How do I solve the crashing problem with the '11 version of iMovie?

imovie seems to have trouble with optimizing or building an interface for my older videos. If is delete them it get futher into the process and crashes again. Is there a patch for this or a process I need to follow?

Well if I follow him, he creates an Exposure Adjustment Layer.
Then he cranks up the Exposure, lightening the entire body, which he does not want. It's only the head.
So leaving the Exposure set to where he put it, he selects that adjustment layer, clicks on that white thumbnail mask first, then paints
using the brush and black. What this does is "hides" or Masks the exposure effect where he paints, it doesn't paint the picture black.
He finds having to "mask" the entire body a lot of work. So he changes the mask to black by inverting it, and changes the swatch to white.
Then being sure the black mask thumbnail is selected, he paints the head with the white color, punching a hole in the mask so the exposure setting comes through on the face.
Does that make sense?

    Hi,
I had HUGE issues with a BlueAnt Q2 on the 4, and after five exchanges, I had to get rid of the phone becuase the Apple store admited that they had "some bluetooth issues."
I still have the Q2, and I was wondering the same thing becuase I realy want an iphone.

  • How to fix the Bluetooth problems with the Treo

It’s pretty obvious by now that Palm had not intentions of addressing the Bluetooth problems with the Treo smart phones. As for me, I need to reset my Treo 700wx several times a day to keep the bluetooth connection working. At my house it simply does not work because I live in a rural area where my cell signal drops out continuously, only for a moment but that’s all it takes for the Treo loose the Bluetooth connection.
I’ve searched here on this board for a solution only to find out that I’m not the only one with this problem. I’ve searched the Internet and could not believe the endless complaints about this problem, not a single fix was to be found. I will be going to every single site I can find on the Internet where I can leave a review of this product and I would encourage others with the same problem to do the same.

The "Mobile Device" you see only shows what is on your Treo when ActiveSync is running and connected.  When it's not connected, there is "nothing".  This is good when you want to copy a file you have saved in RAM (main memory).  Connect your Treo and have Activesync run (successfully, of course).  Then, you will see all the accessible files on your Treo.
Please read the previous reply (I have added and edited it to respond to some of your questions).  Also, since I have the Card Export 3.14 for the WM5 and 6 running and it works on my Treo 750, I believe it should also work for you.  I have WM 6.  Earlier versions of Card Export actually "broke" Activesync for me.  It wasn't until very recently that I wanted to try it again, in hopes that they have fixed the bugs.  Apparently they have and I now use it to "fix" Activesync when it doesn't want to connect.
So, the latest version is 3.14 and it supports WM 5 and 6 (although they incorrectly named it Windows Mobile 2005/2006).

  • How to solve a serious problem with the Battary of my T500 laptop ?

    Hi Forum,
My personal laptop is Lenovo THINKPAD T500 2055, and its main specifications are as follows:
    - 39T6651 SBB 9 CELL LI-ION BATTERY
    - Intel Core 2 Duo processor T9400 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2)
    - 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM Memory Module 4 GB (2 x 4 GB) 1066MHz DDR31066/PC38500 DDR3 SDRAM SoDIMM Kingston.
    - 2 GB Intel Turbo Memory hard drive cache.
    - ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256MB.
    - 160 GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm.
    - Windows 7 Ultimate with the latest Service Pack (x64).
My problem precisely and concisely is the Battary. I have been using my laptop with the same battary since 01.01.2009 (Almost 3.5 Years), and the battary has been working quite OK.
Most of the time my laptop is plugged in and working with the electricity. However, A very few times I used the laptop while it is running on battery, Nevertheless, I have the habit to empty the batter once in a while i.e. Every 3 weeks, I unplug the charger and keep using the laptop till I see the warning orange sign (5%), then, I plug it in again.
Thankfully, I never had any problems with the battary nor the laptop, and when I charge the laptop usually it shows full sign (100%).
Three days ago, All of a sudden my laptop starts flashing the orange battary sign constantly while charge indicates 100%. When I try running on the battery by unplugging the AC adapter, the laptop loses power immediately and shuts down right away.
What do you think should I do? Could you please provide me any useful tips to resolve this problem?
I would greatly and sincerely appreciate all your inputs !
Thanks for your consideration of my request, and I very much look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience !
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

In the control panel goto the "Lenovo - Power Manager" and click the battery tab, there is a maintenance button in there that will let you change the charging profile for your battery.   (from memory, so exact wording may be off)
The lower the numbers you use there, the longer the battery *should* last.    These batteries degrade faster at higher charge levels, however storing them at too low of levels is also not good for them... I've read that 40% is optimal, but just not realistic if you use your computer.

