How do I stop Safari's content from wobbling?

In Lion, there is this insipid wobbling of the page's view (programmer terms, I know) when the page has no scroll bars (scrolling set to always on) and you use the magic mouse's center point to finger scroll up.
The "view" scrolls away from the top left corner to display nothing, then snaps back.
As I am a leftie and I EXPECT the scrolling to STOP AT THE END OF THE SCROLL REGION, how do I burn this setting to NEVER EVER DO THIS.
It is distracting and useless and irritating.
this even happens witn an empty page.
I never ever want my UIScrollView's content to allow the content's view pane to drag away form the edges that contain it.
This didn't happen in Snow Leopard and my Mac with a 27 inch screen and a 17 inch screen is not an iOS device.
Please, for the love of babies and puppies, how can we make this stop?
Is there a pList setting for Safari that will allow the UIScrollView.bounces to = 0 or UIScrollView.elasticty = 0?
Can I edit the Framework header in /Library/Frameworks to set the default to NEVER for all epplications?
Please.  I can't use Lion with this is happening all the time I mistakenly trigger a scroll with my middle finger using the Magic mouse.
It is horribly distracting.
Thank you.

Thanks Carolyn, but this is a result of how Apple rebuilt their code.  On iOS, there is a thing called a UIScrollView.  Setting bounces to 0 makes the scrolling not bounce.
Lion is different.  It uses an NSScrollView. (I just did the research)  In it is a property called "Elasticity" which determines this: Allow content to be scrolled past its bounds on this axis in an elastic fashion.  Things that scroll generally sit within an NSScrollView on the screen.  It turns out the NSScrollElasticity is responsable for that.  It's defined in NSScrollView.h.
    #if MAC_OS_X_VERSION_10_7 <= MAC_OS_X_VERSION_MAX_ALLOWED
    enum {
NSScrollElasticityAutomatic = 0, // automatically determine whether to allow elasticity on this axis
NSScrollElasticityNone      = 1, // disallow scrolling beyond document bounds on this axis
NSScrollElasticityAllowed   = 2, // allow content to be scrolled past its bounds on this axis in an elastic fashion
If you open this folder, you can see the file on your hard drive.
/System/Library/Frameworks/Appkit.framework/Versions/C/Headers/NSScrollView.h
Dunno if modifying that file would help anything, but in any case, I would love for a preference file (pList) to automatically set all NSScrollViews for an app to use NSScrollView.NSScrollElasticity = NSScrollElasticityNone
I think that would work, but I don't yet know how to do it and do it for all apps.

  • How does one stop Safari for Windows from auto resetting itself?

Safari for Windows running on XP Pro SP2 on a Dell Latitude D520
gets its settings reset automatically somehow. Also, the saved
userids/passwords randomly get "lost". These behaviors occur whether the
system is left running (with Safari terminated) then Safari is
started or when the the system is put in sleep mode (with Safari
terminated) and Safari is started after waking the system or when
the system is put into hibernate state (with Safari terminated) and then
Safari is started when the system is woken from hibernation. The
resetting and lost UIDs/PWDs is a random occurrence; it may, or may
not, occur after any one of the three use cases described above.
This behavior is becoming very annoying and will cause me to dump
Safari for Windows as my patience wears thin.
Any known solutions or suggestions will be greatly, and gratefully, appreciated.

  • How can I stop safari from auto completing url's on my iphone 4 and ipad2?

How can I stop safari from auto completing url's on my iphone 4 and ipad2?  On both devices I have cleared history, I have gone into settings-safari-and cleared history and cleared cookies & data, tried turning my devices on and off and I also have private browsing turned on. Both devices are operating on iOS 5.  When I type in a url I don't want anything to show and auto complete.  Any suggestions?

    This indicates corrupt files.
    A restore should resolve.

  • How do I stop Safari from 'pinwheeling' whenever I am using Yahoo Mail? I really need a correct answer please.                                                                                             Mail? I need a correct answer please.

How do I stop Safari from 'pinwheeling' whenever I try to use Yahoo Mail?
I really need a correct answer please. Other answers have only suggested how to access Yahoo Mail without using Safari. I want to continue using Safari to access Yahoo Mail,if possible.  Thank you.

    Could be a cookie issue...
Go to Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab then click Show Cookies
Type yahoo in the serach field then click Remove All > Done
    Quit then relaunch Safari.
Try accessing your Yahoo mail account.
FYI... there is rarely a sure fire correct response for third party web based email client software. Often takes time consuming troubleshooting.

How do I stop all the tabs from closing at once in Safari v 6.0.3?

Activate cycle mode, adjust cycle area as needed and export tracks as audio files, no?

Or cut globally at position 2min and 3min, then mute manually regions before and after the 2 - 3 minute range, bounce and get rid of the not needed silence in the audio.
    Cheers!

  • How to stop safari on ios7 from remembering history?

How to stop safari on ios7 from remembering history?
I hate to continually delete my history. Is there a way to stop it or set it to delete it on its own every day?

    Hey Bigchins!
I have an article here that can address your question for you. The feature you are looking for is called private browsing, and it is explained here:
To enable or disable Private Browsing, turn Private Browsing on or off.
Private Browsing in iOS 5 protects private information and blocks some websites from tracking your behavior. Safari doesn't remember the pages you visit, your search history, or your AutoFill information.
Note: While Private Browsing is enabled, the Safari bars appear black or dark instead of blue or gray.

