How do I stop apps from reloading every time I unlock my iPhone?

How do I stop apps from reloading every time I unlock my iPhone? I have an iPhone 4 and at least 95% of the time I unlock it, some apps act as though they are reinstalling. It only lasts for about 3 seconds if that but it makes me feel like something is wrong with it. Does anyone else have this problem??

Could you explain what you mean by this? What is happening that makes you think they're reinstalling?

  • How do I stop iPhoto from launching every time I sync my iPhone?

I have looked for something in Preferences on both my iPhone's PHOTOS tab as well as in iPhoto but cannot find where to tell whatever I need to tell to stop iPhoto from launching automatically every time I hook up my iPhone to my Mac to sync. This is really annoying and I'd so much rather just handle anything like that via the iTunes interface vs. another window/program that has to operate to deal with stuff on the iPhone. It's INelegant at best and just simply a pain in the arse at worst.

You mean I can use this Image Capture thing for moving stuff from scanners as well?
You bet. Some don't prefer using iPhoto to store all imported digital camera photos or any such application (not sure why but to each his/her own) so Image Capture can be used instead which is a simple import/transfer application. Using Image Capture, you can download some or all, remove photos from the camera after the download process, select a default download location or create a new folder in the location of choice and use a chosen automatic task such as crop to a 4' x 6' which occurs after the download process is complete.
A nice simple little application which has some juice for those who don't like using iPhoto or similar type application.
I'm in the habit of rooting around the applications folder and utilities folder with a new Mac purchase so I was aware of Image Capture but I've always preferred using iPhoto for my digital camera import process.

  • How do I stop iphoto from opening every time I connect my iphone to my computer?

I don't really want to sync my iphone with my iphoto. Whenever I plug my phone into my computer, iphoto automatically opens and asks if I want to sync. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
    Thanks!

The RIGHT way is to copy photos from your phone to iPhoto and delete them from the Camera Roll. If you still want them on the iPhone add them back to the photo album app. The Camera Roll is a bad place to leave photos that are important, and a silly place to leave photos that are not. It is intended as temporary storage, jost like any digital camera.
iPhone will not open if the camera roll is empty.

  • How do you stop iPhoto from loading every time you dock the iPhone?

I would like to NOT have iPhoto start up every time I plug in my iPhone. I am sure there must be an easy way to do this. Thanks!

There are two different topics in this thread, and two separate "sync photo" issues with iPhone.
    1) Syncing photos to iPhone, similar to the process if you had an iPod. This is handled as mentioned above, from within iTunes.
    2) Syncing photos from iPhone, as with any camera. This is handled from within iPhoto, also as mentioned above.
I just wanted to point out that these are two independent processes, able to be modified separately.
If you have cleared out the iPhone and/or not taken any more pictures, it will not cause iPhoto to pop up.

If you log in automatically, a known bug will cause the desktop picture to revert to the default image at every startup. The only workaround is to disable automatic login in the Users & Groups preference pane.
Linc, I have seven user accounts on my machine and they all experience the same issue. What I have noticed is that if an account is the only one logged in the selected picture is retained. If any other account is logged in the next user to login sees the default desktop picture. Automatic login is not enabled. This leads me to believe the bug is not limited to automatic logins. It will be intersting to see what happens when 10.9.1 hits the street.
There also seem to be several other threads reporting this behavior.

  • How do I stop InDesign from crashing every time I open a certain file?

I tried to move a 2 page spread to the beginning of a 52 page layout and InDesign crashed. I tried recovery and it would crash each time seconds after opening. I tried closing every thing, hard boot, then opening from the file. It opened fine then in 2 seconds it crashed. I tried a different file and there was not a problem. How do I keep it from crashing my 52 page file?

The file could be corrupted. Do you have a backup?

  • How can I stop Firefox from 'talking' every time I click a new item on my laptop screen?

Without my doing anything, all of a sudden my Firefox started talking every time I click something on my laptop screen. Example: I clicked the link that took me to this page. Firefox said "new window... Firefox menu ... Ask a New Question ..." I don't need this, it interferes with all that I do that requires my speaker turned on. How can I stop this?

