How do i store a pdf file on the ipad?

how do i store a pdf file on the ipad?

There is the free iBooks app which lets you save PDFs (you can copy PDFs either via the Books part of your iTunes library or the 'open in' option in Mail), or there are paid apps such as GoodReader

how do I store and delete files on the iphone

Files/documents need to be stored/associated within an app on the iPad, unlike 'normal' computers there is no file system which allows you to save files with no means of being able to read/use them. So if you want to store a file on the iPad you first need an app on the iPad that supports that file type.
How you then get the file onto the iPad and into the app will depend on what the app is and what transfer method(s) it supports. e.g. some apps use the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, some apps support the transfer of files via your wifi network, the iBooks app uses the Books section of your iTunes (and the device's Books tab) to sync content, and other transfer methods include email attachments, Dropbox etc. The file is then found by going into your chosen app and opening/using the file.

With Adobe Acrobat.  It can also optimize your document to make the size smaller.

  • How can I embed a pdf file into the body of an email?

How can I embed a pdf file into the body of an email?

The problem is defining what it even means to “embed” a PDF file in the body of an e-mail, especially if you are dealing with a multiple page PDF file.
E-mail is either pure text, rich text (something akin to RTF in Word), or HTML. PDF is not compatible with any of these. Thus, to embed a PDF file, something has to be converted and that means the PDF would be converted to a less graphically rich raster format. But is that what you would really want?
I think that the MacOS and iOS e-mail clients do under some circumstances place an attached PDF file within HTML segments and by clicking on same, you get the equivalent of extracting the full PDF file, but I have no real experience with that.
Another alternative is HTML with a proxy image with a hyperlink to an external PDF file that is invoked when you click on the hyperlink.
Perhaps you can explain what you are really trying to accomplish and what the recipient of such an e-mail's actual experience would be?

  • How can I view a PDF file on my IPad? I only get the first page.

How can I view a PDF file from my Ipad, both in email and Internet links? I only get the first page.

Support for viewing PDFs in emails and web-pages is built in to the iPad. You need not have bought an app for that.
There are PDF apps that provide more features than the built-in functionality, but for basic viewing of multi-page PDFs no app is required.

  • How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

You will need an app (or apps) on your iPad that is capable of reading the documents, as they will be saved with the app - if you don't have such an app then there is nothing to transfer them to or to read/access them.
One method of transferring them is toconnect your iPad to your computer's iTunes, select it's app tab, and then scroll to the bottom of it - you should the apps That you've got that are capable of file-sharing (if you've got any).  Selecting/high-lighting one of them should then allow you to add files to it via the box to the right of it.
An alternative way to get the documents onto your iPad is if the app that you want to transfer them to has a wifi setting, which will then allow you to transfer the documents wirelessly. You can also send the documents to yourself as attachments and then use Mail's 'open in' facility to copy them into your chosen app.
Edit : more info on file sharing from the manual :
File Sharing lets you transfer files between iPad and your computer. You can share files created with a compatible app and saved in a supported format.
Apps that support file sharing appear in the File Sharing Apps list in iTunes. For each app, the Files list shows the documents that are on iPad. See the app’s documentation for how it shares files; not all apps support this feature.
    Connect iPad to your computer.
In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
In the File Sharing section, select an app from the list on the left.
On the right, select the file you want to transfer, then click “Save to” and choose a destination on your computer.
Transfer a file from your computer to iPad:
    Connect iPad to your computer.
In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
In the File Sharing section, click Add.
Select a file, then click Choose (Mac) or OK (PC).
The file is transferred to your device and can be opened using an app that supports that file type. To transfer more than one file, select each additional file.
Delete a file from iPad: Select the file in the Files list, then tap Delete.

  • How can I delete hidden video files from the iPad?

How can I delete hidden video files from the iPad?  These files were created on my MBA and when I changed the media type to iTunesU and then copied it to my iPad via iTunes, they did not appear.  I can see them using 3rd party software, but they don't have delete functionality.
    Thanks
    York

Interesting note:  I can see the files when I use the search function, but when I tap either file, I return to my home screen.  The video does not open.  I can transfer the file to my MBA, and it plays fine, but I cannot figure out a way to delete them.

  • How do I permanently delete Numbers files on the iPad?

    Friends:
How do I permanently delete Numbers files on the iPad? I use the trash button, and they seem to be deleted, but they are not. If I leave Numbers and come back, I can still load the deleted files!
How do i permanently delete them?
    Thanks
    Migs

Do you mean to delete them from numbers, or from the shared folder location in the upper right? The previous poster was addressing the second. If you want to completely delete something from the iPad, you must do both, the trash can icon when e current workbook is in front of the list, and swipe to delete from the shared folder list. It's two completely different locations.

  • How do I get my PDF files onto my ipad

I spoke to apple in February and they helped me put ove a hundred PDF files onto my ipad.  When I open acrobat under the heading of documents is where all the files reside. I even made subfolders. Well, I forgot how to do it and called apple again today and they told me with the new ibook update, all pdf files get placed under ibooks. not only that, I cannot make subfolders.  Their only suggestion was to get an account with acrobat and transfer them that way.  I uploaded the files here, but now I cannot figure out how to get them onto my ipad.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Jim

You can either select GoodReader at the bottom of the iPad's apps tab when connected to you computer's iTunes - it should appear as one apps that support file sharing (there is info on file sharing in the manual which can be downloaded from here http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad). Or the app itself supports wifi transfer via you wifi network - just touch the wifi symbol (next to the camera) at the bottom of the app on your iPad, and you should be given an address to use on your computer's browser so as to transfer files to/from the app.

  • How to control text for PDF Files in the BI7.0 Broadcaster

    Hi ,
I am running a web template in the BI7.0 Broadcaster. The output prints in the PDF format. In the precalculation tab I have set up 4 variables(VAR1,VAR2 .. etc) . The main folder where these PDF files get stored I can control the text but dont know how to change the PDF file names which fall into this folder. All the PDF files have the technical name and number(like XXX_00000,XXX_00001 etc.) How can I control the text for these files.
    Thanks,
    Kal

    HI Kal,
it is not possible to get any influence on the filenames. If you use Filternavigation the filename is generated to be unique.
    best regards,

  • How can I save a pdf file on my ipad so I can view it later

I want to be able to view a pdf file on my ipad when I do not have access to internet but I can't seem to save it on my ipad

You need an app into which it can be saved. Download iBooks or Adobe Reader which are both free in the App Store, then you can save the PDF files into one of those apps. I prefer Adobe Reader because you can annotate, highlight, rename create folders, add your signature and do some other things that you cannot do with iBooks.
After you download one of those apps, tap the PDF file in order to open it, than tap on the screen somewhere in order to make the sayer icon appear in the upper right corner. Tap the share icon and then select Open In iBooks or Adobe Reader from the resulting pop up window. That will save the file to the app.

  • How can I make a pdf-file of the front panel?

I like to make a pdf-file of the front panel. Thus I need a vi, where I can input the printer name (as the pdf-printer is not the default one), the vi and the name of the future pdf-file.
    Thanks, Verena

Try this and if you were to search the forum with "pdf" as the search parameter, you'd find several postings on the same subject. One of them is here and another is here with some email addresses of individuals with existing toolkits.
