How do i show Family sharing calendar in outlook?

i have the icloud add-in installed and i can see my personal calendar, but i would like to see the Family shared calendar as well. is this possible?

thanks for your reply Jeff, however this does not solve my problem.
The Family calendar is automatically created when you nable Family Sharing, as such seems to act differently from a normal calendar. i can see it on all devices and icloud.com but it is not included in Outlook when using the iCloud app for PC.

I'd like to use the Family calendar (created automatically when you set up family share) in Outlook but there is no option to share.

  • How to publish a family shared calendar?

In Calendar, Apple allows users to make a calendar public and share it over the internet with a webcal address.  However, I can't seem to find this function for the Family shared calendar that is automatically created when Family Sharing is activated in iOS 8.  Is there any way to publish a Family Sharing calendar so that other people can subscribe to it?

Well, I figured a way to do this - sort of.  Note; this is NOT the most elegant solution, nor a full/real fix.  At least you will get a read only version of the Family calendar.  The caveat in this is that you require Microsoft Outlook at some point.  To make matters worse, I'm not exactly sure of the steps I took.
My basic scenario is that our family has a Mac at home along with iPhones, but I use Windows at work.  Somewhere along the line I installed iCloud for Windows at work - and I believe during that install it saw that I have Outlook installed on my machine, and sometime during that process it created a link in Outlook to my the shared Family calendar.
I am a bit vague on this because I don't actually use Outlook on a regular basis.  I was trying it out some time ago and never went further with it, and I only went to check it after I started looking into this Family calendar nonsense.  I note that now I can CREATE an event in Outlook and it will propagate back to Family Calendar and show up on our mobile device(s).
Within Outlook, if you right click on the Family Calendar and select Sharing Settings (Image 1) you will find an option to "Publish a link to a read-only version of this calendar on iCloud.com" (Image 2).  Press the Copy Link button... then use that in your other application (Google Calendar for me).
Not exactly the best solution... but until I find something else...

  • How to view my family share calendar in outlook for mac 2011 (ical)

    Hey All
    Problem:
Want to view my family share calendar in outlook for mac 2011.
Want to have them sync on the fly (push)
Currently running 2 exchange mailboxes which have their own mailboxes and calendars which you can toggle between.
For the PC this is a relatively straight forward task.. You can add an additional calendar to outlook and you are away. Wife's PC can view her own personal exchange calendar and on a separate tab she can view, edit, print etc the family share calendar.
For outlook for Mac, I've tried a few work arounds and none of them actually work, all the Apple documentation available doesn't really cover this.
Any help would be much appreciated
    Cheers

    Hi,
According to your description, I notice that Outlook for Mac for Office 365 cannot open shared calendar.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Which account are you used, Exchange account or Microsoft account?
Would you please login OWA and test to open this shared calendar?
Outlook for Mac cannot open the shared calendar which is a sub-calendar, you have to ask calendar owner share all calendars under the default "Calendar" folder.
More details about it, for your reference:

  • Family shared calendar events not showing in Today pull-down

    iPhone 5s
    IOS 8.0.2
When I pull down the Today/Notification screen, the calendar section will not show any events that are entered in the Family Shared calendar. Calendar events in other calendars show up fine. Is this a configurable option?

I should fix a mistake in the original post. Where I said, "And when tomorrow comes around, those events don't show in the Calendar app," it should be, "And when tomorrow comes around, those events don't show in the Calendar section of notification centre."

  • Family Sharing Calendar not "sharing" events among family members

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone has a similar issue and can shed some light.
I've setup a Family with myself as the organizer.
We have 2 iMacs, 1 MacBook Pro, 3 iPhones, and 3 iPads used by my three family members.
The "Family" calendar now shows up on all devices but events made on a single device are not showing on any of the other devices.
I've read all I can find and it appears to me that the "Family" shared calendar should sync across all family members without the need to "share" the calendar as we did in the past.
Can anyone confirm that is the case?
As a quick fix I simply "shared" the Family calendar (using email address's of the family members) and it is working, but this is essentially the same way we used to share a calendar.  Just doesn't seem to make sense to me.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
    Jim

I am having the same problem. I have done some testing and have found the following:
If I create an event in the Family Calendar on my Mac it shares it with all devices; however, if I create a new event in the Family Calendar on any of my iOS devices it doesn't share with any of my devices including my Mac. This has only been an issue since I upgraded to iOS 8.1.
I hope someone can help clarify if this truly is an iOS 8.1 issue and when they might come out with another update. This is a big problem for families trying to stay up-to-date with each others schedules.
    Thanks.

