How do i stop firefox from stopping automatic downloads of certain sites

I have certain sites that FireFox will not let to download automatically. I keep clicking on allow and it will let the page download until I do this several times.
How do I stop FireFox and Aurora from doing this?

See:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • How do i stop automatic downloads of tv shows from other devices

If i buy or download a tv show on another device such as apple tv or an ipad, how do i stop it from downloading automatically when i open up itunes in my IMAC?

There is no way to designate one specific purchased item to not auto-download and remain in the cloud, but you can specify certain kinds of purchased items like videos, music, books, etc.
In iTunes > Preferences > Store Preferences on your computer, make sure to uncheck "Always check for available downloads" and "Automatically download pre-orders".
Initiate the purchase on a device other your computer. The simplest way would be to initiate the purchase on a Apple TV, as those purchases will now remain in the cloud and not auto-download to iTunes on your computer.

  • How do I stop automatic downloads of entire HD TV seasons on EVERY computer?

When I purchase an HD TV season on my iPad, it automatically unavoidably downloads every single episode on all four of my Macs with the same iTunes account. This has resulted in multiple warnings from my ISP about my bandwidth limit.
I have no desire to ever watch TV shows on my Macs — I watch them on the TV with the iPad plugged in with HDMI. Each TV season is something like 33 GB, and whenever I purchase one I am forced to download the entire thing exactly 5 times. That's 165 GB. Comcast has sent me multiple warning slips about this threatening to terminate service.
How do I stop this? I just want to store my shows in the digital locker and fetch them manually on whichever device I want. I do not want automatic syncinc at all. There appear to be checkboxes in the Mac iTunes that say "Automatic Downloads" for Music, Apps, and Books — but none for TV shows and movies, which are the worst criminals here. These are all unchecked but none would apply to TV.
I love the idea of iTunes TV shows — the quality is fantastic, the price is right, and I canceled cable ages ago. But I'm going to have to stop for bandwidth reasons if I can't address this. I've scoured Google looking for a solution and no one has come up with one. Does anyone know how I can stop this from happening?

I don't think you read my post. Automatic downloads for Music, Books, and Apps are all unchecked but there is no general Automatic Downloads option to uncheck, and none for TV or Movies.

  • How do I Stop automatic downloads of Movies and Shows... Apparently iTunes will begin downloading every available show or movie I have even after I have told it to delete the shows

I have Season 1 of Elementary. I do not want it downloaded to my laptop. I purchase a new movie and begin the download of the movie. iTunes immediately begins downloading EVERYTHING that I have not downloaded. the Entire Season of Elementary along with all the other Seasons I have and ALL the iTunes Extras that I HATE SO MUCH cause they wont go away. Even when I Hide the iTunes Extras... They still want to download...  I have gone thru preferences and settings but can't find any setting to stop this type of action... Anyone have any ideas???

I would try deselecting the options Always check for available downloads, Download pre-orders when available, and Automatic Downloads of Music, Apps and Books, under Edit > Preferences > Store, sign out of the store, clear the iTunes store cache under Edit > Preferences > Advanced, and clear the contents of <Media Folder>\Downloads.
In some cases the iTunes Store may remember that you have items waiting to be delivered in your queue. In such cases you will need to ask the store support staff to flush the queue for you.

  • How do I stop automatic downloads?

Okay, I redeemed some codes that came with blurays for digital copies of movies. Thing is, I have a bandwidth cap and really don't want to download them. Plus, after all, I have a blu-ray.
I went into Preferences and clicked the Store tabbed and unchecked Music, Apps, Book, from Automatic Downloads. There doesn't seem to be a option for movies. I also have "Always check for avaliable downloads" unchecked.
Can someone please help me? This is getting very annoying. Especially when it's trying to download the HD copy & SD copy of the same movie.

You answered your own question. I do it so I will have a digital copy of it when I want it before a code expires. That doesn't mean I want to download it right that second, I just want iTunes to register it as a purchase so I can download it when I'd like.
What's even worse. What if you watch the digital copy of the movie and then want to delete it to make space on your Hard Drive? iTunes will insist on you downloading that it.