  • Anyone having a crashing problem with the new Mac Pro?

I have a new Mac Pro purchased in January.  I bought it as a front end to my very large mp3 library (170,000 mp3s and over 2,000 mp4s; media is housed on a 12 TB QNAP NAS).  Since day 1 it has been a major problem.  The biggest problem I have now is random crashing--can occur any time even when I am not even using the Mac Pro, making it totally unreliable and a $5,200 paperweight.
I have had several Apple Care people working on this, but after having been passed around to 5-6 different people, they still have no solution.
    Anybody having a similar problem?

As today I'm sure I'll not make the purchase again.
The more I look into this problem, the more people and articles I find about it: and it's more than a month and no update to fix the problem.
PC alternatives are far more interesting and they still give you the choice of building your machine.
Apple was amazing 15 years ago, where is the team of developpers that created the old Mac Pro?!
I want to be optimistic too, but I'm already collecting all the info on how to build an backup machine... since I'm using Adobe CC and other interchangeable softwares, there is no more problems swithcing from Mac to PC and vice-versa.
I hope there will be a third contender entering the market soon, with a dream computer on Linux. I am on mac because of its reputation 20 years ago, but times are changing and Apple vision seems very different now.
I'm afraid that WWDC will not announce a thing relevant for the MacPro or computers, we got used now to ear only about phones and tablets...

  • [SOLVED] So many problems with the RTL8723au wireless card:

    Hello,
I have been a long time linux user (Ubuntu & CentOS) and recently switched to Arch Linux. My laptop usually has strange issues with all sorts of stuff when it runs Linux like graphics cards, brightness control, and WiFi. So far I have been able to fix the first two on my own from the wiki.
In Ubuntu I was used to having to clone into https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723au and then making the driver. After a quick modprobe 8723au the wireless interface came up and was working perfectly with NetworkManager.
After doing the same thing with Arch, NetworkManager cannot connect to the internet, neither can Wicd which gets stuck at the Authentication step. I finally disabled both of these services and used wpa_supplicant to successfully connect but after a lot of errors. I am pretty sure something is wrong with the wireless driver, and not Wicd, NetworkManager, and wpa_supplicant at the same time.
There is no output from  iw dev
'Not connected.' from  iw dev wlp0s26u1u4i2   even though wpa_supplicant is connected to the internet.
    Output of   sudo wpa_supplicant -Dwext -iwlp0s26u1u4i2 -c./wpa_test  :
(wpa_supplicant takes a good 3 minutes to connect)

Apparently one cannot run dhcpcd AND NetworkManager at the same time. I feel really stupid, but at the same time I spent most of today looking through the wiki.
For those newbies who ran into this, do this with root access:
    systemctl disable dhcpcd.service
    systemctl enable NetworkManager.service
    Marking this as solved.

  • [SOLVED][GRUB]Install problem with the new method

    Hi,
it is not my first install of Arch Linux but I have a problem with this new kind of installation method, especially with GRUB.
Here is my hard drives configuration :
    /dev/sda1 -> SSD 120 GB ntfs (windows)
    /dev/sdb1 -> HD 1 TB ext4 (data)
    /dev/sdc :
    /dev/sdc1 -> ext2 /boot
    /dev/sdc2 -> swap
    /dev/sdc3 -> ext4 /
    /dev/sdc5 -> ext4 /home
During the installation, I installed grub (with grub-install) in /dev/sdc. I assumed it was the correct drive to install it but apparently not, Windows starts automatically and I don't have the grub menu.
Should I install my system again or is there a way to boot on the livecd and install it ?
    Should I :
    1) mount /dev/sdc3 in /mnt then /dev/sdc1 in /mnt/boot and finally /dev/sdc5 in /mnt/home
    2) pacstrap /mnt grub-bios
    3) arch-chroot
    4) grub-install
    Thank you.

