How do I specify a version?

What is the default version? Publisher Lulu requires earlier version for their printers, "preferably 1.3".

You mean when creating a PDF?  Using what product?
With Acrobat you can do it when Save as Optimized PDF.
When just saving it as PDF, the default is 1.6 (Acrobat XI).

  • Specifying JRE version in webpage (not using default set in Plugin)

    Hiya,
    I'm trying to set it up so our app loads a specific version of JRE (1.4.2_12) even though v 1.5 is installed on the machine and set as the default in the plugin.
    Cant change the default from being v1.5 in the plugin as it is needed by other application on the system.
    Does anyone know how I can specify which version of the JRE is used if it's even possible.
    Thanks

  • How do I specify the build number when deploying an iOS application (not version number)

    I'm looking for a way to specify the application's build number when deploying an iOS application.
    Currently in the -app.xml file, you can specify a version number by using:
    <versionNumber>1.0.24</versionNumber>
    But when submitting to the iTunes Connect store, I want to be able to submit the new updates as a build change, and not version change to avoid the approval process again.
    Can this be done ?
    Thanks in advance.
    -Daniel

    Hi Gig52,
    Unfortunately, there is no way for you update/modify/increment the build/version number information from the command line. You will have to set that via the Project Explorer. You could check the box labeled Auto Increment in the Version Information property to have the version number automatically increment each time you build your application.

  • Solaris 11 IPS:  How do you post multiple versions of the same package?

    How do you post multiple versions of the same software package on a single IPS instance(port)? Oracle was able to do it here with versions 151 and 175 of S11:
    http://pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release/
    Unfortunately, based on my searches, no where in the documentation (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris11/technologies/ips-323421.html) does it explain to the development community how this is done. The best I can do is create pkg repo instances on different ports to host each different software version.
    We are trying to deploy an IPS repository for our drivers and utilities that our customers can link to and pull updates from. We have been able to post a software package to the repository using the command:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 -d ./ Appv1.p5m
    This posts the package on the IPS repository instance at port 1234 on the server. However, we would like to post multiple versions of the package on the server at the same URL. Why the same URL? So that our customers and end-users need only point to a single URL to pull down our software rather than having to add a new URL to the publisher list each time we have an update. We want at least 5 of the previous software versions to be available on the server. Posting each version of the application or driver on a different IPS instance on a different port will require customers to add multiple URLs to their publisher list and they also will not be able to initiate remote scans for updates.
    Has anybody been able to do this? Is any documentation forthcoming?

    dhduvall: Thanks for your response. Yes, one would think that as long as the version numbers are different, you should be able to accumulate multiple versions of a package in a repository. It looks like Oracle has done it in their S11 repository unfortunately, as far as I know, they have not shared the steps on how to do this. I would like to publish two versions of the same package. I.E. two different manifests with two different fmri.pkg version strings and two different binaries.
    If I publish one package after another like this:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv2.p5m
    Then only the second package shows up in the repository, as if it over-wrote the first one.
    Running pkgsend with two manifest, like this:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m Appv2.p5m
    Will cause pkgsend to combine the packages and manifests as if they were a single package... not what I am trying to do.
    Both approaches are complete without errors but neither achieves what I am trying to do.
    alan.pae: Thank you. Unfortunately, the link didn't really help. I've read Oracle's white papers and IPS developer guide so I'm familiar with the topics covered.
    Lex: Yes, I know. I specified the versions in the pkg.fmri value string.

  • How do I specify the JRE i wish to use to Run an Application.

    Hi Everyone;
    Please bear with me if you read this before.
    I have installed java 1.3.1 and java 1.4.1 in that order.
    The JRE used by default is java 1.4.1
    How do I specify the JRE I wish to use to Run an Application from a command prompt.
    Example:
    Java -something org.jboss.Main
    help ??
    Stephen

    I was a lil embarrassed. I told my supervisor that the installation of java overwrites the JRE and that's that.
    My supervisor took 10 minutes and went through it and found java.exe in the System32 file.
    The java.exe file is found in guess where "C:/WINNT/System32/" folder how nice. C:/WINNT/System32/ is in the path. Not only that it's the first entry in the path. So when I execute java it is not using java.exe any one of the java files that I got from the java website.
    So I don't have any control over the version.
    Oh well;
    That's life. That's 1 for my supervisor.

