network. If that is what I understand...
I just want to have all the photos on my user account and when my wife is on her user account I want her to be able to view the photos.
Again, we are only using one iMac.
Thank you for your help in advance...

For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
    What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
    Regards
    TD
