  • How to remove keynote update notification from App Store?

Hi guys, I am trying to remove Keynote and Page update notifications showing on App Store (since I don't use those apps). I have already deleted them from App folder.
Right click on the notification does not show "remove" option (nor any other option). Any thoughts?
    Best,
    Manuel.

    Hi Imp68,
You were right, I used migration assistant earlier and it seems that it created another folder for keynote and pages ( /Applications/iWork '09 ) and I missed to see it. Deleting it solved my issue. Thanks for the tip!
    Best,

  • How do I eliminate update notifications?

The notifications on the top right are so annoying. Even after swiping them away, they reappear every 5 minutes or so. It reminds me increasingly of those super annoying Microsoft updates on PCs, which is part of the reason why I switched to Apple. I will update when I have the time--I don't need a pop up reminder every 5 minutes. I tried to change preferences in SYSTEM PREFERENCES --> NOTIFICATIONS but to no avail. Also, I found a discussion that gave instructions for editing the preferences in the App Store Update area, but to no avail.
Those annoying update messages are most definitely NOT an Apple aesthetic. . .
If anyone knows how to eliminate it completely, please share.
    Thank you very much.

The commands are not dangerous as long as you copy and paste, the files will recreate themselves automatically.
What sometimes happens is your System Preferences preference file (or other ones) that stores your preferences gets corrputed, then won't save your changes.
If it's deleted and the machine rebooted and System Preferences launched, it rebuilds this file from a backup free of corruption.
Actually I left out a line
Triple click and copy paste each line below one at a time into Terminal and press enter after each line, some might say "doesn't exist" don't worry.
Do not type the entries, you might make a fatal typo. rm is very dangerous. Have a backup of your files off the machine.
    rmdir Library/Caches/com.apple.systempreferences
    rm Library/Caches/com.apple.systempreferences
    rm Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
Then Apple menu > Restart, open System Preferences and set your preferences.
You can take it in if you wish, but it's a lot of time wasted for a quick fix is all you need.
I wouldn't lie to you, or try to trick you into running a bad command or I would be banned from the forums.
I do have a Level 7, been here for over 10 years and with Apple for 20.

  • How to get appleTV update notification?

Is there any way to set Apple TV to notify me of new updates?

No, you can't make the notification go away ... you can postpone the update by repeatedly doing what you're doing with the 'install later' option, but you have to keep doing it.

  • How to remove update notification?

How to remove the update notification as it shown '1' at the top of app store icon? I was asked to update 'facebook' but then it requires my friend's id password instead of mine.. I've signed out all of his data from my iphone, but still can't be updated by my apple id. Help me, i just can't stand with the red dot on the app store icon T_T

If the app was downloaded by your friend's account then only his account will be able to download updates to it - you can delete the app and download it via your own account, and you will then be able to download any future updates to it.

Hi. May we know the status of the phone? Did you manage to receive a notification concerning the update?
The update has been made available for the country, variant and phone: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/wp8-software-update/wp8-availability-in-asia-pac...
If you have not received any notification, try manually checking for it. Go to Settings > Phone Update > Check for Update.

The version of Adobe Flash that I am using right now is v.10 - I don't want to update to v.11 'cause v.10 shows much better performance on my PC.
How could I switch this notification off once and for all?

You can set the plugins.hide_infobar_for_outdated_plugin pref to true on the about:config page.

  • How do i remove an Update notification? I do not want to update to the latest iOS (Asian languages) which is useless to me and I don't want to waste space on my iPad. I want to be able to "Select All" instead of doing each update individually.

That's quite a title I created!  Sorry, I've never submitted a question before! ☺ I do not want to update to the latest iOS (Asian language stuff) which is useless to me and I don't want to waste space on my iPhone 4S and iPad 5. I want to be able to "Select All" updates instead of doing each update individually. It's a real pain in the you-know-what. Does anyone know how to I remove this notification (and any other updates I'm not interested in) from the Updates page? Thanks so much everyone!