  • How to start a particular version of Photoshop when multiple versions are installed

    I have written a small software that automates a few functions in PS CS2.
    Till now it was working just fine with PS CS2. Now due to some unknow reasons the client has installed CS 4 and CS 5.
    Now my clinet want that the software should be able to detect all installed version of PS and allow him as user to choose as to with which version of PS my software should automate.
    Is this possible?
    If yes and how to achieve it?
    Oh! I have also abserved an unusual behaviour. I don't know whether it is because of my software or because of PS.
    By default when my software executs this automation script (generated using Script listner)
    Rem =======================================================
      Dim objApp
      Set objApp = CreateObject("Photoshop.Application")
      Rem Use dialog mode 3 for show no dialogs

      Dim id11

              Dim id14
              id14 = objApp.CharIDToTypeID("GnrP")
              Call ref2.PutProperty(id13, id14)
              Dim id15
              id15 = objApp.CharIDToTypeID("capp")
              Dim id16
              id16 = objApp.CharIDToTypeID("Ordn")
              Dim id17
              id17 = objApp.CharIDToTypeID("Trgt")
              Call ref2.PutEnumerated(id15, id16, id17)
          Call desc3.PutReference(id12, ref2)
          Dim id18
          id18 = objApp.CharIDToTypeID("T   ")
              Dim desc4
              Set desc4 = CreateObject("Photoshop.ActionDescriptor")
              Dim id19
              id19 = objApp.CharIDToTypeID("HsSt")
              Call desc4.PutInteger(id19, 1)
          Dim id20
          id20 = objApp.CharIDToTypeID("GnrP")
          Call desc3.PutObject(id18, id20, desc4)
      Call objApp.ExecuteAction(id11, desc3, dialogMode)
      Call SetUndoTo1CS3
    It will automatically start that version of PS which was last running before the system was shut down.
    Let me try an explain this in a different way:
    To get my software to talk to a particular version of PS I have to perform the following steps:
    Start that version of PS in I am interested
    Open a file and save is under a different name
    Close PS
    Restart my PC
    After performing all these steps when my software automates PS that version of PS will start which was last run.
    Any idea as to what is going on?
    Please help me solve this problem.

    The answer is somewhat easy until you start talking about launching 32 or 64! When you call CreateObject you specify which version you want. Most of the time you want the current version so you say "Photoshop.Application". But you can say "Photoshop.Application.11" for CS4 or .12 for CS5. You could look in the registry to see which keys are present and pose a question to your user.
    --------------- 32 and 64 bit fun ---------------------
    If you are on a 64 bit OS you have two versions of Photoshop installed beginning with CS4. If your application is a 64 bit application and you are the correct user you can see into both the 64 bit registry and the 32 bit registry. If you are a 32 bit application you only see the 32 bit side of the registry.
    What I do is run my VBScripts via the cscript application and I launch cscript in either 32 or 64 bit mode.
    Here is my test:
    Launch 32 bit version of photoshop via cscript in 32 bit mode and specify the version:
    E:\h:\windows\SysWOW64\cscript \files\VBScripts\TestLaunch10.vbs 11
    Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.8
    Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
    Trying to launch Photoshop.Application.11
    DOM library
    11.0.2
    H:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\
    Done
    Launch 64 bit version:
    E:\cscript \files\VBScripts\TestLaunch10.vbs 11
    Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.8
    Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
    Trying to launch Photoshop.Application.11
    DOM library
    11.0.2
    H:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64 Bit)\
    Done
    You can see from the path that the correct version is launched.
    Here is a snippet of the code...
    appName = "Photoshop.Application." & vStringSet app = CreateObject(appName)

  • JDev TP3 / UML Class Diagram / How can I specify a derivative attribute?

    Hello,
    I'm trying to put derivatives (or calculated) attributes such as "age" or "price" in a class of UML diagram. In all of UML books that I've seen, a derivative attribute is represented with a "/" and the attribute's name. For example, "/age" or "/price". But in the class diagram of JDeveloper I can't put "/" in the name of attribute. So, how can I specify a derivative attribute?
    Thanks in advance,
    JVN

    Unfortunately, it is not possible to denote derived attributes in TP3. Bug 6915067 has been logged to address this in a future version.
    Thanks, Guus (JDev PM)

    Expand appearance is what will happen when exporting to PDF or other formats anyway, but it's rather part of the problem than part of the solution.
    When expanding bristle brushes you get millions of paths. and when flattening their transparency you get millions more. Any service provider will get rather upset at you for sending this kind of stuff.
    What you instead want to do is rasterize them at the correct resolution (depending on wether the graphics will be resized before printing or the printing process). BTW: that's what Illustrator tells you in an error warning when saving a file with more than 30 strokes in it.
