How do I stop an photo import?

How do I stop an IPhoto import? I had my IPhone 4S plugged into my iMac and I wanted to download the photos and it is trying to import 80000 photos.  All images from the web and other images.

Thank you!  my husband would have had a fit!  lol.

  • How can I stop random photos showing up in photo stream?

I keep getting photos of houses and pictures of women in my photo stream!
My iPod Touch is 4th generation and it's secondhand.
I have just deleted like at least 100 photos that I never took.
How can I stop the photos from being synced into my iPod?

    Turn off PhotoStream.
There are three ways that photos can get into your PhotoStream:
    - You take photos with your camera or save photos like email attachment on the iPod
    - You are sharing someone else's PhtooStream. Go to Settings>iCloud>PhotoStream>Shared PhotoSteams
    - You are adding photos to the folder on your computer that you have associated with PhotoStream.Go to your iCloud control panel on your computer and turn off PhotoStream

  • How can I stop iCloud photo from looping a failed photo upload?

My mother has an iMac that was mysteriously losing HD space. It turns out that the process called iCloud Photo evidently was trying and failing to upload a corrupt photo that I had inadvertently put in her iPhoto app. Every few seconds a copy of the photo was appearing in the folder named com.apple.photostream-agent. There were 22,000 copies of this photo.
With each failed photo upload attempt, these errors also were logged in console:
    1/4/15 7:50:57.709 PM com.apple.photostream-agent[343]: [publisher:didEncounterError:publishingAssetCollections:] Failed to upload asset uqzx6U1gTAi5HumqNsH3YA
1/4/15 7:50:57.808 PM com.apple.photostream-agent[343]: SQL operation failed with code 11
I deleted the photos and restored the HD space after killing the iCloud Photo process in Activity Monitor. Then I removed the photo out of iPhoto.
The problem is that should iCloud Photo restart, say, through a computer restart, the problem starts all over again. Apparently removing the photo from iPhoto did not do the trick.
How can I get iCloud Photo to stop trying to upload this photo?

Did you delete the corrupted photo from its event and from My Photo Stream as well? Have you deleted the photo completely by emptying iPhoto's Trash and the System Trash?
You could also try to delete the photos from the folder ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub/
That will remove the temporary copy of "My Photo Stream" on the Mac from the user library.
The user library is hidden by default. To open the hidden User Library:
    Use the Finder's "Go" menu.
Click "Go", then hold down the options key, until you are seeing "Library" in the drop down menu appear and click it.
In the Finder window that will open navigate to the folder ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub/.

  • How can I stop my photo stream from sharing with my other devices?

My mom and I both have iphones and whenever one of my friends or I set up a photo stream she gets it too. How can I stop this from happening?

To fix this you need to be on a separate iCloud account (when you share and account, you share your photo stream).  To migrate your phone to a separate account, start by saving any photos not in your camera roll to your camera roll by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.
Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with a separate Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data.  (Deleting the account only deletes it from your phone, not from iCloud.  Your mom's phone wont be effected by this.  Also, you can continue to share the same ID for iTunes and App Store purchasing, it doesn't need to be the same as your iCloud ID.)  Once you are on a different account, your photo stream will be no longer be merged with your mother's.

  • How can I stop iPhoto from importing duplicates of every photo on my iPhone

Having a problem with duplicates of all pics imported from my iPhone
    -Connect iPhone
-iPhoto opens, showing the photos on the phone which have not been imported.  Problem is that 2 copies of each of the photos are shown as being ready to import.  Import otherwise goes as normal.
-If I select "import all," it will import both copies of each photo.
-Selecting and importing just 1 copy of each pic works fine, but leaves a copy on my phone, even if I delete the imported pics.
-The pics are not duplicated on my phone (before or after any import).
    I'd appreciate any advice.
    Thanks,
    -Mark

The problem is that every import is at least one new Event, and so it's quite possible that you could have 1,000 new Events every month thanks to Phootstream.
However, it's not such a huge deal to just select the Event at the end of the month and auto-split it (in the Events menu)

  • How can I stop i photo corrupting files on import

When I import photos from a card reader some import and some are not imported and I get the unrecognised file type rubbish and invalid data mesage. Of the files that are imported some are corrupted and the image is partially split i.e it looks as though it has been cut in two and the two halves displaced relative to each other. Now if I try and open these directly into photoshop from the card reader they generally open fine.
If I plug the camera directly into the firewire slot they import fine either RAW or jpegs.
I have changed the card reader but this has not solved the problem
I have done the permissions repair process ad nauseum and deleted the com.apple iphoto plist file without success.
The card rwader will work fine on a pc running windows. I cannot believe that windows does something bhetter than my mac
System is G5 Powermac with OSx Tiger, 1 gb RAM and iphoto 5 with the latest updates
Any help would be gratefully recieved as I am becoming demented.
    Steve

    Steve,
What card readers are you using? I have read here on the discussions of problems with some card readers. If you post the name of the readers maybe someone with the same reader will post to help you or give you more info.

