How do I stop the downloading of ALL 11 EPISODES of Downton Abbey? I can't watch any of them because they are frozen in PROCESSING.
I purchased Season 3 from iTunes and "downloaded" it. When I went to watch them, I found they were not fully downloaded, but just a small bit of each episode. As if each was holding a place for the rest of the episode to be downloaded.
I started watching these, but after each episode, it is as if the iPad info-structure rearranges itself. My GENERAL settings tell me I've used next to none of my 5 GB storage space. But when I try to watch a second episode, it tells me I have run out of space. A few times I was able to find a page that I could EDIT & DELETE the episodes i had already watched. So I deleted the earlier episodes and was able to finish downloading the next one. At an agonizingly slow pace. It took at least half an hour to download a 47 minute video.
Now I can't find the setting page where I was able to EDIT and delete the episodes I have seen. I have been reading the iPad Secrets Manual, trying to find out what is going on. Not the free LITE manual, but the paid manual. It should have been called the LITE manual, as it barely skims the surface. I have probably messed up my settings trying to figure out what is eating up my hard drive and battery.
Can anyone recommend a good manual that is written for a new Apple user - one that is not written in geek speak. And can anyone suggest how I can get these to finish downloading?

If you are seeing 5 gig of storage, then are you looking at Settings > General > Usage > Available (in the iCloud section) ? If you are then that shows how much space that you have available in the cloud, not on the actual iPad (TV shows don't use any of your iCloud allowance).
How much space do you have available on your iPad - it should be shown at at top of Settings > General > Usage, and in Settings > General > About > Available. It looks like the Downton Abbey episodes vary between about 1.8 and 2.7 gig each in HD format, 500 to 800 meg in SD format.
To delete an episode from a series, then select the series on the TV Programmes screen in the Videos app and if you swipe across the episode's name you should get a Delete button appear on it. If they are stuck in the Downloads tab in the iTunes store app and you want to delete them to stop them downloading, then try swiping across the name of it in that tab and see if you get a Delete button

I keep hearing that I can't email videos from iphoto because they are too big. What I don't understand is that I have emailed videos via email in the past. Why is that?
Look at your settings iPhoto>Preferences>Accounts
and make changes here or add your email account if not in the list
One thing to look at for sure is the SMTP sever name, I think by default it fills it in as smtp.me.com or some such, which may not be your email outgoing server. -
I do not want to use ios 8. How do I stop the download?
I have an iphone 4s and do not want to use ios 8. I thought as long as I didn't tap "Download and Install" I would be okay, but today, after entering my apple id, the download began on its own! I'm currently on airplane mode. How do I cancel the download? Is there a place to get the old ios 7 or will there be a way to revert?

If you have already downloaded the plug-in and you are getting a message telling you that you can't open it because it is not from the Mac App Store or from identified developers, that's caused by Gatekeeper > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290
To open the plug-in, right-click it (or press the Control key and click it) and choose Open. Another option is to go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and choose "Anywhere" under "Allow applications downloaded from" -
can anyone help please how do i permanently delete apps from the cloud because they are against my old email address? if i hold them down until they wiggle then try to re-install them they are showing with the cloud next to them, i.e its the old app that is against my old email address. ive tried everything ive hidden some apps that i dont use anymore because they keep popping up but there are some that i still use but can not update. iphone6 plus.

How do I get Applemail to stop downloading duplicate messages. It only started doing this 4 months ago. It didn't happen for 5 years before and doesn't happen to my gmail account.
For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

Purchased television show and dont want it anymore. But itunes will not stop trying to download it. Can't do anything with itunes because computer immediately starts downloading all these episodes I dont want anymore. Eventually fills disk, I delete them and it starts all over again. Delete keys dont work, nothing works to remove these items from my download list. You can keep the money!! Just help me buy something else sometime.

I cant believe Apple has discontinued the Classic without telling anyone - I need a new one and now they are all sold out!!!! Its crazy!! I have over 100Gb of music, in car, everywhere! And now when mine finally stops working (its on its last legs), I cant replace it as they don't do anything with the same capacity!! They have invented a great gadget and then stopped it! Usual big company mentality - oh well, time to start researching MP3 - no more Apple for me.....grrrrr

Wait. As per the suggestion in my previous post. There is after all, already an iPhone with 128GB capacity. Technically therefore, that would suggest that it is possible to produce a replacement for the Classic. But since I have no inside knowledge of anything Apple are planning, don't quote me on that!
Work on the basis that since your iPod is only "on its last legs" rather than "not working at all", it still has a useful purpose. Maybe by the time it does stop working, suggestion 1 will have come to pass.
I have no practical suggestion for avoiding a touch screen, it's the modern way!
Of course, if all else fails, and you end up with an iPod that has less capacity than your Library, you could resort to using Smart Playlists to manage your iPod, by using them to add and remove songs (for example, ones recently played that you don't want to hear for a while) and thereby keeping the songs on the iPod within its capacity. If that interests you, please ask and I'll explain it in more detail. -

This is most likely because you are using the same iCloud account on both iPhones. To use iCloud you both require your own Apple ID.
Unless you have a recent backup of your iPhone, then the contacts are lost.

We have been compromised within our businesses from an empolyee that was terminated with GNU Emac Api enulation program that has infiltrated all of our brand new Apple Computers. We made a decision to move to Mac's this year because of all our businesses being internet based and we are in several different platforms that require many different passcodes, email address, bank accounts, etc. It is not one seamless system that would address one email, password, bank account, etc.
Eacy time we change one segment of our business unit to move to the next one to fix, we go back to check the previous one that we changed and they have already been in the accounts and changed them so that we have to redo them.
The information is so broad and wide that the only way I know to ask this first questions - has anyone had this happen to them? We have seeked many avenues with law, experts, reformating our 2 momth old systems 2-3 times each and start over. They are the super users of this program and we can not get them out by changing passwords, accounts, etc. They have everything we do and make sure they keep changing it as we work on the next segment. They have cost our small business thousands of dollars already.
I am a victim of something that even the local forenic authority is stumped because they don't know where to start. We are not a banking instutition or 100 million dollar company to get the help we need. We don't want to find hackers like they have done to us, we want to get them stopped and get us back on track to start getting our businesses rebuilt.

Apple Support today spent 3 hours with us on the phone and our suppot representative was awesome, but they also said it was big and we need to reach out to the Apple community to see if they heard of anything like this crime. They are in the URL's, RSS Feeds and ghosting everything we do.
I was told by our local Mac support that this was done by someone that was highly sophicated and they did not know many people that could do this type of damage. I can't image that someone in the Apple community would not know of someone that can assist. The one security company we contacted was around $25,000 to fix this aweful crime.
We just want them stopped and put in jail so we can go back to business before it destoys us completely. They even installed emacs on all of our Iphone and androids. WE are being taped, video recorded and eery key stroke is recored. They are only taking us down in middle America.
