How do I stop iTunes opening every time I switch on my computer?

Just recently, iTunes has started to open every time I switch on my computer. Does anyone know how to stop this?

What is your MacOS version?
Check the login items in the system Preferences "User & Groups". If you find iTunes there, select it and remove it by pressing the "-" button.

How can I stop iTunes from transferring purchased apps from iPad to my computer? I don't want them taking up space on my computer. iPad backups and apps on the cloud are enough to ensure my apps are backed up, so I don't understand why they need to be on iTunes too. I'm running Mavericks, iTunes 11.1.5 and iOS 7.0.6.

There isn't an app for that!
As far as I can tell there is no option to give you that control. It is worth noting that apps can be withdrawn from the store at any time. Should your device need restoring you need all the apps in your library to transfer to it before the app data can be successfully restored. Pulling that all down from the cloud would be time consuming.
If space is becoming an issue you should consider moving the library to a bigger drive (which you should also backup to another).
As a temporary measure you could try deleting some larger apps using Finder from within iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications while keeping the entries in your library. iTunes may complain during syncs that it cannot copy apps to the device because they cannot be found, but it should not clear them from the device. Test first on a single app that doesn't have any data that you would mind losing in case the behavior has changed from the last time I tested it.

Every time I open itunes I have to put in my password, I also have to enter my password to access the store, my account etc even though I have already entered it on openening the programme - it is extremely annoying!! I'm sure there must be a way to change the password settings but I can't seem to find how! Any help would be much appreciated!

How do I stop InDesign hanging every time it becomes the active window?

I am running CS5 Web and Design Premium on a Win 7 laptop. Every time InDesign takes focus there is a delay of around 10 seconds before the window becomes active and I can do anything. I don't have this problem on any other component.
CS5 was installed on this laptop in the past (working perfectly), then deactivated and uninstalled so the laptop could be used by someone else. The laptop then came back to me, so I reinstalled CS5 and InDesign has been having this problem ever since.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling several times, and have reset the preferences, with no effect.
It's driving me mad, does anyone have any idea as to how I can solve this please?

I'm getting an email every time I sign in or out of my apple ID. I do not like extra emails in my inbox. Where is the button to stop the emails?

It is a new security feature after the iCloud was compromised for some people. If you are getting this when logging into the Find My iPhone app on the phone, then if you do not log out and set a passcode on the phone, you should not receive this again. As far as I know, and I've not tested this because I do not receive the emails is when you log in on the computer, most people report that if you log in on the same computer again, it will not generate an email. Seems like it might put a cookie on the computer to recognize that you have logged in with that computer before.

Go to Start>All Programs and look in Startup. iF iTunes appears there, remove it.
If iTunes is not in startup, do you have any iTunes widgets? If you don't know what they are you probably don't have any.
Some iTunes Widgets can be configured to start when you start your computer and that could cause iTunes to appear.

How can I stop iTunes downloading every podcast from the cloud when I only want unplayed podcasts to show in iTunes?

When I set iTunes to automatically download all new episodes and only keep unplayed episodes, it downloads every episode in every one of my podcasts feeds. This means thousands of files, as not every XML feed hosts only a few files. Some host hundreds.
How can I get rid of all these podcasts that I don't want to display? The old way was a superior user experience to the way it is now.

My workaround for this is to set up a smart playlist. I hope this is another one of the issues that gets cleard up when Apple eventually releases an 11.1.1 update.

How do I stop motion opening every project as untitled?

Every project I create is seemingly saved as if it is a template. I'm not publishing a template, just using "save as". So when I open that project it is always opened as "untitled". Then of course I have to save as and replace the original file etc. It's a pain.. :-) Can anyone suggest how I can prevent Motion from opening my project files as untitled please?

Then below is the save window you should see when you do a Save As. It will not show up in FCP X at all.
If it is showing up in FCP X, it is not a generic Motion project, but a template for one of the FCP specific projects. This would be what you see in the Save As window if this is true.
1- Which "Save As" window are you seeing?
2- Exactly how are you starting the original project?
3- Exactly how are you doing the "Save As" command?

You could go into MSconfig, and see if its set to start with the machine.
Normally by default iTunes will open when you plug in your device...there is an option to have it not open when a device is connected..but there is not an option to have it start with the computer that I am aware of.

How do I stop pop ups every time I click a link

Im using safari 6.1.6 and OS X 10.8.5 and whenever I click on legitimate websites I get pop ups. This could have been cause by mistakenly downloading something I shouldn't have. Im not sure if its related but now when I try and do a google search I get a list of google adds before my results with a yellow box saying 'ad' this didn't happen yesterday. Does anyone know what needs to be done to stop all this? Im a basic user and with little knowledge of the system.

Go step by step and test.
1. If adware is installed without your knowledge,