You can also manage all permissions on the about:permissions page via the location bar.<br />
Use "All Sites" to set the defaults.
You can open about:xxxx pages via the location bar like you open a website.<br />
Firefox uses the about: protocol to access internal Firefox (setting) pages.

  • I don't want to see the Create, etc window when opening PS CC2014. How do I stop it from appearing EVERY time I start PS?

Overall, I like PS CC 2014. However, the most annoying thing is the popup window that appears EVERY time I start the program. It's the one with "Create", etc at the top and links to a bunch of videos. How do I make it so I no longer have to see it any more?

Scroll to the bottom of the Welcome screen. There you can tick 'Don't show ...'

  • How do I stop iTunes from autofilling every time I sync my iPod touch?

Everytime i sync my ipod touch 4th gen (32gb ios5) with my mac (10.7) itunes (10.5.1) removes and replaces about 1000 to 2000 songs! this is fine except it takes hours and all i want to do is put a new cd om my ipod, not change a couple of thousand songs.
so my question is how do i get my ipod back to normal manualy manged music mode?
also, restoring isn't an option as my music is stuck on a hdd that i don't have an enclouse for (previous one broke).
Any and All help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks, Jesse

    Hello Jesse,
Autofill is only available when you sync manually. So switching to automatic sync (and then back to manual) should disable it.
Here is a a support page that explains how to set up auto fill, when you plug your iPod in.

  • How do I stop Photoshop from crashing every time I select the print command?

Mac OSX 10.9. Epson Artisan 1430 just installed driver update after it started crashing but it didn't help. Also crashes with HP printer.

Try the steps here:FAQ: How do I reset my preferences?
Then when you start Photoshop, Open a file, and Cmd P to open the Print dialog.
Then press your Option key and you will see the Cancel button, and it will change to a Reset button.
    Click on Reset.
Close the Print dialog, close the file, exit and restart Photoshop.
    Hopefully this will work.

  • How do I stop FunMoods from opening every time I open a new tab.

I tried changing the about:config line url:blank but that didn't work. Screw FunMoods.

Try to reset the funmoods prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.
*Open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar and do a search for <i>funmoods</i> via the Search bar at the top of the about:config page.<br />
*Reset all <i>funmoods</i> related prefs that appear bold (user set) via the right-click context menu to their default values.

  • How do I stop iPhoto from freezing every time I open it?

My O/S is Mac OS X Version 10.6.8.
    iPhoto version is 8.1.2
Does anyone know of a way to fix this so iPhoto will open without freezing?

Remember this was a test. It tells us that iPhoto is essentially sound and the issue is within your main library.
    Let's try repair that:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Any way to stop iPhoto from launching every time iPhone syncs??

The subject posting says it all: Is there any way to stop iPhoto from launching every time I synch my iPhone? I've clicked this and that, checked this and that. I must be missing something so if someone could help, I thank you in advance.

OR ... delete the photos from the phone after they were imported. If you want those photos to be on the phone, set them to import during a sync. Getting them out of the iPhone's "camera roll" album is the key here.
An easy way is to set up a iPhoto album called "for iPhone" or something. When your new photos are initially imported into iPhoto they will be in the "last roll" smart album. Select them from there and drag them into your "for iPhone" album and make sure that album is selected to sync. Either check the "delete photos after importing" box in iPhoto or delete them manually from your "camera roll" album on your iPhone after the sync. iPhoto will not automatically open until you take new photos.
Remember ... setting Image capture to not open iPhoto, as well as the setting iPhoto to delete photos after importing ... will apply to your camera or memory card device as well.

How do I stop firefox from redirecting every page I click on in Google search? No matter what I search for in Google when I click on it Firefox redirects me to some other search, sales, or contest page. I have a security program running, no maleware, adware, or virus on my pc. Sounds like a dose of search redirect malware or a redirect virus.
Install, update, and run these programs in this order.
