How do I sort my whole spreadsheet based on one row?

I'm using Numbers on my iPad to inventory a school's computer systems. I'm kind of doing it slowly as I get time, so I'm not inventorying in any particular order. I just go in a room when I get a chance and then inventory everything in it.
I have different columns for room, asset #, make, model, serial, inventory date
Just a few minutes ago, I was trying to sort my sheet by the asset # so I could see what gaps I have in the asset numbers. I selected the top bar and it highlights the whole column. Then I select sort and it only sorts the one column, which then totally screws up my sheet because my asset numbers are next to different random PCs that I just happened to inventory first. So, of course, I undo it. But I would like to be able to sort by asset # and have it sort all the cells based on the asset #, or sort by make or model and then I could see all the computers with a certain make or model and where they're at. There has to be a way to do this.

I probably said it backwards. I've been calling them columns... I think I mean rows. The rows have data up and down. I want to sort it so the lowest values at the top and highest values at the bottom. But I want all the other cells to stay sorted. Right now if I just select sort for the row, it sorts the one row and not the rest of them so it totally messes up my sheet.
It's just an inventory that I have a field that says make, model, asset #, serial, room #, etc.
I'd like to sort by asset # to see all the PCs and if I have a gap. Then I'd like to sort it by room number so when I walk in a room, I can tell if I missed a PC in the room and verify what I have. Then I might want to sort by the year row when we decide to upgrade so I can put all the oldest PCs first. But if it just sorts the row and not all the other columns in the row, it totally messes up my sheet. It just puts my years of pc from oldest to newest but didn't sort the rest of the fields. In Excel, if I do that, it sorts all the fields based on the one row.

Hi Ron,
On the right side of the Toolbar click the Sort and Filter button, then select Sort.
You can then set up a multiple column sort.
Click Add A Column, Specify the sort for that column, Repeat.

How can I send a whole ITunes library from one computer to another? AIM

Okay, I am trying to send a whole library of roughly 800 songs using Aol Instant Messenger. I have tried many different ways, sending the ITL file, the itunes 4 music library. When I tried these and replaced the library with it, it worked, but didn't know the original locations of the songs. the whole itunes folder would of taken too long. Is there any easier way to do this? Thanks.

The files that you are sending are only database files that tell Itunes where the songs are and your ratings playcounts etc - that is why on the 2nd computer it cannot find the song files.
You need to actually send the song files themselves which as you all ready have pointed out are probably too big to do via AIM.

How to paste style on whole table and not one cell at a time?

I am copying a style and then trying to paste it on a whole table, but it will only allow me to paste the style on each cell separately, and it takes a long time.

I am creating shipping labels.
My table is divided like the paper labels in my printer.
I am copying each address directly from my browser (each address on one cell). After I copy all the addresses, I adjust one them to: avenir font 9.5 pt, indents 0.5 first etc, and then I paste this style on each cell separately.
Is there a way to paste the style all together in one time? (I am making shipping labels every day so it is not a one time thing).

Here is what I am trying to do. I have 2 tables A and B. Both have a fiscal year and a school ID column. I want to return all data from table B where all school IDs match but fiscal year from A is not in B. I wrote 2 queries below but this took
2 minutes each to process through 30,000 records in table B. Need to optmize this query.

query execution time will depend not only on your data volume and structure but also on your system resources.
You should post your execution plans and DDL to generate data structures so we can take a better look, but one think you could try right away is to store the results of the subquery in a table variable and use it instead.
You'll also benefit from the creation of:
1. An index for the B.SchoolID column.
2. Statistics for the Year column in table B.
You can also try to change the physical algorithm used to join A to B by using query hints (HASH, MERGE, LOOP) and see how they perform. For example:
select 1 from table A inner HASH join table B
on A.SchoolID=B.SchoolID where A.Year not in (select distinct Year from table B)
As the query optimizer generally chooses the best plan, this might not be a good idea though, but then again, without further information its going to be hard to help you.

If you have Aperture 3.3 or later and iPhoto 9.3 or later you can merge libraries with Aperture.
Otherwise the only way to merge Libraries is with the paid ($20) version of iPhoto Library Manager

How can I export the whole schema but except one table?

I need export one schema from one hp-ux server using exp command, this schema will be exported into some dmp files, then I ftp these files into another hp-ux server, import this schema from these dmp file in that server.
Problem is: there is one very big table which is about 20G size in this schema, so I don't want this table to be exported. I know there is a parameter called TABLES in exp command, but this parameter just apply to table-mode Export. So does there have other ways for me to achieve my goal?

to exclude the table (or some of them) you can create control file using SQL*Plus with spool. All what you need is to create sql statement and save results in control file. As an example:

How to supress a subtotal in a crosstab with one row

Hi,
I have a crosstab report with three groupings and subtotals. In one group I only have one row and I want to supress the subtotal for that row. If I try to conditionally supress the subtotal it supresses all of the subtotals for the 3 groupings. Any ideas?

What I am trying to do is a cash flow report and the first group is 'Starting Cash' it has only one row so I want ot hid the subtotals. This is followed by two other groupings, Cash Receipts and Cash Payments. I'm doing this as a cross tab as the months will vary at runtime.
I also tried adding the chas group as a calculated item, but I couldn't quite get that to work. I'm open to any other ideas.

How does a chart track info on more than one row

As you can see by the attached graphic, I haven't had a problem until the new year hit where I need the chart to continue tracking info on two rows of data (year 2007) that continue onto another two rows of data (year 2008), and so forth into future years. Is there a way to do this with the current table, or do I need to create another table from which to build a chart.

In the example above, I removed the actual date values and created Text Labels only. This is probably why the graph is showing weird labels. The problem with Text labels are their use in an X-Y (or Scatter Graph.) Numbers needs to have a Month format for date data types. Do we need to go further with your request? For continuous lines, yes, the data needs to be formatted that way. The X-Axis values are coming from one row of data and in your original example "Feb" is only "Feb" (not Feb-07 and Feb-08).

The dark colored cells result when the graph is selected. If you want to reformat the cells you can do so by changing the cell's Font and Background colors using Inspector.
