  • How can get the page source of current open tab through addon?

    i need page source.

You can prefix the URL with the view-source: protocol to see the page source in a tab.

  • How to get the text of an onclick/'open browser window' behavior to look like a link

If I set this behavior to a specific word (on an <a> tag without the 'href') the link is not underlined and the mouse does not turn into a pointer. If I set this behavior to a full <a> tag with the 'href="..."' then the browser opens a new window (as per the behavior) and a new page on the original window (as per the href="..."). How do I get the link to appear as a link (underlined and mouse changing into pointer) without having to assign a href="..." to the <a> tag?

    Gary,
I appreciate the time you are giving me to address my question. However, even though I would like to have this link stand out to the viewer, I do not want it to stand out from all the other links that surround it. Also, I have tried the solution you have given me, yet it to also causes the browser to load the new window and the original page. There is no difference whether the behavior is linked to <a href> or some other tag as long as there still is an <a href> the original browser will load the new page as well.

  • I've recently been given an eMac, but when I try to boot it I get the following- panic(cpu 0): Unable to find driver for this platform "Powermac 4,4"

Recently I was given an eMac that had been sitting in a cupboard for a couple of years.; When I tried to power it up I was getting all kinds of noise at first. I checked all connections that I could, then checked that the memory was correctly inserted into the memory banks, they wernt, so re fitted them then all the weird noises went.
Now when I try to start the Mac I get the first chime then the machine stops with the following error message . . .
panic(cpu 0): Unable to find driver for this platform "Powermac 4,4"
I've been away from Mac for a few years now and would love to shove my PC back in the cupboard where it belongs, so if someone could help me get my eMac going I'd be real happy,.
    Thanks

It appears to be one of these...

Actually, either one can run 10.5.8
    Tiger Requirements...
To use Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, your Macintosh needs:
        * A PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor
        * Built-in FireWire
        * At least 256 MB of RAM (I recommend 1GB minimum)
        * DVD drive (DVD-ROM), Combo (CD-RW/DVD-ROM) or SuperDrive (DVD-R) for installation
        * At least 3 GB of free disk space; 4 GB if you install the XCode 2 Developer Tools  (I recommend 20GB minimum)

    Leopard requirements/10.5.x...
        *  Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
    minimum system requirements
        * 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
    Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.
May be available from Apple again???...

Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...
    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=mac+os+x+leopard+retail+10.5
You have to call Apple & likely ask for a Product Specialist to get it, if they still have it! Helps to tell them you have an iPad/iPhone & you can't run 10.6.
There are workarounds if the 867MHz CPU is the only hangup...

  • How can I stop getting the annoying adverts?

Why do I receive countless adverts from a company I'm paying for a service with no clear way to opt out? I've never received any similar messages from previous mobile providers, and only expect such unsolicited junk from dodgy law firms, not from the company I'm paying for mobile coverage! They wouldn't be such an issue if they included a pretty standard 'text STOP to this number' type sentence but of course they don't, and neither does it appear there's anywhere under your account settings to opt out - it's ridiculous and definitely something that will encourage me to warn people off the company.

Right, so to opt out of irritating text messages you have to go through the trouble of phoning up and going through all the menus to find the right person to contact in order to get rid of marketing that let's be honest no-one wants? Brilliant.

  • How can I stop getting the error message of firefox not being permitted into a website?

Okay so yesterday while on my school site trying to do work and access my course, this error message popped up saying either my internet connection is not good, which it is working, or that the website is busy but it wasn't so it had to be with my firewall and firefox. So I went to firefox website to see if I can fix it, I did what they said to do and to remove firefox from the list of programs I'm allowing in and then to allow it back in. And it didn't work. So i updated firefox and it worked perfectly.
Until today, I tried to access my course and it popped up with the same message. So I tried to do what I did yesterday with removing it from the list and allowing it back in but it didn't work. And firefox is up to date so I honestly don't know what else to do. Can you help?

Sounds like you were 'fixing' the firewall for Firefox access. If Firefox is working everywhere except your school website, I doubt if your issue is with the firewall.
Please provide a screenshot of that error message.

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

  • How can i stop annoying plugin page appearing when i open firefox

Every time i open firefox i get annoying info telling me about plugins.
How do i get rid of this

All the software you are running on your computer is extremely old, out of date and leaving you open to gaping wide security flaws online.
This is how to update your software, get rid of the prompt, and be safer online :)
Install Firefox 17.0.1. [[Update Firefox to the latest version]]
Visit https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/, and update all the vulnerable plugins from there.
OR, to make this even easier, just use http://ninite.com/firefox-flash-java-reader-vlc/ninite.exe to update all this software with one installer

  • How can I stop all the messages in a thread opening when I only click on 1 of them?

I click to open a mail and the others in the thread also open. I only want to open one at a time. [I'm new to Thunderbird, I used to use Outlook Express. ]

re I click to open a mail and the others in the thread also open.
when you select to read an email which is part of a thread:
A single click on email will display it in the Message Pane below.
A double click will open in a new tab or window if you have this up.
A right click and select 'Open in conversation' will open a new tab showing all received and your sent responses in that thread as a list, which if you switch off the threading and choose sort by Date, will reorder the list.
    What do mean by open?
Are you saying that several tabs or windows open all at once?
    OR
Do you mean that you can see the email response in the Message Pane but below that email there is some more From,Sent, To, Subject headers and email content, which is what the sender was replying about.
If yes, that's because the person 'Replied' or 'forwarded' the email, so that it is part of the email.

  • I'd like to stop seeing the warning about iDrive

When I open numbers or pages, I got a warning that iCloud Drive is not compatible with Mavericks.  Fine--I'll wait until I upgrade later this year, but how can I stop getting the warning every time I open one of these applications?

In the iCloud preference pane, uncheck the box marked Documents & Data.

See this thread about disable specific software update in Mountain Lion.
There is some confusion about how to apply the method in the replies to that topic. A somewhat easier to understand explanation is at http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/hide-a-software-update-in-os-x-mountain-l ion, among other places on the web.
Note that you may need to click on the "more" item to see individual system software updates.
That said, the others are right: the RAW format updates are tiny & it is hardly worth the effort to hide them or to worry about the disk space they use.

  • How to get the number of files currently open?

    hi,
does any one know how to get the number of files currently open in windows OS?
    e.g. lets say .txt files...
any comment will be really appreciated.
    thanks

Assuming that you don't want to actually do this from within Java code (which would obviously require native code), here's a utility that will give you a list of which file handles are opened by which processes (on Windows):

How to I get on to page 2 when my document stops at the page 1 layout line and won't go on to another page?

Sounds like you are using a Layout template. These you have to manually link from textbox to textbox.
Try using a Word Processing template, it lists them in the sidebar of the Template Chooser.
