How do I submit my form as PDF in email?

I just completed a PDF form with a Submit by email button, I was able to set the email id but when i press Submit by Email button, it attaches an XML. How do I make LiveCycle Designer save the form as pdf and attach it to the set email id? Help please

Open your form in Acrobat Professional.  Using the Advanced pull down menu choose, "Extend Features in Adobe Reader".  You'll get a warning message which includes the following note - "Once reader enabled, certain functions,such as editing document content or inserting and deleting pages will be restricted." Read so you are sure this is what you want then choose Save Now.  Reader rights are now enabled.
To answer your question on usage rights, I went right to the acrobate users group and copied their indepth explanation
"To summarize the EULA as it relates to enabling PDFs, you are granted permission for enabling a PDF for a maximum of 500 uses. This means that if you post a PDF enabled form on your Web site and 500 people fill out the form, you're within the licensing agreement. If you enable a form where more than 500 people fill out and submit the form back to you, you're not complying with the licensing in the EULA. There are many uses for staying within the 500 limit. You might want to enable files used as a purchase order form, a travel expense form, a vacation leave form, etc. The form can be used by several Adobe Reader users many times, but needs to stay within the 500 use limitation.
For a huge number of appliications this new enabling feature is designed for people who don't have industrial strength needs for forms distribution that require purchase of LRES. A charity golf tournament, a small conference, a PTA event, etc. are all likely candidates for using the new enabling features in Acrobat Professional."

  • Submit completed form as pdf excluding previous pdf pages.

    I have created a pdf binder which consists of 5 pages and a form which was created in Acrobat (not Livecycle).  I created a submit button which submits the completed form (page 5) as a pdf back to me. The problem I am experiencing is that the entire PDF document is emailed back. How can I isolate the form from the previous pdf pages. I am using Acrobat Pro vrs 9 on a windows XP machine.  Or am I going about this incorrectly from the start.

    Change the submission to be just the data, not the form. Select FDF, XFDF, or XML. For your application, I would use FDF. If this form is for others to e-mail back to you, then be aware that e-mail submission is subject to problems that you can not prevent (all associated with the client machine configuration). Thus submission to a web script is ALWAYS preferred. Also, you may want to save the from as backward compatible to be sure folks with older versions of Acrobat or Reader do not have problems with it. Backward compatibility can be obtained with Document>Reduce File Size or with the PDF Optimizer. If you used some new features, they will be lost (but of course those are the features that would have caused problems).
    Once you have the FDF file, you can simply import it into the form (in some cases, just clicking on the FDF will open it in the form if you did not move the form on your system. You can then export the data to other formats (see the manual for more info, or just play around with it).

  • How do I submit a form to a LC process using the process fields component in LC Designer

    The process fields are ONLY needed if you're planning to use the form offline or through email. If you submit the data back to a servlet, you just need to put a submit button on the form.

  • Why did you not explain how to return a filled form via pdf file?

    Why is there no explanation on how to return form via pdf file?'

    Unfortunately, because IRS forms are XFA forms, the flattenPages method that the tool Gilad mentioned won't work, and neither will Preflight or PDF Optimizer.
    You can fill-in and save the form with Acrobat or Reader, open it in Preview, and select: File > Print > PDF > Save as PDF
    or "Save as Adobe PDF" for that last step. You may have to fiddle with the scaling to get it right.

  • How can I submit the form back to the server, then reload the page again

    Hi
    I have 2 comboboxes, one is already populated with data by the time the page is loaded. The second combobox will be populated depending on the value chosen from the first combobox
    I need to know how can submit the form to go back to the server with the selected value from the first combobox, get some data from the database and then regenerate the whole page again filling the second combobox with the collected data
    for example, here s my select tag:
    <select name="country" id="firstBox" onchange="populateSecondList()">
         <option value="" SELECTED>
         </select>
    <select name="city" id="firstBox">
         <option value="">
         </select>
    what should I have to add in the retrieveSecondOptions() function?

    declare a second combo box in a iframe and to iframe tag there is attribute to which you can sepcify the file name like one.jsp
    now call onchange event on first combo box and forward request to one.jsp

  • How to convert an HTML form to PDF

    Is there any way to convert HTML page (with text boxes,radio/submit buttons) into a PDF file so form can be entered in a PDF format??

