Even when I click no, the notification about I whether I want to allow others to see when I've read their messages keeps popping up, how do I stop it?

Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.
You can check the properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; Command+B on Mac).
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected.

It wont go away until you update. You can update from the iPhones settings over wifi or with iTunes on your computer, here's a guide:

As I understand it, if I change all of my email preferences to "No," which I have already done as shown in the original post (above), I should stop geeting those email notifications. And, further, if that does not work I am to send a screenshot of the Notifications Preferences (above) and a copy of the "Reply to" address of one of the emails that I am getting. I am having trouble doing that..
I assumed that they did not want the "Do Not Reply to" email address. So I am sending what I hope is the Reply toaddress from one of your emails that I received:

Firefox used to have a warning somewhat like that, but now a mix of secure and insecure content is indicated by a "globe" icon instead of a padlock icon next to the URL. The insecure content is not actually blocked.

It is possible you have an extension that blocks insecure content and displays that message? You could check the following tab, and use the Options button to see whether you can change the behavior:

How on earth do I stop those annoying notifications from popping up all the time showing me Items I've sold, bid on, watched, or bought months ago. It's annoying and it keeps adding no matter how many times I turn the **bleep** things off? It even asks the question like some robot that has no intention of doing what you ask. So even turning off these things doesn't stop them what does? Sometimes this stupid feature drops almost 100 notifications of things that aren't even current? Whose brainchild was this? I'd like to send them a constant stream of irrelevant notices every day. Please help!!!!!!

sorry , I don't seem to have a specific solution to your problem as I don't get that many notifications & I find I can clear them out entirely. For example, mine now states "You're all caught up!" - sounds good to me!!

Could someone please tell me how to stop safari/google from warning when there is text written in the search query box of google and I try to close the window? The message runs as follow: "*Are you sure you want to close this window?* You have entered text on "Google". If you close this window, your changes will be lost. Do you want to close this window anyway?"
I'm using Safari 3.2 and I have my preferences set to open new links in new windows rather than in tabs. I did try unchecking the warning message for closing multiple tabs, despite the fact that I'm not using tabs. However, that didn't work.

I would have to say it's a bug in Safari 3.x, as it apparently worked in Safari 2.x. I'm sure a bug report has already been filed on this, but if you want to give feedback to Apple about it and encourage them to fix it sooner rather than later, use this Feedback link.

How can I stop the display dimming when plugged into a powersupply. Cannot read playlist in car using music player.

My new ipod seems to dim after a short time, even when plugged into a power supply, unlike my previous ipod, which used to stay illuminated
when plugged into the car stereo and external power
Now in order to see the playlist I have to swipe or touch the home button, using the music player. However using a GPS app, the screen stays
fully illuminated......as it should!
Is this normal now for playing music?
Also, the new grey on white menu display for music is very hard to read in the car in bright daylight.......unlke the old white on black. Nothing I
can do about that sadly except complain to apple directly :-(

Hi Diavonex. Yes I was aware of this option.
Subsequently I have done a litle research and downloaded a music app called "Track 8" which has a much clearer interface (larger type) and the abillity to change the background colour to dark or light.
This is much more readable in the car in bright light, and much better at night too.
You can also turn off auto-lock within the application, which is great, as it doesn't affect other apps.
Although this app is really only an interface sitting on top of the music app, it offers a much better experience
in my opinion that the stock player which seems to have devolved rather than evolved.

I have had this same issue but thankfully fixed it. Follow he steps below:
Sync your iPhone with you iTunes therefore your info is backed up. Unplug your phone.
Go to Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Once your phone has reset and come back on answer the question until it asks if you want to back up from itunes Click this then plug your phone in.
After everything has sync'd back to your phone everything should work fine.

Change your settings in Sharing preferences, for one, and remove the server out of the Finder's sidebar. Obviously, this is the result of transfering all your other computer's preferences to your new computer.

i think in your requirement as you said you don't want to display items in universalworklist items under tasks so you can deactivate the connectors to UWL so that it won't reflect in UWL ,I suppose.Just try this ,just go to UWL administration there you can change the configuration itself.Follow this path
system administration>System configuration>Universal worklist&Workflow>Universalworklist adminstration>
Here you can define connections to systems as item providers for the Universal Worklist. The 'Connector Type' indicates the type of items retrieved through the connection. you can deactivate the alert connector or workflow connector based on your requirement. I hope it would work for you.
