How do I stop emails from Apple Communities

So I started a discussion regarding an ongoing problem with my computer and checked off the 'follow' as well as the 'bookmark' buttons so I could easily find it; however, my email is inundated with HUNDREDS of emails every day from numerous conversations going on in Apple Communities.  I can't seem to find where I turn this off.  I've unchecked both the 'follow' and 'bookmark' buttons from the original conversation but the emails still keep coming. Please HELP!

B&J
You are "Following" an entire Community = iMac (Intel) - therefore, every post in that forum will get you an email notice.
To stop this behavior, instead of NEVER getting an email notice - even from the threads you want to follow or participate in - go to Your Stuff page...
Click BarbAndJim any where you see it > click the [ Communities ] TAB > click the on the right side of the page > click " Following " to UN-follow the iMac (Intel) Community
This will redraw the page and show your success thus...
My personal preference is to only get emails from my participated threads, so I never - ever - click " Follow " anywhere, thread or forum.
Hope this helps

By posing the Original Question OR Replying to an existing one, you are AUTOMATICALLY " Following " that thread = GOOD THING - you need take no deliberate action to get notices of participated threads.

  • How do I stop emails from apple support communities

almost a year ago I turned to apple support communities for a Q. Now a year later long after the problem has since been resolved, I am still getting very annoying updates.  I have tried logging in and changing my preferences, but that did not stop the emails.  I tried bouncing them back...didn't work.  I tried turning to apple "contact us"  but that is not easy without coming here first...Now I fear I may be just starting a new list of emails, but here we go...STOP EMAILING ME!

The Email preferences are not the problem, they only control what will happen they have no affect on what is happening now.
You can identify the source of the email,  the community or thread, in the email. Go to that thread or community and turn off the email notification from there.
If you can'tt identify the particular thread or community from the email follow the instructions in the link King_Penguin posted.

  • Yikes! How do I stop email from discussion group?

I've searched my settings and I can find nothing to block email from my discussion questions! This is incredible! Not only does Apple try to slip Safari onto my system but it provides no way of not receiving emails from the discussion group!
I haven't subscribed to anything and, even when following the instructions to stop the email (i.e., delete option in "My Subscriptions") I can't because no subscriptions are listed!
    Jeez!

I've got "no" check both times and have no subscriptions. The frequency options don't include "none".

I've tried to edit "My Info", "My Settings", etc. but have found no option to stop emails from the forums.
Thanks, to all, for your attempts to help me.
I only got one dump of about 91 emails from both the iTunes-Mac and iTunes-Win but nothing since ... maybe the deluge has stopped!

  • 10.8.5 how to stop emails from Apple Support Communities?

    My spam folder is full.

You're welcome and it's ok - I'm not doing this for points.......
For future threads, you should have a note below all posts (but your initial post) that you can hit a solved or helpful. I just realized: you didn't have your topic marked as a question, but as a discussion, so that's why you can't award any points.

  • How to Block unwanted email from Apple?

My email address is constantly being flooded with iTunes emails every day. They are from the official itunes email address and I'm just getting sick of it. I've tried unsubscribing from the mailing list (I've done this 6 times over the course of two weeks total but to no effect) and even when I mark the email as junk in the mail app on my phone, it still ends up in my Inbox BUT NOT the Junk Folder.
Gonna have to report this email address to my ISP to hard-block if Apple doesn't get their act together.

Thankfully Gmail has some good options for this, after searching around myself.

I guess the native iphone email app doesn't play well with many functions beyond simply reading the email.

  • How can I stop email from being deleted on computer?

I upgraded from a 3gs to a 4s today. Everything is working fine except my email. On my 3gs I had my email set up to never delete from the server that way I could delete the mail on my phone but not on my computer. With the new 4s I can't find the never delete from server option.  Can anyone help me?  It's a hotmail address that I'm using.
Thanks in advance for your help!!!!!

  • How do I stop emails from known senders registering as spam?

    Hi,
I am able to send emails with photo attachments from my iPhone to the printer no problem, but when my partner tries from her Blackberry, they are constantly registering as spam.
Her email address is on the 'allowed senders' list. I have tried all sorts of things, but it is not working. I am the only person she is sending the emails to (no other 'To' or 'CC' recipients).
    Help!

    Hi supermudge,
I would try changing the settings to "everyone" at the ePrint Center and see if she can print at that point.
If not, it may be an email client issue, and I would have her try to send from a different email client (like Gmail, Hotmail etc)
    I was an HP employee.

  • How do i stop emails from auto resending?

I accepted a meeting invite in MS Outlook 2010 on my laptop to the sender only (no cc/bcc) but those on the original invite are getting repeated emails originating from my iCloud email address. Thing is, I do not have or use iCloud mail. I use MS Outlook on my laptop and my iPad checks emails directly.
This is becoming a major issue as meeting invite was from a national organization and many receipients are recieving these apparetn automatic resending of the email.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

The Mail.app does not (or should not) do this.
What it is designed to do is add all message recipients (for sent messages only) to the list of Previous Recipients which cannot be turned off.
The email address autofill feature when addressing a message pulls from the Address Book and the list of Previous Recipients in Mail.

  • How to send yahoo emails from apple ipad?

    *Settings
    *Mail, Contacts, Calendars
*Select Yahoo Account Email Address on right side of screen
    *Scroll down, Select Advanced
    *Select 'Sent Mailbox'
*Select 'Sent, which is under 'on my ipad'  (This should have a check mark)
*Go back into yahoo mail and send an email.
(Note:  It may revert back to the default option if so just repeat the steps.)

In the mail app, and mail list, tap on the edit button in the upper right corner. you'll see buttons pop up by the mails, tap on those to select the mails, when you're done selecting you'll see a little 'trash' work in the lower part of the list.

  • HT5624 Someone I don't know is using my email address as their Apple ID to sign and purchase apps ect and I keep getting notifications in my emails. How do I stop them from using my email address????????

Someone I don't know is using my email address as their Apple ID to sign and purchase apps ect and I keep getting notifications in my emails. How do I stop them from using my email address????????

If a person is using your email address, you should change your email password and make sure there aren't any forwards to some strange email address.
An example if you were using gmail, under account settings, a forward can be set up to send messages to another email address.
If your email address is say, you own domain, such as somename@somename dot com, make sure the forwards are forwards you set up.
If your email account was hacked and the bad guy has access, you need to cut him off, first by changing the password and second cut off any message forwarding to the bad guy if he set it up.  Just changing the password would keep a bad guy out, but if the bad guy set up a forward, he will still get your email.
A confirmation from Apple would have come to your email address in order to confirm that Apple ID.  If you are getting the other person's purchase notifications, you would have gotten a confirmation of that account from Apple.
