Could anybodt tell me how to subscribe to a podcast. When I go to Itunes they are all greyed out?

How can I subscribe to different podcasts on different computers?

Up until recenlty, I could susbcribe to different casts on two different computers. I sync my iPod with my iMac at home, and use this for most of my podcast listening. At work, I had a different set of podcasts I listened to at my desk. Now, I get both sets of casts on both computers. I don't want this! Seems like it came with an upgrade to iOS7, and or something to do with iCloud, but I cannot figure this out.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Exact same issue. I subscribe to Podcasts on my computer and my husband subscribes to different Podcasts on his computer, but we use the same Apple account. If I delete Podcasts from one computer it deletes them from the other. This wasn't the case until the recent upgrade to iTunes. I don't use the Cloud for any type of syncing, everything is done manually through iTunes.

As it has told you, you can use the itunes store of your country of residence and only while you are inside the borders of that country.

How do you subscribe with iTunes to a podcast not listed in iTunes store?

It's listed with Podcast Alley, and I'd like to have it automatically download in iTunes, feed my ipod, etc etc, all the organization stuff we love about Apple etc. But I can't findinstructions for how to add it to my list of iTunes podcasts and subscribe. Anybody know how to do this?

Click on the Subscribe button on Podcast Alley, it will take you to a new page. In the middle section of the new page is the basic URL you need to feed into iTunes. Copy that string to your clipboard and return to iTunes.
From iTunes, select "Subscribe to podcast..." from the Advanced menu. Paste the URL from podcast alley into the box and hit OK.

I CANNOT MAKE THE ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION TO WORK
AND MSFT Billing is ignoring the Problem Report we have submitted!!!!! We submitted the problem report more than a week ago and MSFT Billing basically said
"it should work - but without a paid support plan, we cannot allocate someone to solve it"
Billing even forwarded it back to Azure Support, who then called me, walked me through the issue, took screen shots - forwarded it back to Billing.
And Billing's solution was to cancel the subscription we had registered on the other account
And DO NOTHING about our issue.

How to change the author and "podcast website," in iTunes store?

my itunes store page is http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-fallacy-a-day-podcast/id469610386 and my podcast is hosted on a free account at Podomatic.
It seems that the information on that page is drawn from the data on my Podomatic feed, including the "iTunes" page in my Podomatic account. All I ever did on iTunes is to go into the store section of iTunes and submit the rss URL.
I've read the FAQ but can't see how to change these features of my iTunes store page:
1. On my itunes store page the title is: "The Fallacy-a-Day Podcast By The Fallacy-a-Day Podcast" but I would rather it be "The Fallacy-a-Day Podcast by fallacaday.com"
2. Also on that page, under "Links" on the right, if you click Podcast website it takes you to fallacyaday.podomatic.com but I would prefer that iTunes store visitors are directed to my podcast's home page at fallacyaday.com.
As it stands, my homepage is being completely bypassed by some downloaders (although I do mention it in the podcast episodes themselves) and I have no metric on how many people are downloading the podcast. My Google Analytics indicate a constant number of visitors each day while the Podomatic bandwidth usage is increasing. I have no idea of what proportion of downloaders are doing so on Podomatic vs iTunes. Podomatic's own statistics (for the free account) are almost totally useless because they oscillate wildly from one day to the next.

Everything in the iTunes Store about your podcast is carried in the feed: the title is in the 'title' tag and the link in the 'link' tag. Although I'm not familiar with Podomatic my understanding is that you don't have access to the feed yourself, but have to set the details within Podomatic.
It should be easy enough to change the title by changing it wherever you originally set it. As to the link, I've seen others complaining that it directs to the podomatic site and can't be changed. Obviously they want to attract attention to their own service. I imagine this can't be changed but it's something you would need to take up with Podomatic.
Even if you had the correct link most visitors probably won't bother with it. If they are interested they will subscribe to your podcast in iTunes and listen to the episodes there - there's no reason to go to the site. iTunes does not provide usage statistics, and visits to your website aren't really relevant.
I'm afraid that the problem with all these online services is that they are what they are - they make it easy to get a podcast up and running but the facilities they provide may not always be exactly want you want and can't be changed.

what would solve this? - options:
• different service provider
• dedicated server
• dedicated server with "Streeming Server" installed
• Use professional web streeming service
• use different mime type (like .m4v instead of .mp4)
• use a QuickTime Media Link instead of direct link
• Feeds not done right
• Videos not encoded Properly
• What ever etc.
im avoiding the Professional Services ($1000 for a Thousand GB+$$$)
but what will make this work better?

Actually, my guess is that you just haven't enables "Fast Start" under the streaming setting when you encoded your movie with QT Pro (or Apple's Compressor if you're using FCP.)
Try this: Open your original (before compression) movie in QT. Choose Export>Movie to QuickTime Movie>Options
Then below the sound settings is a checkbox that says "Prepare for Internet Streaming". Check it and choose "Fast Start" from the drop-down.
This will allow your movie to begin playing as it downloads. I'll bet currently it is not enabled and iTunes is waiting until the ENTIRE movie is downloaded before it begins playback. This will make it feel like it's not going to play. Does iTunes give you a dialog window that says, "Loading..."?
I just checked with the help file and it says you can enable Fast Start on movies that are already in their compressed format by simply opening the movie in QT, and then choosing "Save As">"Save as a self-contained movie". Apparently when you do this it automatically flags the movie for streaming and saves you the trouble of re-compressing all of your posted episodes. Try it on one of the old episodes and then reload it to your server and test in iTunes!

How can we make it so visitors to our podcast page can download a podcast without having to subscribe to our podcast?