    HTML to PDF with Java, using OpenOffice.org - example here: [http://www.dancrintea.ro/html-to-pdf/|http://www.dancrintea.ro/html-to-pdf/]
    You can use OpenOffice.org, running as a server and command it remotely for document convertion.
    Besides HTML to PDF, there are also possible other convertions:
    doc --> pdf, html, txt, rtf
    xls --> pdf, html, csv
    ppt --> pdf, swf
    Code example:
    import officetools.OfficeFile; // this is my tools package
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(new File("c:/test.html"));
    FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(new File("c:/test.pdf"));
    // suppose OpenOffice.org runs on localhost, port 8100
    OfficeFile f = new OfficeFile(fis,"localhost","8100", true);
    f.convert(fos,"pdf");

    well if you are filling some textfields you can do a onchange call so you can submit the form, or use any of the existing functions to do that.

    This is quite a difficult task and you'd need to be a fairly

  • SAP forms to pdf and email

    I need to email sales orders as PDF files.  Is there a fairly easy way to do this?  I have the "SAP" email function working,  Just need to send the form as PDF instead of JPG.
    Thanx,
    Tim Pope

    Hi Tim,
    In the 2007A version, the PDF format will be available in the standard email function. I had heard a rumour that they would release the same functionality in the 2005A SP1 enhancement pack that has just been released but I cannot see it in the documentation.
    Other options are to use a third-party report writer or add-on (Third Wave make a Crystal-based add-on that should have the functionality you need). The ALD might also be capable of exporting and emailing in PDF format. Your final option is to write your own add-on and use the PrintEvent to capture the data from the sales order in XML format and convert it into PDF (search the forum as I'm sure I saw posts about available APIs that can do this).
    Kind Regards,

    Hi,
    can I set up the submit button to send the form data as xml and also include a copy of the filled out pdf-form?

    I know I can import data to a blank form in Acrobat Pro. Is it possible to call Acrobat from the command prompt?
    It would be really fine, if we could make Acrobat work together with our in house systems. Or is there another way to import data to a blank form?
    As I see it LiveCycle Forms is not an option, because the form data will be handled in a closed enviroment.

  • I want to have users submit the form in PDF format but it doesn't work using the email submit button

    Hi all,
    I have a form that I want to be returned to a specific email address as a PDF File. This is so that reservations people can open the pdf, and extract the information from it. Keeping it as a PDF will allow them to easily read and use the form.
    When I use the "Add and Email Submit button" approach, as outlined in the "How to" area, everything works fine, except that the format of the submitted file is in xml, not Pdf which is what I need it in.
    I then tried adding a Button to the document from the Library, and set it's "Control Type" to "Submit". This provided me with the submit sub-tab, where I set the "Submit Format" to PDF. In the "Submit to Url", I entered the following - "mailto:[email protected]" (without the quotes)
    The first approach works, but is not in the PDF format that I need (I believe).
    The second approach keeps giving the following error when one selects the submit button - "This operation is not permitted".
    We use Lotus Notes (yes, I know...not my favorite either, and it may be the problem here).
    Any help that might be provided is greatly appreciated!!
    Rob

    Thanks, but, using the "free" version of Reader, there is no opportunity to open nor import the xml data - the menu options do not exist - there is no import listed.
    If we try to open the xml file directly, then we get an error - something to the effect of "unsupported file type, or the file is corrupted".
    I just noticed in my Pro version that there is the command File ->Form Data ->Import Data to Form... command. Is this what you are referring to?
    What do you recommend? Perhaps the easiest thing to do would be to purchase a few copies of Acrobat Pro for the reservations people to use? I was hoping that the free version of reader would do it, but perhaps not?
    Thanks again,
    Rob

  • How can I submit a form that depends on another form?

    Hello,
    I have a jsp with 2 different forms. The one is a Login form and the other one does some calculations.
    In my servlet I want to be able to proceed with the calculation form (when I click submit) only if someone is logged in.
    How can I do that? Any suggestions please?

    Actually what I did is when I submit the calculation form in my servlet I am requesting the login bean ( this is where I store the username and password if a customer logs in, plus a boolean variable to keep track if someone is logged in or not) like that:
    Login login = (Login)session.getAttribute("login");
    But I want somehow to get the Bean boolen variable and check if it is true or false, but I don't know how to do it. I did the following and it didn't work:
    //create a new boolean variable to store the Bean boolean
    boolean checkLoggedIn = request.getIsLogged();
    Any suggestions?
