Just been given an iPhone 3 and am v frustrated as every time I receive a text the name of the person texting flashes up on the screen. I have worked out how to switch off the message preview but how do I switch off the name of the person texting?

Use VMware Fusion? But seriously, Fusion does what you want. It just puts a mini VM control menu at the top when running full screen (and that's configurable, too), so the main menu bar doesn't appear at all. Which means that it's up to Parallels to handle this. Are you running Parallels 7, which is designed for Lion? If you are and Parallels still doesn't offer something similar, you need to contact Parallels.

This is when the phone is unlocked mode. My snapshot is when the phone is locked.
Remember when you get a call when the phone is locked and you used to have slide to answer in iOS 6 and if you slide up you would have options to reject, reject with a message and reject with a reminder. We dont have that in iOS 7. iOS 7 *****, I cannot get back to iOS6, apple needs to be user friendly. Screen shot 1 when the phone is locked, screenshot 2 when the phone is unlocked.

Can anyone help with how to stop the software updater pop ups advising me to update to Reader 11.0.03? My antivirus advises the link in the pop up is unsafe, so I went to the Adobe website to update from Reader 9. The website doesn't offer X1, but did offer X, so I updated to 10.1.7.
Why is the site not offering a download for X1?

There are literally thousands of sites with videos (linked to from yet thousands more) that will prompt you to "upgrade" or update your already updated Flash Player. This is the most common method of delivery for malware like that.
A friend who runs a PC Repair business told me that if you've updated your Flash Player and you see a warning in a web page that you need to download an update to watch a video, it's an attack site.
A simple gesture of holding your mouse over the warning or link, will indicate the address it points to. If it DOESN'T say Adobe anywhere in the beginning of the address (download.adobe.com, or adobe.com/downloads), it's a forgery, and you should leave that page immedaitely. If you download and install whatever they link you to, it may play the content you were looking for, but you've just been infected with something that may lay dormant for months and then suddenly take over your whole system.
If you use your PC for work, you're really in trouble.

How do you stop the camera depth of field affecting one text layer?

, i'm doing a fly through sort of thing and as the camera slows down to give the viewer time to read some text the depth of field of focus runs out and the text begfins to get a little blurry, is there a way to stop the text from being affected by camera DOF? Do i have to make the text a non-3D layer?

I could adjust the focal length on the camera to match the text but that then makes some other elements in my project change their focus, or 'blurryness'. I was just hopeing to keep the camera as it was and just make the text layer be not affected by the camera's focal length. Turn off DOP for the text type of thing. Is there such a setting? Contrary to the rest of the nice folk here, I say do NOT turn off automatic error handling!
You will regret it if a day comes where you forgot to handle an error properly and you have a hard time determining its source.
If you truly want to ignore the error in this mode, you can wire the error out terminal into anything (even a wall). Once an error out terminal is wired, the error will not pop up automatically. This does not mean you should use this as a standard course of action. You should normally handle your errors properly.

I put something in the search bar such as "making centerpieces for baby shower" or I put it into google. Then a bunch of matches come up, I click on one that looks good, but immediately it goes to "re-direct" and a web site comes up that has nothing at all to do with the search like an auto shop or something.

I would need more details for this, as you have mentioned rulers move ? Are you referring to rulers on page in design ?
You can move a guide lower down the page , ruler marks will be displayed on ruler but that will not stop you moving the guides.
What happens if you uncheck rulers from top view options ?

How do I stop the "Reset Firefox" prompt appearing when there is no need for it?

Every time I start Firefox I now get the reset firefox prompt in the status bar:
"It looks like you haven't started Firefox in a while. Do you want to clean it up .... etc."
I use Firefox practically every day, so it is not true that I haven't used it in a while. After a bit of research, I read that Firefox may display this prompt if it has diagnosed other problems, particularly with add-ons. I haven't noticed any problems in my normal use, and I don't think that it is reasonable to expect me to wipe all my installed add-ons and then re-install and re-configure them again just to make this annoying prompt go away, when it is not giving me any details about the so-called "problem".
Is there any way of getting Firefox to tell me what it thinks the problem is so that I can try to fix it? Failing that, can this prompt be disabled completely?

I have repeated the test with nightly, but this time created the new profile on a local filesystem (ext4 FWIW) rather than an NFS-mounted one. As before the timestamp on .parentlock is not updated when firefox exits, so almost certainly a bug. If there is a problem with permissions/ownership, that problem is created by firefox, so still a bug :-) (given that the profile is a brand new one).
I'll report this on bugzilla as soon as I can.

How can I stop disc images from popping up when connecting a drive?

I have an external hard drive with several partitions, all formatted as Mac OS Extended. Two of the partitions are disc images of the install CD's for Drive Genius and Data Rescue from Prosoft Engineering. When I connect the drive using a FW800 cable to any Mac running Leopard or Snow Leopard, all of the partitions on the drive are mounted in the Finder and these two partitions pop up the window for the installer, as if I had inserted the CD. Is there a way to suppress these windows from popping up every time I connect the drive? Thank you!
