How Do I Stop "T-Mobile Website Suggestions"?

This problem started on July 6, 2014. I called T-Mobile, and they have concluded it was an issue with Firefox.
Whenever I enter a keyword in the top search bar, instead of going to the default search engine (Google, Bing, etc.), it re-directs to a site called "T-Mobile Website Suggestions"... lookup.t-mobile.com . This is a site apparently unfamiliar to T-Mobile tech support, so it could be some sort of malware hidden in either the phone or browser. But I want to disable this re-direct, so I can go to the proper search engine, selected in Settings. (I only get this problem on Firefox. Other browsers still go to the proper search engine.)
Thank you much.

This is the issue that jscher2000 identified. However you can directly click on the search engine item in the list to bypass the tmobile error page.
Unfortunately tmobile (and many other companies) abuse a part of the DNS spec called NXDOMAIN. This causes Firefox to get results from one word searches from tmobile.

You need to be a little clearer in what you're asking.
You can't make any web site in SQL Server - it's a database engine, not a website tool.
What you can do is create web sites that pull data from a back-end SQL Server, but the SQL server doesn't handle the client connection at all (that's handled by a web server such as Apache, IIS, or similar).
There are many ways to build such a site including .NET, PHP, Perl and more (although I don't know all the options for Windows servers because they're not as common outside of corporate/enterprise networks).
In either case, given your choice of development language (HTML, plus one of the PHP/Perl/.NET/etc. options), plus your database (SQL Server) plus your web server (IIS, Apache, etc.) you can make any web site you like (or, at least, you're capable of developing).
If you want to opimize that web site for iPhones then there are many references on how mobile browsing differs from the desktop. I'd recommend this book as a reference (and, yes, I understand the irony of linking to a paperback book for web design guidance ). Googling mobile web design (or iPhone web design) might yield more results.

  • How do I stop pop-up websites in Safari?

While using Safari random web-sites open new windows in my browser. How do I stop these sites from popping up?

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • How do I stop Firefox from making suggestions when typing?

A drop down window always appears when I'm typing in a website suggesting an entry. This even happens when I'm entering a password or answering a security question. NOT GOOD!
I've looked all over the tools to stop this and can find nothing. Can you help?

You can use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:
#click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
#highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key<br>do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
#press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

  • How do I stop Firefox mobile from making it's own connections to Google, AmazonAWS and netDNA despite choosing every available opt-out?

If I visit a simple web page which doesn't contain any 3rd party content I can still see Firefox Mobile making secure connections to:
108.161.188.224 - Registered to netDNA in the US
    74.125.230.* - Various Google servers
23.21.86.68 23.23.293.51 and many more - Amazon AWS servers
These always follow any page load, browsing from a desktop system makes no such connections and are established on a website such as lwn.net which have no 3rd party content on their pages.
I have unticked all options in telemetry and have no sync set up, I even tried disabling things like Safebrowing and add-on update checks in about:config but the very concerning connections remain.
Please help me find the option to make this stop. As the communications are secure I can't look at what they might contain and it baffles me as to what purpose they serve but question one is how on earth do I disable the worrying connections to companies I choose to avoid.

    Hi tryingtoescape,
On Firefox for Android there is a new experimental about page that tells you all of the network connections being made in Firefox.
    Try it, go to [about:networking]
To disconnect, go to Settings > Privacy > Clear Private Data then restart Firefox on the Android device. This will minimize the active sockets.
However even in private guest session there is safebrowsing.google.com, the default search engine and attached accounts. But you have already found a way to disconnect thest.
Does clearing the Private Data make an improvement?
    For specific connections mentioned:
108.161.188.224 - Registered to netDNA in the US 74.125.230.* - Various Google servers 23.21.86.68 23.23.293.51 and many more - Amazon AWS servers
You may be able to try an add on, one found was: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/silentblock/?src=search]

  • How can I view "non-mobile" websites?

Is there a setting that would disable the browser from automatically displaying only the "mobile" version of websites? Because, sometimes I want to see the "full-version" of such sites as CNN.com. Thanks!

    One thing that might help.
    Go to Settings > Safari
    reset History, Cookies, Cache.
One more thing that might help out.
When you access a website with the iphone or another mobile device, the website has a header script that reads the browser that is accessing. depending on the variables found, the script can redirect to an alternate site. So if surfing the web with an iphone, the web programmer can create a site optimized for the iphone and then redirect.
To learn more, this link might help.

    Hope this helps.

  • How can I stop videos on websites from automatically playing?

On many sites like Forbes and Accuweather, videos automatically start playing when I load the site. Not only is this annoying, the video also draws unnecessary bandwidth when I tether from my Verizon smartphone.
Is there any way through Firefox to prevent autoplay of videos on websites?
There used to be a plugin available, but no longer.
    http://just-ask-kim.com/stop-auto-play-videos-audios-firefox/

Adblock Plus can also block some of them if you never want to see them again.
But you could also use this option from Firefox:
    Type in the address bar:
    ''about:config''
    Then search for:
    ''plugins.click_to_play''
Double click and it will be set to true.

  • How do I stop download of website images?

It's the first time I've installed Firefox for Android. Don't see how I can block web page images and just grab the text content. Thanks for your time.

You actually can set the same preference under the covers that you would use on Firefox for desktop: permissions.default.image. Here's where/how:
    (1) Open a new tab to '''about:config''' (type about:config in the Awesomebar and tap the go arrow or tap Enter).
''You may want to bookmark this for easier future access.''
    (2) In the search box, type '''perm''' and pause while Firefox filters the list
    (3) Scroll down to '''permissions.default.image''' and tap it, then use the up arrow icon (^) to change the value from 1 to 2 (from "allow all" to "block all").
If you switch back to your other tab and load a new page, the images should be missing (assuming they are not cached).
    Success?
If there is an add-on for this (I haven't checked) that might be easier in case you find a site where you want the images because it's a hassle to switch back and forth using about:config.

  • How do i stop firefox from auto suggesting my email adress after i type the first letter

after the first letter typed it comes up with lots of suggestions even ones i've typed by mistake and i would like to clear these

You can very quickly eliminate the mistyped entries with the down cursor key and use of "Del" key on the selected item ("Shift+Del" on a Mac). So you would just have the ones you want. You do not need to type the first letter you can double-click within the entry box to see all items whether to use or to delete.
That does not answer what you asked. If you only want to suppress that, I don't think that would be possible with Firefox alone, but I also would not think that you would want to suppress all autoform entry because of that.

  • How do I stop Firefox mobile from having to restart when switching between apps?

When I'm switching between apps, firefox takes 10 seconds to load up again. Why isn't it already loaded since I just had it up? The Opera browser doesn't do that.

Android automatically closes apps in the background when it needs more memory. To let Firefox run in the background longer, we will need to reduce its memory usage. We are continuing to work on this with each new version of Firefox.

  • How do you stop mobile sites from loading in safari automatically on my iPad? I can't log into mobile me because of this.

How do you stop mobile sites from loading in safari automatically on my iPad? I can't log into mobile me because of this.

The me.com website is not designed for or intended to be accessed by iOS devices. Apple provides support in iOS or seperate Apps for accessing all aspects of MobileMe except for the Accounts section.
Use MobielMe as intended and you'll have no problems.
    See: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1673
Even if you use a different browser to get access to me.com on iOS, you'll find most of it is unusable.
Other websites that present you with the mobile version have been programmed to do so by their developers. They specifically look for users accessing from 'mobile' devices and switch to the mobile site. Many such sites provide a link to go back to the 'full' site, if not, there's not a lot you can do except use a browser that can pretend not to be a mobile browser.
