How do I stop preloading of HTML5 audio files?

When I open a page that has audio tags for HTML5, it automatically downloads the files. I never use the in-browser audio player and instead download for offline listening. How do I prevent these files from being downloaded for browser playing since I have to download them a second time for my offline playing?

Does Firefox play MP3 files in an HTML audio tag on Mac?
A lot of other types can be disabled via one of the media prefs, but if there isn't one for files that still play and disabling media.autoplay.enabled to false also doesn't help then I don't know what else to try.

You can import the track into GarageBand and then split the tracks there. Once that it is done you can highlight the ruler section and then share the song to iTunes to get them separated out.

iTunes 1.0.2 is +at least+ eight years old.
The current version is 9.2, and it's free.
If that was a typo, and you're using something more current:
In the iTunes preferences, change the import settings to mp3.
Then select the songs you wish to convert.
From the "Advanced" menu, choose "Create mp3 version".
When done, change the import settings back to Apple Lossless.
That's it.
BTW, this is the Logic Pro forum, which has absolutely nothing to do with iTunes.

How do I stop LR4 from organizing imported files into a folder by date. Most times when I import files I have already created a folder and sub-folder structure tyat I want to use. I then right click the desired folder and choose import into this folder option. Why does LR4 insist on organizing my already selected destination into a sub-folder with a date by default?

If you do it this way all the time consider a different approach:
Manually copy your images from the card into your desired destination folder in the Finder/Explorer. Once complete drag&drop that entire folder into Lightroom. When the import dialog pops up select to Add the images to the catalog (not copy or move). You will end up with the exact folder structure reflected in your library.

How do I stop iTunes from compressing audio/photos when transferred to IOS device? (iPad

     I have noticed that 13GB of photo's only equals around 3GB on the iPad and iPhone. I noticed the same thing with audio. Although, I do not notice the compression with video.
     My question is, how do I stop it from compressing photo's if I want to? I understand it saves space, but what if I wanted to email the full size photo to someone. This also may defeat the purpose of some editing programs. I would like to know how to do the same with audio.
     It does not affect the original files in anyway, correct? Also, I using the manual drag and drop option for Movies and audio. I sync with the photos.

With syncing photos you can't change how they are synced, iTunes will 'optimise' them when copying them over to the device - and no, the original photos on your computer are not affected, iTunes creates separate 'optimised' versions of the photos on your computer and copies those over.
If you want the original versions of the photos on your iPad then (and if there were only a few that you wanted full-scale) you could email them to yourself and use 'open in' in the Mail app to copy them to the Photos app, or use the camera connection kit with your iPad to copy them via an SD card to it - photos copied via the kit are copied full resolution, they aren't changed.
Or there are third-party photo management apps such as Photo Manager Pro which can copy photos to/from your computer via the 'file sharing' section on the device's Apps tab in iTunes, they will be copied as-is - that app can also copy photos to/from it and the Photos app.
For your music, on the device's Summary tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, under the Options heading have you currently got the 'convert higher bit rate songs to ...' set ?

Adobe Connect HTML5 Audio files notworking

I have been testing my HTML5 files in Adobe Connect but suddenly the audio files stopped working when I test it on my IPad or my IPhone (It works fine in the PC). I still being able to hear the clicks but not the ‘text to speech’ or any .wav file.
Also, I have tried to replay the exports that I done in the past (sound was working fine in them), but now the sound is not working either for those.

I think there should be something wrong with the publishing settings.
It only happens with the slide audio - the object audio works fine in other screens.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?

How do I stop QuickTime from changing music files to movie files?

I use iTunes exclusively for music & have recently noticed that downloaded files (usually midi files) are showing up in my iTunes library as QuickTime movie files. I usually use Firefox for music downloads but occasionally use AOL, which uses IE. To the best of my knowledge everything to do with music is set to use iTunes, not QuickTime. Now that it's happened I have to go to each & every file & have iTunes convert it to an mp3 when I own a converter that can change all midi files to mp3s at once but can't change QuickTime movie files to mp3s. I had Opera set as my default browser since this began happening. I changed my default browser back to Firefox mainly because having Firefox open one or two seconds every time I open Opera was/is such a nuisance.
I believe this problem began because I attempted to manually transfer the files from my old computer to the new one (via the backed up files in my external drive). I was unfamiliar with Windows 7 when I did this. Microsoft changed the file set up from what I had been used to in Windows XP. I used XP for six years before being exposed to Windows 7 (I never had Vista).
I'm almost sure this problem has something to do with where I placed the application data when I was trying to reestablish the program set up on the new computer.

How do I stop Dreamweaver CS6 12.0.1.5842 randomly changing file permissions when it uploads files to my web server via FTP.
I can no longer trust Dreamweaver to upload websites correctly as it changes permissions on some files which then deny the server access to the file which in turn makes the webpage unreachable/return a 403 error.
This is driving me insane.

I'm having this problem too. Has Adobe fixed the issue yet? This appears to be an Adobe problem, not all the web hosts out there. CS6 is ramdomly (meaning: not every time) changing permissions on files uploaded with it and is not usable for web work until this problem is fixed by Adobe or a solution is provided. If I wanted to use a separate FTP program I would not have recommended that my employer buy multiple Adobe CS6 product licenses. One of the primary appeals of DW is the integration of FTP into the workflow.
I am using a destop iMac2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 gigs of 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
OSX 10.7.5
I am using DW Version 12 Build: 5808
Dreamweaver CS4 that I was using until this new purchase was working just fine. No file permisssion changes. I am being forced to go back to using it until Adobe posts a fix for this.
I should ask while I'm here: has anyone found a solution for this yet?

Now I know a method to get the length of a audio file by play it:
1 Create a Player, and add a ControllerListener
2.Start the Player
3.In the ControllerListener's controllerUpdate method, use getMediaTime() by receiving a EndOfMediaEvent
However I think this method is not convenience, if I don't want to play it how I can get the length of the audio file?

i'm making speech recognition project using java. i can capture sound by michrophone and playback it. the type of the sound is .wav.
my question is how to determine the recording duration (for example: determine the duration for 0.25 second) because i must recorded syllable,the assumtion is needed less than 0.5 second to say a word. and then.. can this wav file be changed into... binary or integer ?

My friend said if I used 8 bit for sampleSizeInBit (resolution in amplitude) the binary file should be -128 till 127 in range according to the bit. How can I do that?
I'm able to add the audio and the picture, however I can't stretch the picture to 8 minutes.

Hi mcanovas - Simply duplicate the picture as many times as needed. In the Photos pane you can extend the pic to 30 seconds, so duplicate that 16 times and there you go!