If you set whatever drive "/dev/sdc" is (brand and model) to boot first in the BIOS, all you need to do is install a bootloader on Arch. You don't even need a separate boot partition. It will use the /boot folder on root partition. Then install os-prober (if you don't already have this installed) and re-generate the .cfg.
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Be … bootloader
The problem is that I cannot select another hard drive. The only one available for the boot order is the Samsung 830 series (/dev/sda with Windows).
The other options are the CD drive and removable disk.
I checked that this morning, maybe I was too tired. I will check again this evening.
But if I am right and I cannot select my intel SSD (containing my arch setup) for the boot order, would the solution I described work ? I don't see why not but my knowledge are basic in Linux.
Thank you again for your help.

  • Does anyone know about the WIFI problems with the late 2008 Macbook 2.0?

    I need a Macbook but I can't afford a new one.  So I'm looking into purchasing a late-2008 Macbook 2.0.
In my research I came accross a review which said that they were having some problems with WIFI and attributed it to the metal case.
Has anyone heard of this problem and has anyone found a solution for it?
    Thanks for your help.

  • I am constantly having the same problem with the books that I buy: due to some bug, dozens of pages are missing from my ebooks. That is very annoying. A bug fix would be much appreciated!

    Any ideas pls?

After what I thought was a small victory, I still wanted to see how I could fix the song skipping issue. So I set to apply Mitch's suggestion - to erase the iPod's HD using Disk Utility, then restore the iPod settings via the latest updater. It just made sense to do so, right?
Well, I opened Disk Utility, set to erase the iPod's HD zeroing all data, walked away for half an hour or so... just to see Disk Utility hung up doing nothing.
    Situation now is:
-OS X (sometimes) recognizes the iPod... as a hard disk.
-deinstalled itunes app and .pkg, downloaded and reinstalled again.
-On last reboot, it mounted as an iPod, then iTunes asked me to "update iPod software"? "Heck yeah, but do something - anything" I muttered. And do something it did - show me the dreadful folder icon on the iPod.
    - So here I am now running the (latest) iPod updater for the umpeenth time trying to restore the iPod software, but at the time of this writing it just seems stuck on the "restoring iPod" phase... oh wait, it just gave up quitting or something. Out of desperation probably...
So, after the best part of a couple of flawless years, I suddenly don't have an iPod anymore - now I just have an expensive paperweight. Thank you Apple... (sorry, but a $300 gadget isn't among the items I consider "disposable"... my apologies, had to vent a little)

  • Hello, I would just like to report the little problem with the apple store. When I try to download an app it loads for about 2 seconds and then it stops downloading! I don't know what's wrong

Hi, when I try to download an application the app stores downloads it for about 2 seconds and then it stops downloading it! I don't know what's wrong?

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer..)
    Release the Buttons...
    If no joy...Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

  • How can i resolve the wifi problem with the ios 6.1.3 software on my iphone 4s?

my wifi keeps going on then off and its starting to **** me off......apple are aware of this and arent doing anything about it...if the issue isnt resolved soon, i will be leaving apple

Why don't you try some basic troubleshooting instead of ranting about how someone else should solve a problem that's specific to YOUR phone.

  • What are the common problems with the 15 inch 2.16 Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo?

I have been reading in the forum and have noticed that some of the MBP C2D have a few problems (wireless, screen, etc). I just want a list of things to look for if I get one. I have learned from the past to get it fixed fast, or else Apple does not prioritize it as well. Thank you.

    got mine in october.
imo(and other pc converts as well) it hardly lives up to the hype+pricetag.
First/second/third iteration...it runs hot and slow.
Compared to what? Any other macs? Can't say. Compared to my experiences with other pc notebooks...that's where I'm coming from.
Author was looking for feedback from MBP owners.
    2cents submitted.
Author didnt specify..'issues with MBP as compared to other Apple computers', I don't think anyway.
A company makes a major shift with it's hardware, and expects the software that pre-exists will smoothly transition...is a rush job if you ask me.
I just feel it would have been better, having been released with a FULLY compatible os.

  • Who has the same problem with the 9.4.1 update?

After i downloaded the update for iPhoto 11, my app store still tells me I have yet to update my software. Tried to restart about 15 times with no luck and it still looks like this :

What I mean is if you already have this version of iPhoto, but the app store is still telling you to update, then that's an App Store problem, not an iPhoto one. Or do I misunderstand you?
