How do I speed up Printing from Adober Reader X?
Adobe Reader used to print quickly. Now, there is a long wait before the printer starts (Adobe Reader X). What changed? How can I get Adober to print sooner. (No other program has such a long wait.)
Hi,
How old is your printer ? Is it in this list:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
You also need this to be able to print from your iPhone.
Regards.

Users are unable to print from Adobe Reader X
Hi,
Multiple users in our environment report that they are unable to print from Adobe Reader X. They receive the following error messages (translated from Dutch) Document cannot be printed. There are no pages selected.
We are using Reader version 10.1.3
What we have tried to resolve the issue (without any positive results):
- Repair the installation of Adobe Reader.
- Update Adobe Reader to the latest version for Vista (x86) (10.1.7)
- Created new user profile for the affected users.
The documents can be printed without any errors from Foxit Reader.
At the moment we use the following workaround:
Open the document in Internet Explorer, and then print the document from there.
Does anyone have any idea how we can resolve this?
Best regards,
DuncanJames,
I'm sorry to hear that you were having the same problem under 9.5. I had recently updated to Adobe Reader 10 under Windows 7 and yesterday my "default printer" simply disappeared from the options on my control panel. I re-installed my printer, but today whenever I would open a PDF document and try to print it, the document would simply close with no further ado. After a bit of trial and error, I ended up uninstalling Adobe Reader 10 and going back to Adobe Reader 9.5. Now everything is working just fine.

In Windows 8 environment--can't print from Adobe reader
Hi there. I have problems printing from Adobe reader in a Windows 8 environment. The printing defaul is "OneNote", and I can't get to the print screen to change it to my normal printer. When you try to print (with button or Ctrl-P) the print screen opens for a split second and then Adobe reader closes.
I would like to disable "OneNote" as the default, but can't get the print screen to stay open long enough for me to select my regular printer. I would be grateful for advice. I am sure there is an easy fix--I just don't know what it is. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Adobe reader, so i was able to print for the rest of that one day. Nest day--back to square one.
Thanks.Did all the updates thru 8.1.7. Now it tells me to print the document I need to activate Adobe which I did when I installed it. Under the Help screen the activation tab is greyed out. If I did de-activate it on my old laptop I don’t think it would change the state of this tab.

Can't print from Adobe Reader X
Whenever I try to print from Adobe Reader I get the message "Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close." The error signature is:
AppName: acrord32.exe
AppVer: 10.1.2.45
ModName: acrord32.exe
ModVer: 10.1.2.45
Offset: 0005e985
It does not matter if a PDF file ois on the web and it opens as a web page or if I open a file that is alreadty on my comuter.
I tested printing from an older version of Adobe Reader and it does not create a problem (that version is coming up when I download files that
are on my Cloud server.
What is the solution, if any?Kindly try the workaround available at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/928/cpsid_92870.html and this should help resolve the problem
Thanks,

Since updating Mac OS X to Version 10.6.6, I can't print from Adobe Reader. I have read other recent posts with similar problems, but have not located an adequate response. I have updated Driver Software from HP. The problem is inconsistent. Sometimes one or two pages will print from a multi-page document. More often nothing will print... "Sending data to printer" Nada. Printer goes offline. It's always been touch and go with Adobe Reader, as well as printing from Safari, but never as bad as this. I used to save documents from Safari as PDF's so they would be easier to print. Not anymore! Any ideas?
+I used to save documents from Safari as PDF's so they would be easier to print. Not anymore!+
Why not? I only use that Reader when I'm forced to. Simply do a Command + I on any PDF document and, in the resulting window, choose Preview under "Open with:" and then click on "change all" underneath. That will make Preview the default app for PDFs and it works like a charm. -
When I print from adobe reader 11 it often print a page of characters not words. Why is this?
Can you try 'Print as image' (from the Advanced panel on the Print panel).

Installed a Windows 8.1 update yesterday; now computer freezes when trying to print from Adobe Reader XI. Still can print a word document from MS Word.
Was already running latest version 11.0.10. Tried the re-load fix; tried uninstalling and installing a new one from the web. Problem still exists -- cannot print any document from Adobe Reader XI. Computer freezes when the print file is being prepared at 0%.

Cannot print from Adober Reader, Freezes up
Adobe Reader XI freezes when tasked to print a pdf.
Running Windows 7Hi,
Thanks for using Adobe Reader. Sorry to hear that you are facing problem in printing from Adobe Reader. We will certainly help you out here but will need some of your help in triaging the issue so that Engineering can reproduce it in house. After that only we will be able to address the issue.
Please share the below details-
1. First of all, can you please let us know the current version of Adobe Reader which you are using? It should be 11.0.10. If it is older than this, then I will recommend you to update it to current version - 11.0.10
2. If you already on latest version, please let us know if you started getting this issue recently (with 11.0.10 update) or you were seeing this issue earlier as well.
3. Are you seeing this issue with some specific pdfs or any pdf in general? I mean have you ever able to print any pdf so far using Reader, For investigation, please attach PDF file, or you may share your email id for communication
4. please specify the OS platform(32 or 64 bit ) details ?
5. Printer details( Brand- Model and driver details), and also please check the behavior While using or other printers (if available) to give a Print ?
Thanks,

Is it possible to restrict certain users from printing from Adobe Reader?
Is it possible to restrict certain users from printing from Adobe Reader?
First of all, with Reader you can't change any security settings.
If you have Acrobat, then you could place a password on changing the document (which includes printing), and then give it to only some users. -

Some Adobe PDF documents don't print from Adobe Reader; with other software it works correctly
Dear community,
I'm facing the problem that some Adobe PDF documents with lots of colors and lines (size less than 3 MB) don't print on our printers from Adobe Reader XI.
The same files when opened with PDF XChange or PDF Architect are printed out without problems.
How can I provide an Adobe Reader that is able to do so? Any recommendations about solving the issue are very appreciated.
Best regards
ChristianWord document problem fixed at the moment by deleting and adding the Lexmark printer again.

Decoding 2D barcode on forms printed from Adobe Reader
We use LiveCycle Designer 8 in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro to create forms, which are then opened, completed and printed using Adobe Reader, then signed by the user and mailed back.
We believe we can put a 2D paper forms barcode on the form, but if filled in by Adobe Reader the data gets encrypted and so cannot be scanned (though if completed by Acrobat, the data is not encrypted - unfortunately most customers do not have Acrobat)
We heard that you could buy software or a hardware device to enable the received printed forms to be scanned and the 2D data decoded - is this correct still?
ThanksIn regards to the Decoder, this is a piece of software that does the actual decoding of the barcode from a printed and scanned form (or faxed). It can decode barcodes from both TIFF and PDF documents.
If you are using a high-speed scanning solution then you more than likely have a decoder built into your solution. If not, then the decoder is an ideal add-on solution. In fact, with the new Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms ES you can not only decode but you can integrate the data right into your existing workflow quite easily.
For a great overview of the ES line, check out: http://www.adobe.com/products/livecycle/techsummary.html?showMyTab=tab_foundation