Thanks so much for your time!  I wish you had a more positive answer, but c'est la vie!  I hate the fact that I cannot control my apps and feel like a hostage of the developer(s). I've read other forums and some responses were "then delete the app!"  Lame answer!  So thank you so much for your respectful and insightful reply!  Cheers.

  • How to stop update notifications for specific software updates

NOTE: I apologize in advance for the extreme length of my post & hope that someone will be willing to read it all & then be willing to help... Thanks!
I have been continually getting a Software Update notification for "Migration Assistant Update for Lion" (described "This update provides compatibility for migrating to a Mac running OS X Mavericks.") for quite a while now. IMHO, I consider my Mac knowledge/tech experience level (on a scale of 1-10, where 10 is a Mac Guru) to be about maybe 6 or 7 on average (&von a good day maybe an 8). That's assuming, of course, something like this can be quantified in that way. LOL! ;-) Anywho, I digress... Back to my question... As a general rule I don't immediately jump & install every single new update that comes out for all of my technology/electronics, no matter if Apple or Google tells me to do so. Obviously, I take all notices regarding security seriously & immediately research (unless it's forced upon me) it thoroughly before installing. This is ESPECIALLY true for apps in Apple's app store or Google Play Store, & I read a lot of the user reviews, as well as trusted tech gurus on the Web. Because NOT EVERY update is truly an improvement (mostly b/c of the failure to FULLY test them before releasing, more like unleashing, them to the public...Microsoft has mastered this FUBAR technique to absolute 'perfection', or something like that...haha!) OY, I'm so sorry for continually getting off topic. Okay, seriously now, here's what I want to know:  Is there any way to tell Apple I don't want to install one of their recommended updates & also to stop bugging me about it? I'm specifically referring to the one I mentioned above. Everything I found online about Mavericks made me want to stay VERY FAR AWAY from it. I could be wrong or found bad info, but I don't think so. Please let me know if I'm wrong, because I really want to make the best/most informed decision possible. Thanks!
That being said, today I received notifications about Apple's latest security update (2014-001), plus one for Safari.  I plan to install the security update for sure  & most likely the one for Safari (even though I stopped using it months ago & started using either Chrome, Opera or Firefox - I still haven't picked a fave, but use Chrome 90% of the time... I'm open to suggestions about these apps too...)... But, I don't want to mess with the "Migration Assistant" one.
I would really love some help from my fellow Mac users... I apologize for being long winded & will try to reign in that nagging writing flaw in future posts. Also, I apologize if I've missed something that's totally obvious & easily found on this or other forums/sites, but I really did try to find an answer before posting my question here...
Thanks Mucho to all of you who were able to read through my mini-novel (& not fall asleep in the process) & actually found my question at the end!! I would like to say "THANK YOU!!" in advance for any & all help y'all are willing to provide!!! :-D
Hope you have a FANTABULOUS day! (^_-) Sincerely, Care ;-)

Wow, now that I see how extremely long my post is on screen, I'm a wee bit embarrassed... I'm hoping someone will be willing to overlook this annoying factor & provide a suggestion... :-/ Signed w/shame, Care :-/

  • HT5362 How do I turn off notifications for Software Updates? 'App Store' doesn't show in the list of notification apps. I want the background checks for updates, just not the notifications.

How do I turn off notifications for Software Updates?
In the 'Notifications' section of the 'System Preferences' app, there is no tab for managing the notifications of System Updates nor App Store.
Hey--- I like auto-checking for updates, and hey--- I like auto-downloading them in the background.
BUT I do not like being notified of updates in the middle of working! Especially when it's iTunes updates. Grrrr.
Any chance this is easy and I just missed it?
    THANKS COMMUNITY!

My ios7 update wont download how do i make the notification go away

It wont go away until you update. You can update from the iPhones settings over wifi or with iTunes on your computer, here's a guide:

Note: Make sure you back up the iPhone before updating.