  • How do I stop my photos from disappearing?

LG G3 - I took many photos over the weekend. While I was looking at the gallery Sunday night, the gallery images started suddenly showing with gray bars on photos, then suddenly turning into a question mark icon like the phone had no idea what the file was.
the phone has always worked fine, and I have never had any problems before. I have not installed any new updates or apps recently. I have no third party photo manager - just use the gallery and associated apps that came with the phone. I do not use Google+.
Every time I look at the phone, more of my photos are replaced with the ? icon. If I take a new photo, I can look at the photo within the camera and see it fine. I can open the gallery and see the photo fine. Then suddenly, the gray bar will appear on the image and it will change to the ? icon.
I have done the following troubleshooting:
    1. rebooted my phone.
    2. Shutdown the phone, and let it sit off for 2 minutes, then restarted the phone.
    3. Shutdown the phone, took out the battery, and let it sit for 2 minutes, then restarted the phone.
    4. unmounted the SD card, shutdown the phone, took out the SD card. replaced the SD card and restarted the phone.
    5. verified that the camera is storing photos to the SD card
    6. Changed the camera storage to memory, and back to SD card.
Any suggestions on how to stop my phone from being confused and realize that the files it seems to not understand are actually the photos I took with the camera on the device, and that it really did understand all of the photos at one time?
I do not have the ability to plug my microSD card into my PC. My PC does not have a micro slot and I do not currently have the ability to go buy an adapter
If your advice is anything like "should have backed up the phone" your condescending input is not needed. This is not a backup issue, this is an issue with the phone forgetting what photos are.

Oh goodess hammer1959! Let's see what's going on with your phone. I really apppreciate all the details you've provided so far. Please try clearing cache in the camera to see if this gets resolved. When completed, please restart phone. http://vz.to/1s5uICj

  • How do I stop my photo album from updating?

My photo album updates every now and then, and as a result, some photos are lost.
Is there any way I can stop it?
I've looked in the Settings, but there's nothing helpful...

Your photo album is synced. When you sync your computer, then it makes sure that the ipod is in sync with the selected folders on your computer. Any change on the computer will be reflected on the ipod when you sync. This is the design of the ipod.

  • How to preserve order of photos imported from Aperture

I've imported my Aperture library into LR.
The process went generally fine, however I'm unable to figure out how to get the original image order.
I was using custom ordering for Aperture's "projects" and "slideshows". Both got translated to collections, however the image order doesn't seem to be preserved. This is crucial feature for slideshows...
Does the import plugin translate the Aperture order into the Lightroom "Custom Order" ?
If not, what would be the suggested way to restore the proper image order in slideshows?

When you select a collection the tool bar above the filmstrip lets you reverse the order by clicking the A/Z symbol. It also  has a drop-down menu to the right of sort. You can choose a number of options. But the beauty of collections is that you can drag thumbnails around into any order. They then remain fixed in your own user order. Useful for slideshows, web galleries etc.

  • How do I stop my photos moving from my MacBook Pro to my iPhone and iPad?

I am happy for my photos to move from my iphone to my MacBook Pro but not from the MaBook back to the phone. My phone memory is full becuase of all of my high resolution photos on my MacBook Pro.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Go to your iphoto preferences> photo stream and turn off the automatic import into the photo stream album.

  • How do I stop deleted photo files from restoring themselves?

I've had this problem since Mountain Lion: I will delete image files (JPG and PNG) just to have them reapear a few days later in Finder. I've tried "Secure Empty Trash" but they still come back. I thought it might be Time Machine restoring the files, so I unplugged my USB hard drive that it backs up to only to find the files are still coming back. Please help!

If you're syncing, you have to unselect the photos you no longer wish to sync, and they won't show up on your phone anymore.

  • How do I stop iTunes from importing a CD until I'm ready?

I want to import a book that is 4 cd's. I used to be able to change the track name BEFORE it starts to import. I just bought a new iPod and it is automatically importing instead of letting me say when I'm ready.
I did go into the summary page and clicked "manual" but it's still automatically importing.
I like to change the names from track 1, track 2, etc since there are dozens of them into names I recongnize. Then, I drag into play list without having to listen to various tracks trying to find my chapters.
    Thank you for any help!

  • How can i stop attached photos from being in the email body?

I try to send pics often to places for printing and icloud puts them into the body of the email instead of as an attachment. THis can be quite annoying. Advice pleas,   Thank Carol

When sending from your Mac, when composing the email click on Attach.  In the choose file dialoge, try checking the box that says "Send Windows Friendly Attachments".  From you iOS device, this happens automatically.
The message may still look as if the photo is embedded rather than attached, but on a Windows computer it will appear as an attachment.  (On a Mac it will appear to be embedded but the attachment can be saved by control-clicking on the image.)
