How do I stop iMessages from showing up on both of my iPhones without having to have two seperate iTunes accounts and still be able to use iMessage between these same two iPhones.

My wife and I have iPhones. We share an iTunes account and we want to keep it that way. My iMessages began showing up on her iPhone and vise versa. I figured out to go to settings, messages and have only the send/receive checked for our individual phone numbers. When we do that however, we no longer can send iMessages to each other and it goes over SMS. I don't want that. I want to be able to send and receive iMessages with my wife without having to have a seperate iTunes account and without each other seeing each others iMessages to other iMessage users. How do I do this?

One of you needs to set up a separate Apple ID for iMessaging purposes only.

The app (Excel) is in the dock. When I left click on it there is no check next to open at login.
Lets go back to the beginning when I installed ms office both word and excel were in the dock. then one day excel dissapeared. I put it back in the dock and that is when it started opening during login. There is only one X showing in the dock.
Maybe I have little gremlins.

The purchase history on your acocunt should say what the item was : if you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases (the most recent purchase is above the list).
If you didn't make the purchase, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and may have made it, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

If your "older" MBA has a Thunderbolt port then it isn't that old. See Target Disk Mode about how it's used. Note that without a monitor you won't be able to tell from the screen when it has fully started, and if it succeeded in starting in TDM. If it did, then the hard drive should appear on the Desktop of your new computer. You can then access it to transfer your files. You can even use Migration Assistant or any backup utility to transfer data. Just don't try to transfer system files.

i had one for a long time, then when i got the ipad i didn't realize they would all still work under one so i set up the second one on that
then when i got the new iphone i put in the info for the first and main one from my mac pro and it would not work at all, and i knew it was right, then it asked me to create a new one or i couldnt finish the setup

My wife and I have seperate iTunes accounts and content. We both have an iPod and iPhone. We purchased a new Macbook Pro because our other computers were fried. How do we both use the same computer to access our own iTunes accounts and sync our own iPhone and iPod to it to update our respective toys? I have already transferred all my content to the new laptop and am able to sync my iPhone and iPod. Now I just need to figure out how to get my wife's content on this new laptop so she can sync her iPhone and iPod. Does anyone know how to do this? I assume this is a common request.

one option would be to create a separate user account for your wife. click here to learn "how to share music between different accounts on a single computer"
another option would be to authorize iTunes to use/play content purchased with both your iTunes accounts.that's basically very easy. all you have to do is +log out+ of one account (click on the account name in the Store window and select +sign out+ from the pop-up dialog) and into the other, and then they will both be authorized. (be sure to just *log out*, not de-authorize ).

Playing movies on two seperate iPhones with two seperate iTunes accounts

I have an iPhone 4 and 4S. We have two seperate iTunes accounts. I attempt to move movies to the iPhone 4 from account #1 and i get a message which says this device cannot play this content. My iPhone 4S will play content from both iTunes accounts #1 and #2. I must be missing something in the software. How do I activate two iTunes accounts on one device? My 4S has had apps from both accounts #1 and #2 on it before. The iPhone 4 does not have any apps from the account #1. Somehow one device is allowing content from 2 seperate iTunes accounts and the other is not.

Yes you can, you can have up to 5 computers authorized for playback on purchases. If you have not purchases, then there is nothing to worry about there as well.

You would each need to use your own user account on the Mac, you can do this at system preferences > users & groups.

The music sync is one one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. File>Transfer Purchases

I had my music on my itunes on my old computer (pc), and need to move it to my husband's computer. My husband and I both have iphones and want to keep using our seperate itunes accounts on one computer, as we both have our own media set up on our accounts. I had burned my music from the old computer onto discs and imported onto the new one...works in the library but I can't put them into playlists, which means I can't put the music on my iphone. As for using two seperate accounts on one computer, it was suggested to me to make another profile on windows (vista), and use the second account on that profile. I did that and have had such a frustrating time trying to get this to work. I don't know if I've done something wrong, but it's just headache after headache. Somehow my apps even ended up on my husband's account? Also, how can we share music between our profiles? It seems ridiculous that we should have to buy an album twice just because we have to different accounts. I would be willing to create a third joint account with my husband, but only if we can still have our own music, apps, etc, and can somehow transfer the music we have to this new account...if possible. Suggestions please???? I'm so close to pulling out my hair over this!!!

You'll need to copy the music currently on your iPod to your new PC and into iTunes first before you can sync it to the new iPod.