  • How can I stop music and movies from being automatically deleted from my phone and saved on the cloud? I've just tried to watch a movie on my 2 hour commute, but yet AGAIN it has been removed. I do NOT want to spank all of my data allowance

How can I stop music and movies from being automatically deleted from my phone and saved on the cloud? I've just tried to watch a movie on my 2 hour commute, but yet AGAIN it has been removed. I do NOT want to spank all of my data allowance downloading it again, especially because (believe it or not) I added it to my phone because that's precisely where I wanted it!! Any help much appreciated

FYI I had to put this link into firefox to reply - because **** back safari just wouldn't register my clicks to any of the links on the post... Despite reloadeing and even restarting my computer. Totally annoying and a massive pain in the ***.
But in terms of my initial query; thanks for responding. But no, this is NOT the cause of the problem. I have auto sync and sync over wifi activated, but have also selected manually manage music and videos. Plus, all of my music and videos are on my macbook, absolutely all of it, so if it my phone was syncing with my macbook everything would still be on the phone. Life would be peachy if my phone jsut copied everything that was on my macbook, but unfortuantely it keeps deleting tracks for no apparent reason.
Any thoughts greatly welcomed, because at the moment i can only conclude that my iphone is crap.

  • How do I stop Logic Pro X from trying to load a 32 bit plug-in that's no longer installed

How do I stop Logic Pro X from trying to load a 32 bit plug-in that's no longer installed?  I noticed it occurring on projects where I used Miroslav Philharmonik. I keep getting prompted when opening the projects. I uninstalled Miroslav thinking it would stop, but it didn't.

Assuming you are talking about the boxed set of Logic Studio (Logic Pro 9) on DVDs the only solutions are to either borrow or purchase an external CD/DVD drive and use that with your new MBP.
Amazon sells a very reasonably priced 'Amazon Basics' external CD/DVD drive suitable for the process...
    http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Portable-External-Optical-Drive/dp/B003M0NT1M /ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416924310&sr=8-1&keywords=CD+DVD+external+drive+amazon+ basics
Do NOT try and copy Logic across from your Mac to your MBP using something like Time Machine or Migration Assistant... 99% of the time, doing so results in all kind of weird issues later on.
Just install Logic pro 9 plus all it's content from scratch using the DVDs provided with Logic Studio Boxed set.....

  • How do I stop Serial "VISA Read" from giving me packets instead of available bytes.

    Dear Labvillians,
    Highlight:
How do I stop serial "VISA read" from giving me packets instead of bytes?
    Background:
I have a system that serially publishes 14 byte packets on a semi-regular interval.
At busy times, the producer of these these packets queues the data, effectively producing super-packets in multiples of 14 bytes sometimes as large as 8 packets (112 bytes).
My protocol handler has been designed to processes bytes, packets or super-packets.
My application now has multiple devices and the order of message processing is critical to correct functionality.
My observation is that the VISA read waits until the end of a packet/ super-packet before passing the data to the application code. (See Plot Below)
My expectation is that VISA read should give me available bytes, and not get too smart for itself and wait for a packet.
I have observed this on PXI, Embedded PC, cFP and most recently, cRIO
I have experimented with the cRIO's Scan interface rate, which helps with reducing the packet backlog but doesn't resolve to sub-packet byte read.
I understand that one solution is to Write FPGA code to handle it and pass the bytes through R/T-FIFO, and there are some great examples on this site.
Unfortunately this doesn't help with non FPGA devices.
I have also dabbled in event based serial reads but it is diabolical on vxWorks devices.
    Any Help is appreciated

  • How do I stop my MacBook Pro from making shortcuts on my desktop when I'm moving a folder

    So my question is,
How do I stop my MacBook Pro from making shortcuts on the desktop when I'm trying to move the original photo, all I want to do is move a picture from a folder on the desktop without making a shortcut!

    Hi RockHazard,
If you want to change the behavior of the Finder when moving files around you can use keyboard shortcuts.
OS X: Keyboard shortcuts - Apple Support
Way down under Finder shortcuts we find:
    Command key while dragging
Move the dragged item to another volume or location
(the pointer changes while key is held)
    Option key while dragging
    Copy the dragged item
(the pointer changes while key is held)
    Command-Option key combination while dragging
Make an alias of the dragged item
(the pointer changes while key is held)
    Best regards,
    Nubz

  • How can I stop mail on iPad from going to next message when deleting an email?

How can I stop the mail app from moving to the next message when deleting an email?
I like to keep messages as new until I can take action on them, but this just makes an unnecessary step.  I do not have this problem on my iPhone, but I am still running 5.0.1 on the phone and have the new iPad 5.1 software.

    Hi furiousbalancing,
With regards to deleting messages in Mail, you may find the following portion of the following article helpful:
To prevent the next message from being automatically selected (and marked as read), hold down the Option key when you delete a message.
    Mail (Mavericks): Delete messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14900
You can also use Command-Shift-U to toggle a message between Read and Unread (command should be the same in Mavericks):
    Mail (Mountain Lion): Keyboard shortcuts
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11679
You can also close the Preview portion of the Mail window, which should then require you to double-click on a message to open it and have it show as read (it appears the double click on the seperator may no longer work in Mavericks, but you should still be able to drag it to make it disappear):