  • How do I get Firefox from "saving" to Downloads EVERY PDF file I open ??

    Greetings,
New to Firefox. Running Mac Leopard and needed Firefox because a business website running a business replay podcast did not recognize Safari.
So far so good. I actually prefer Firefox to Safari now.
One little thing. Every time I browse the web and open a PDF file it "automatically" sends it to my download file and I therefore have the file "saved" . WELL, I don't necessarily want to save to my download file every PDF file that I open. I just want to open a PDF file, do a quick read and move on to more browsing. How do I stop Firefox from saving to my downloads every PDF file that I open? Is there some kind of setting I can adjust?
    Thanks.

    Lexonex wrote:
You da man...I've never done an "Ad-On". I downloaded the recommended "Ad-On" as you suggested. The program fixed my issue...NOW, I can simply open a PDF file without it automatically going to my downloads.
    THANKS
If you ever need to download a list of things, firefox can select a vertical column using the Cmd key, unlike Safari.
I have DownLoadThemAll installed and I can select a vertical group of files, right-click them and using DLTA, I can DL them to any location. With Safari, I would have to do this one-at-a-time.
Just another reason I like FF for many purposes.

  • How can I prevent Firefox from ever automatically updating without my say so. It just did, and DESTROYED all bookmarks. I'm BUMMED about that

  • How do I stop automatic download of TV shows?

I just bought a season pass for TV show on my new iPad. It instantly started to download every single episode of that show, there is no space on my ipad. I thought that I would simply be able to pick the shows that I wanted to download and watch at my leisure.
Now I can't do anything on my iPad because I'm constantly being flooded with error messages about space, and as soon as I free up a few kilobytes it immediately start download more episodes.
I've turned off all of the automatic syncing options and settings (the few that there are) and yet it keeps trying to download the episodes. How do I make this stop?
I searched the forums in the Internet and it seems that there is no reliable solution to this problem. Lots of people are asking the same question in the Apple forums and very few have gotten even a single reply.

Did you also check if autosync for TV shows is deactivated in iTunes when you connect your device?
    All autodownloads deactivated in Settings/Store?
Did you already reset your iPad by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?

  • How can I prevent Firefox from suggesting updates for a certain add-on?

One of the extensions I use has relaesed a new version that contains changes that I do not want. I would like to keep the old, previous version. The add-on update check in Firefox however enables the "include this update" checkbox every time it checks for updates. Is there a way to selectively disable updates for this add-on permanently?

The process is not straightforward, for details see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Updating_add-ons#Disabling_update_checks_for_individual_add-ons_-_Advanced_users
This will be far easier in Firefox 4, it will have the option to disable updates for individual add-ons from inside the add-ons manager.

  • How do I stop auto downloading?

How do I stop automatic downloading of movies/tv shows?
Every time I open itunes all my past media purchases automatically start to download.
Preferences does not give the option to select/deselect movies/tv shoiws,
    Help me please!

What are they downloading on (computer's iTunes, iOS device), and are they new purchases (e.g. did you have automatic downloads turned 'on' when bought them), or have you gone into the Purchased section and clicked/tapped on 'download all' ?
In the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of a computer's iTunes, on the Music section there is a 'download all' button to download all your past music purchases (those that are still in the store and not hidden) ; and on an iOS device, in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app there is a 'download all songs' button

  • How do I keep Firefox from asking to install the Flash plugin (which I don't want) ?

Using Firefox 26.0 for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0
How do I disable Firefox from requesting to download the Flash plugin every time I visit a site with video content?
Frequently I visit sites that have some video content; 99% of the time, I'm not interested in seeing the video; if interested, will download it and play it locally with my own video player (not Flash). Some sites
will let me play the video even without Flash.

Go to your address bar and type "about:config", press Enter, in search bar, type "plugin.state.flash", on the option that will appears double click or click with right button mouse and click and "Edit...", then change its value to 0 (never active)
    0 <-- Never active.