Upload the audio file as a zip to a folder on your server. Create a hyperlink to that zip and it will download when clicked in the browser. This page describes the method for PDFs but it is the same for any type of file....

How do you fix a phantom podcast episode that won't go away on AppleTV?

Anybody encounter this or have any suggestions on how to fix this?
In a nutshell ...
On my MacBook Pro I am subscribed to many podcasts, one of which is GFW Radio. This MacBook Pro syncs with my AppleTV, so all podcasts are on the AppleTV. My podcasts all all marked as AutoDelete. I had listened to one episode of GFW Radio on the AppleTV, and when it synced with the MacBook Pro, that episode was marked as Not New. So on the MacBook Pro, it was deleted on next refresh. But on the AppleTV, it still exists. So I get the following error when I sync the MacBook Pro with the AppleTV:

The Phantom Menace strikes!!!
I have reset the AppleTV to factory defaults, presumably wiping it out, but it did not fix it.
I also unsubscribed from the podcast on the MacBook Pro and refreshed and synced so as to remove it, presumably, but no dice. Once I re-subscribed to GFW Radio, that phantom podcast episode was still there on the AppleTV.
Anybody know how to fix this?

I sync some free News related podcasts to my AppleTVs every night - NBC Nightly News, MSNBC Countdown, etc. When I go to my list of Podcasts, there are podcasts listed from years ago that I no longer subscribe to (LOST Podcast, Xbox podcast, etc), and I can not find a way to get rid of these.
When I look in my podcast folder in my iTunes library, there is nothing there for these podcasts. I don't even know where the AppleTV found these, as I unsubscribed from them years before I bought my first AppleTV. I bought and hooked up my second AppleTV this weekend, and sure enough, it is finding the same phantom podcasts.
Any ideas on how to flush the podcast directory to get rid of the unwanted podcasts??

The iTenes radio prgrams are not in the store and there is no Free button.
Just listen to them.

Most are free.
You don't "download" podcasts the same way you do a song. You subscribe and iTunes will get them when they are updated.

I can't subscribe to a podcast I used to follow using my Podcast app (v2.2) on iPhone 4S

I've been following some podcast on iTunes Store for a while but have not been able to listen to all new episodes. The podcast has stopped downloading new contents since then. Recently, I want to re-subscribe that podcast and get automatic download. However, when I tried to subscribe to that podcast on my iPhone, my Podcast app won't work. I hit the subscribe button but the podcast still couldn't be added to my subscription list. If I download any episode of the podcast, a message will appear saying that it's unable to download.
That podcast still works well on iTunes. I can still subscribe and unsubscribe and download new episodes and sync them to my iPhone.
I'm using an iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1.2, Podcast app v2.2.
Is there anyone here having the same issue? How do you fix it?

Are both computers connected to the Internet by the same router?
iTunes uses ports 80, 443 and 8080.
Could one of the ports be a blocked by a firewall or network blocking software?
What happens if you (temporary) turn off your firewall?

How do I play only 1 podcast?

When I listen to a podcast from a list I would like my iphone to stop at the end of the selected podcast. Currently it moves on to the next one in the list, can I stop it from doing this?

I should have thought it made more logical sense for items that were to be played in sequence to be included in a playlist, after all, that's what a list of things to be played is. The contents of a playlist are controlled, but podcasts just appear according to the subscription and synchronisation rules. The podcasts I subscribe to tend to be forty to sixty minutes in length, and usually one at a time is all I want to listen to.
My wife has motor neurone disease. The iPod iTouch has been a godsend for her, because she can listen to her favourite music and sports podcasts (she is a lifelong sports enthusiast) using the two fingers that she can still move. Like me, she prefers to listen to one podcast at a time. However, it's quite a bit of effort for her to lift the iTouch and tap off the next podcast when it starts, especially when she's just about to drift off to sleep. (It's remarkable how many people save their favourite podcast for listening to last thing at night!)
If there were a configuration in the Settings area which could turn this sequential play feature on and off, that would be excellent, and satisfy everybody. If Apple are listening, perhaps this could be included in the next dot-release of iPhone 2 firmware.

You might try creating a smart playlist specifically for podcasts. When you create the smart playlist, be sure "live updating" is checked. Once you've done that and know it's grabbing the podcasts, under "store" select "Update iTunes Match." The playlist should then become available on your iPhone.

How does RSS SUBSCRIBE button work?

Hello folks,
I am wondering, how do I input the information about my RSS feed, (like URL, etc.) into RSS SUBSCRIBE button. I insert this RSS BUTTON onto my podcast page, that's great. But how that button knows what URL of that feed is? What I mean is, don't I need to assign the information about my feed to that button somehow? I just don't understand, how would viewer be able to subscribe to my podcast by clicking on RSS SUBSCRIBE button when I did not assign feed URL to it. I have tried to find something in INSPECTOR, but I did not find any tools how to do this.

yes I had tried it on actual website, however, it was just very quick test, because I have that site for something completely different. But this is the scenario of what happened:
website URL is www.icebergfilms.com
on that server I have a folder named: PODCAST and inside there is the feed called: bcoutdoor.xml
All podcast episodes are also inside this folder.
So when I paste this URL: http://www.icebergfilms.com/podcast/bcoutdoor.xml into iTunes, it uploads and plays that podcast fine. But when I publish my site (into the folder) with iWeb, typing www.icebergfilms.com into that box, and then upload it onto that server, the feed does not work if you click on SUBSCRIBE BUTTON.
That's what does not make sense to me, how would iWeb know to look for bcoutdoor.xml if I don't actually give it that information. (unless it just automaticaly looks for any .xml file on the server and makes link to it)
I would expect to have some tool in iWeb, how to assign ot attach that feed to that SUBSCRIBE BUTTON, but there in none.
