How do I stop Photoshop from flipping my image when I print?

Whenever I print a photo on Photoshop, it always prints the image as a mirror, or a "horizontal flip" in the position on the page that I'm placing it. This proves to be quite frustrating. How can I fix this?

That is not normal check all the setting in your Photoshop print dialog and printer settings. I see an option my printer has that could be used to do what you're getting,

  • How can I stop Photoshop from colour correcting images?

I'm trying to put all our art assets into a computer game engine.. but everything is more muted then in the final version. I spent a long time getting the GFX looking good but as soon as I save them they are blow out super saturated and over exposed.
How can I get the saved version to look like the version in photoshop?
    Here is an example
This a screenshot of windows. The image on the right is photoshop, and the image on the left is the same image saved as a PNG.... see how they look compleatly diffrent? Why is this and how can I stop it?

I typed that in a hurry last night, so not to give the wrong impression I should add that I know PECourtejoie knows better. He probably read it in a hurry too.
Reading the article again shows that Marc Edwards has some things right, but fundamentally misunderstands the basic concepts behind them. What he seems to not get is that the RGB values on-screen are in the monitor color space, they are not in the original document color space. It has nothing to do with the operating system.
This has a practical implication: Photoshop will not match display in a non-color managed environment. This is because Photoshop has converted from document to monitor profile. The RGB values sent to the display are simply not the same.
There is a very simple solution - suspend the color management chain temporarily by using the same profile for both document and monitor. This can be done permanently, but then of course you're flying blind. Much better to proof to Monitor RGB just for the match. This will show everything as if no color management existed.
People should just use ctrl/cmd+Y more.
And while I'm at it: Discussions regarding color management often tend to spiral downwards - despite the best efforts from the people who know how how it works. Red herrings and confused statements always come in from the flanks, to the point where we all lose track completely. But color management isn't all that difficult, and I don't know why this myth that it's totally impenetrable has become so widespread.
In this case, the key probably lies in the very first reply by c. pfaffenbichler.

  • How do I stop AE from changing my workspace when loading a project?

How do I stop AE from changing my workspace when loading a project?  I've looked everywhere and can't find it.  I work on a lot of projects that a peer works on and his screen size is smaller and his workspace is different than mine.  Is there a setting I can change so that when I open one of his projects my AE window doesn't change?

No. That behavior is intended. The problem is probably that your colleague uses the "Standard" workspace in a custom configuration and since it is matched by name, it emsses up your "Standard" workspace as well. Therefore advise your colleague to create his own workspace with a custom name and/or create your own custom workspace to be able to more quickly reset things.

  • How do I stop iTunes from compressing audio/photos when transferred to IOS device? (iPad

    Hello,
I have noticed that 13GB of photo's only equals around 3GB on the iPad and iPhone. I noticed the same thing with audio. Although, I do not notice the compression with video.
My question is, how do I stop it from compressing photo's if I want to? I understand it saves space, but what if I wanted to email the full size photo to someone. This also may defeat the purpose of some editing programs. I would like to know how to do the same with audio.
It does not affect the original files in anyway, correct? Also, I using the manual drag and drop option for Movies and audio. I sync with the photos.

With syncing photos you can't change how they are synced, iTunes will 'optimise' them when copying them over to the device - and no, the original photos on your computer are not affected, iTunes creates separate 'optimised' versions of the photos on your computer and copies those over.
If you want the original versions of the photos on your iPad then (and if there were only a few that you wanted full-scale) you could email them to yourself and use 'open in' in the Mail app to copy them to the Photos app, or use the camera connection kit with your iPad to copy them via an SD card to it - photos copied via the kit are copied full resolution, they aren't changed.
Or there are third-party photo management apps such as Photo Manager Pro which can copy photos to/from your computer via the 'file sharing' section on the device's Apps tab in iTunes, they will be copied as-is - that app can also copy photos to/from it and the Photos app.
For your music, on the device's Summary tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, under the Options heading have you currently got the 'convert higher bit rate songs to ...' set ?

  • How do I stop Photoshop making my files smaller when I save?

I import a jpeg file that is say 21MB - and when I save or save as out of Photoshop CS5, (as a jpeg) it makes it only about 1.8MB - how can I stop it doing this??
I am using Photoshop CS5 on a MacBook Pro.....
Any help appreciated! Have already tried selecting Image, Image Size and de-selecting the checkbox for 'resample image' but it makes no difference to the save sizre.

Be mindful of the pixel count in your image, and make sure you're not inadvertently downsampling it.  In other words, if you're opening your image at 6000 x 4000 pixels in size, then saving it at 2000 x 1333 pixels in size, you would expect to see a large reduction in file size on disk.  Such operations as Image - Image Size or Crop could inadvertently be resulting in resampling, depending on your settings.
And even if you are saving the image at the same pixel count, Photoshop does not duplicate the JPEG save parameters your camera or other software may have used.  In fact the 1 to 12 quality scale is a purely arbitrary simplification of the numerous actual variables chosen behind the scenes that affect the JPEG compression.
I have no idea what the meaning of such comments as "wow" is.  They don't seem particularly helpful.

Did you perform the fixes from the "Preferences not saved" article?
Try to delete or rename/move the prefs.js file and other possible prefs-##.js with a number and user.js files in the Firefox Profile Folder.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Make sure that Firefox isn't running when you delete files in the profile folder.

  • How do I stop Photoshop from launching when I turn on my MacBook Pro?

I subscribe to Adobe CC. Every time I turn on my MacBook Pro, Photoshop CC launches. I want this to stop. When I right click on the Photoshop app > Options > Open at Login is NOT checked. And in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items >  Photoshop is not there. What can I do? I am sure it is a simple fix. Thanks!

As I mentioned when I right click on the Photoshop app in the dock > Options > Open at Login is NOT checked. And in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items >  Photoshop is not there in the list. I do not have any utilities installed that automatically launch applications and I do not mess with scripts or even know how to.
I tried calling Adobe's poor outsourced customer service and was told there was a 2-5 minute wait, but after waiting 22 minutes, I had to hang up.

  • How do i stop photoshop from opening all the recovered photos

i realize that i probably caused this problem but i need to fix it.... dozens and dozens of photos open and it takes forever. closing them doesn't work, they just come back the next time i open cs6.

Beyond manually finding the files for removal, consider this:
Photoshop is supposed to remove those backup files itself after you've successfully closed them.
That it's not doing so implies possibly a permissions problem, where deletions of files from within your scratch PSAutoRecover area by you are not allowed.  You'll want to look at the permissions of those folders/files and change them so that you do have access.  I'm sorry to say I do not know the specific commands, as I am not a Mac user.

  • How do I stop Photoshop from crashing every time I select the print command?

Mac OSX 10.9. Epson Artisan 1430 just installed driver update after it started crashing but it didn't help. Also crashes with HP printer.

Try the steps here:FAQ: How do I reset my preferences?
Then when you start Photoshop, Open a file, and Cmd P to open the Print dialog.
Then press your Option key and you will see the Cancel button, and it will change to a Reset button.
    Click on Reset.
Close the Print dialog, close the file, exit and restart Photoshop.
    Hopefully this will work.
