How do I store documents iniCloud?

Before iCloud, I could copy any document to iDisk and utilize it. How do you do this in iCloud? I have many PDF's still on iDisk. ? I know I can share docs using iWork and iLife, but what about MS Office or PDF's? I would love to have the same functionailty I had with iDisk...

Welcome to the discussions,
there is no disk mode for the ipod touch like it is for the other ipods. But there are app in the App Store which let you store documents, for example "air sharing" or similar.

I'd like to access documents from my iPhone that I've created on my MacBook Pro. In the way that I could access documents on mobile me.
    thanks

You can use iCloud to access documents created by apps such as Pages and Numbers. There is no way to store documents not created by apps specifically designed for iCloud.

That method ended with Mobile Me.

  • How can I store document on a network disk?

With the old Pages I was able to store and edit documents right from my network disk (where I have full permissions on). I updated to the new version, with the big changes, and now suddenly it tells me it is unable to store the document because I apparently don't have the right permissions. I checked the network device and I got full permissions, besides all other apps don't seem to have that problem, even more specific when I boot up the old Pages I can store and edit documents again without problem. So it really seems it's something in the new Pages that is causing the problem. Also, the latest update did not address or solve this issue.
It get's even worse. When I create a new document and store it on my own disk and then drag it to the network disk, there is no problem. When I open that document from the network disk and edit something and I try to re-save it, it tells me "I don't have permissions to store the document" and it messed up the document on the network disk from MyDocument.pages to MyDocument.pages.sb-76d48d4f-LvItH9, and instead of a file it is now a folder. This was behavior which was also not seen on the old Pages.

Pages 5 has over 90+ missing features plus annoying bugs like this.
Your previous Pages should be in your Applications/iWork folder.

I asked a question about the iDisk and it looks like that's going away, but you could try one of these services:

The iDisk will disappear, and its contents be erased, when MobileMe terminates at the end of June. iCloud does not provide an equivalent replacement, so you will need to look for a third-party alternative. This page examines some options:

Through the apps themselves, what files were you thinking of.
By the way, if your profile is correct, you don't have iCloud. iCloud comes with OSX 10.7.2 or later.

Look in the app store for accessing Windows File servers.

  • How to store documents in my ipad

I received few word documents via gmail.
How to save those documents to my ipad?
and am unable to attach documnet to my mail..
    Kindly advice.

If you want to store word documents (or any other file/document) on the iPad then you need one or more apps on the iPad that supports word documents - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
If you want to be able to edit (and create) word documents then the options include Apple's Pages app and from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go and QuickOffice Pro HD. If you just want to store them then there are apps such as GoodReader. You can use the Mail app's 'open in' function to copy/store attachments into other apps.
To then attach a document to an email you need to start in the app that contains the document and use that app's functionality (if it has it) to select and attach the document to an email.

iwork for ios accepts for upload and also happily opens all your Microsoft office files, from Office97 standard doc/xls/ppt to the 2011 versions of docx, xlsx, pptx and various other of these format extensions.
Notice : the upload feature in www.icloud.com is only active if you in fact own these apps on your iPhone/Pad/pod. it is not a feature of iWork for the Mac ( iwork09 ) which itself is not icloud capable at all.

How do I store my documents on icloud and access it on other devices?

If by 'Documents' you mean iWork documents, you need to enable 'Documents' in System Preferences>iCloud and then when you are ready to upload specifically iWork documents, go to http://me.com/icloud , navigate to the iWork sections, choose the page for the document type, and drag the document to it.
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm9d2051b9
Mountain Lion adds a few document types, and it's possible that others will be added as time goes on.
However if you are talking about other sorts of documents, then iCloud does not provide general file storage in the manner of the late lamented iDisk. You will need to find a third-party alternative: this page examines some options:

Getting Easy Access to iCloud Documents from the Mac Finder
Placing the Mobile Documents folder in the Finder window sidebar allows for quick access to files in the cloud:
From the Finder, hit Command+Shift+G to bring up the Go To Folder window, and enter the path to the user Library folder found at ~/Library/
Locate the directory titled “Mobile Documents” and drag that folder into the Finder window sidebar, or make an alias, this allows for easy access
If you poke around the “Mobile Documents” directory you’ll find another series of folders, some are named nonsensically based on GUIDs as this folder is not intended for general user access, but each one is in accordance to an application that stores documents in iCloud. Apps including Notes, TextEdit, Reminders, Mail, Keynote, and any other Mac app with iCloud support will be included.Making changes to a document that syncs with an iOS device will reflect in the appropriate app from iOS. Likewise, for any documents stored in iCloud the changes made to the folder will reflect on other Macs. Versions does not work here, so be careful with changes you make. One thing you may notice is that Camera Roll pictures are not stored in here, but there is a similar way to access the iOS Photo Stream from Mac OS X too if you use that feature on an iPhone or iPad.Heads up to MacWorld for the recent tip reminder

    hidden files in Finder
    terminal copy&paste:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE ;killall Finder
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE ;killall Finder
if it is just the user library you are looking to change:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library

  • How do I store and delete files on the iphone

how do I store and delete files on the iphone

Files/documents need to be stored/associated within an app on the iPad, unlike 'normal' computers there is no file system which allows you to save files with no means of being able to read/use them. So if you want to store a file on the iPad you first need an app on the iPad that supports that file type.
How you then get the file onto the iPad and into the app will depend on what the app is and what transfer method(s) it supports. e.g. some apps use the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, some apps support the transfer of files via your wifi network, the iBooks app uses the Books section of your iTunes (and the device's Books tab) to sync content, and other transfer methods include email attachments, Dropbox etc. The file is then found by going into your chosen app and opening/using the file.

  • How to attach a document from cloudOn to my online application form or website

How to attach a document from cloudOn to an online application form or website?

You will need an app (web browser) capable of both storing a document and accessing the site's functionality sufficiently enough to upload a file. Safari can't do this (and I'm pretty certain CloudOn can't either). A couple of options:
iCab Mobile - store documents in the Downloads section and has settings to both change the BrowserID to a non mobile browser to unlock site functionality, and has a setting for uploading files from its storage rather then iOS in general. Its not free, but not very expensive and is a pretty could all around web browser in its own right. I've been using it for quite some time.
iUploader - has both free (trial) and paid versions. I've only experimented with it a bit, but works fairly well. Like iCab, has its own file container that you up load from.
In both cases you would need to transfer your files from the source app (CloudOn, in this case) to the file storage, and then access the website.