  • Family sharing calendar missing

We are using family sharing. My daughters iPhone 5 is missing the family sharing calendar. She is on her own Apple id and is updated to the latest OS. when I look at the calendar app, the family calendar is not an option. She is set up on a child account but restrictions are not enabled in her phone. any help is appreciated.

    Hello Jacqui L Davies,
It sounds like you may need to change the settings for access to the Family Calendar.  See if this section of the iPad User Guide applies to your situation:
Share iCloud calendars - iPad User Guide
    http://help.apple.com/ipad/8/#/iPadc2a14a22
    Share iCloud calendars
With Family Sharing, a calendar shared with all the members of your family is created automatically. See Family Sharing. You can also share an iCloud calendar with other iCloud users. When you share a calendar, others can see it, and you can let them add or change events. You can also share a read-only version that anyone can view.
Create an iCloud calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap Add Calendar in the iCloud section.
Share an iCloud calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap the iCloud calendar you want to share. Tap Add Person, then enter a name, or tap to browse your Contacts. Those you invite receive an email invitation to join the calendar, but they need an iCloud account in order to accept.
Change a person’s access to a shared calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, tap the shared calendar, then tap the person. You can turn off their ability to edit the calendar, resend the invitation to join the calendar, or stop sharing the calendar with them.
Turn off notifications for shared calendars. When someone modifies a shared calendar, you’re notified of the change. To turn off notifications for shared calendars, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Shared Calendar Alerts.
Share a read-only calendar with anyone. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap the iCloud calendar you want to share. Turn on Public Calendar, then tap Share Link to copy or send the URL for your calendar. Anyone can use the URL to subscribe to the calendar using a compatible app.
    Hope that helps ...
    - Judy

How can I use "Family Sharing" without giving details of my credit or debit card? I do not want to give my cards data, I have always used iTunes prepaid cards.

    Hi Saramos,
When setting up Family Sharing you must have a credit or debit card as your payment method. See this article for reference -
    Family purchases and payments
When a family member makes a purchase it will be billed to any gift or store credit that they have first. If none exists it will be billed to you.
As the family organizer, you may not set your billing method for purchases to anything other than a credit or debit card. If you have a store credit such as from pre-paid cards, it may not be shared with other family members. See this article for reference -
How iTunes Store purchases are billed
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • How to re-configure family sharing if you're not recognised as the administrator?

How to re-configure family sharing if you're not recognised as the administrator? I have several apple machines. Four of them use i.o.s. 8. I want to configure family sharing, but it will not start. I says that it is already configured and suggests that I ask the administrator (it uses the name of that person, which is me) to send me an invitation. It does that on all my machines using ios 8. So I'm at a loss, how to solve this.

It sounds like you aren't logged into your (organisers) iCloud account.

  • How do i stop getting shared calendar invitations?

How do i stop getting shared calendar invitations which require a deleting action.

Going to answer my own question after searching the web a bit more...
The setting is not in the Notification Center, where you'd expect...  it's in the Calendar app on OS X, and in the Mail, Contacts and Calendar settings in iOS 6 (don't know about 7 yet ).
In OS X, open your Calendar and from the menu bar choose Calendar > Preferences and then highlight the Alerts tab.  Second from the bottom is a checkbox labelled "Turn off shared calendar messages in Notification Center"... it's unchecked, and you need to put a check mark (aka tick) in that box.  To be honest, I think this is poorly designed, because putting a check mark in a box to disable a setting is rather like a double negative, and probably why I've seen so many people think they have this set correctly when in fact the opposite is true.
There's a similar setting on iPhones/iPads too, and again it's hidden away, but at least it's the right way round.  Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and scroll right to the bottom.  Where it says "Shared Calendar Alerts" change this setting to "OFF" (it's ON by default).

how do I delete family sharing from my i. Pad air

    Hey Lacey07,
Depending on your setup for Family Sharing, you can either remove others if you are the organizer unless the accounts are for kids that are 13 and younger. If they are 13 and younger, they can be transferred to another Family Share account to then be removed from your account and at that point you should be good. Take a look at the article below to explain further about Leaving Family Share.
