How do I subtotal at each change in category without doing it manually?

How can I have 'numbers' automatically subtotal at each change in category? I could do it by adding a new row beneath each category then subtotaling each group manually, but I can't believe there isn't an automatic function to do this. I used to use excel and I would just put all of my data in then tell it to categorize then subtotal at each change in category.

This is an example of what I am trying to do, put these into categories then get a subtotal of each category and a grand total of all. Some categories may only have one or two entries, so not sure if having a table for each category is what I want. I am trying to get all of my data into a nice tidy form for my tax preparer. I may have to take Jerry's suggestion and upload version 2, or buy excel, just frustrating because I decided to convert everything to Apple thinking they were 'better'

I think the whole system is just not letting me (who does not listen to music since I'm tone deaf) send my music onto my wife's phone. I managed to copy the file somehow to her phone, but now I cannot delete it again, and I think having 2 itunes accounts is perhaps confusing things - I get the feeling we are not allowed to share music even though I have not got any apple devices of my own. I bought some music but cannot give it to my wife?

I want to set the status of the Outgoing IDOC to 03 , without doing a "COMMIT WORK" . Actually only after i do a commit work are my IDOCs dispatched. But with a commit work the IDOCs are dispatched immidiately. I do not want to dispatch it immidiately. Instead i want to hol the IDOCs till my LUW finishes , but the IDOC status should be set to "03" instead of "30".

After collecting all the idocs which are under status 30, run the program RSEOUT00 to change the status from 30 to 03.
If you want to do this process automatically then set the program RSEOUT00 in background.

How do you change quiz questions to look like your PowerPoint template without doing it manually on

We have a customized PowerPoint template with our branding colors and font applied. We need the Presenter quiz questions to have the same customized look. We need the questions to appear differently than the default, and we need our branding colors applied. I have been searching in Google, have read the Adobe Presenter 9 user manual, and cannot figure out if we can do this without applying the changes manually on each quiz question written. Is there a place in Presenter where we can customize the entire quiz question page? If so, where and how can you accomplish this?

I know it's an old thread, but Rob did do a good job of explaining how to setup a master slide for your Quizzes. Not sure that all steps still apply, but you get the general idea.

How do you import Maxthon bookmark folders into Firefox (without doing each .url individually)?

Hi, I am trying to import all my bookmarks from Maxthon into Firefox,. Problem is all my bookmarks are in folders, but Firefox Import will only let me do one bookmark at a time. Is there any way to import all folders at one time or at least folder by folder? Thank you very much if you can help.

The Maxthon support site mentions using "Favorites > More Actions > Export Favorites" to export the favorites. If that does not export all of the favorites then I can not help. You could ask on the Maxthon support site about how to export all of the favorites to an HTML file.

Can Mobile Me users change to Lion without doing anything special? For example, how will Calendars, Mail, etc. function if all are now synced with Mobile Me?

Presently, our Mail, Calendars, etc. are being synced using Mobile Me accounts. Considering all of the changes coming to Calendars, etc. with Lion, anything special to do before / during a change to Lion?

If you already have a Mobile Me account it will work with Lion until you change to iCloud or June 2012, which ever comes first...
Calanders, Contacts, Mail, Notes will become part of iCloud when launched (in the very near future), your iDisk, Photo Gallery and iWeb hosting will cease when you register for iCloud or in June 2012. So if you use the features of Mobileme that will cease to be, carry on using Mobileme for as long as possible.

Type the first value in the first cell and the second value in the second cell, Select both cells, grab the Fill handle in the lower right corner (Numbers v2) and pull it down to extend the series as far as you want.

How to create a new place in iPhoto 11 without doing any harm?

Yes, I know how to create a new place for a photo -- theoretically:
Select the photo.
Make sure the Info icon in the lower right portion of the iPhoto window is clicked and the too-tiny-for-any-but-the-youngest-eyes map is displaying.
Click in "Assign a Place..." and begin typing a place that iPhoto will search for. It searches in both "your places" (i.e., those that you have already defined) as well as in Google Maps.
When you see a place in the search results list that you think might be close to the one you mean, select it.
A pin appears on the itsy-bitsy map. Move it to the exact place you mean. You can make controls appear on the map by moving the mouse over the bottom of the map. The controls allow you to zoom in and out, and to change views (Terrain, Satellite, Hybrid). When the pin is where you want it, click it. The current name of the location appears. Modify it to the name you want, then click the check mark.
That's "all" there is to it ... except for a couple of "gotchas."
There's a difference between what happens when you select a place that you've defined and when you select a place that Google found in the search results. If it's a place that you've defined, and you then move the pin to a new location and/or change its name, this will affect all photos assigned to the custom place. In effect, you are modifying the place.
All places have a radius associated with them, thereby making them circles. You can adjust the radius only in the Maintain My Places window. In the itsy-bitsy map it doesn't even appear. However, if the newly defined place overlaps existing ones, all the photos assigned to the overlapped places will be assigned to the new one. Their pins will remain where they were.
Now, before anybody suggests sending feedback to Apple, let me emphasize that I have been sending Apple feedback on the wrong-headed implementation of Places since iPhoto 9.0. New versions have come and gone (the current one is 9.1.2), but these "features" have remained. So my purpose in opening this thread is to consolidate work arounds to these "features" in one place. My work around:
Whenever I define a new place, I select only a single photo. I try to name my places so that I can distinguish them from those that Google finds. In order to avoid Gotcha 1 I select a place that Google finds and try to place the pin close enough to where I want it, but far enough from any other places that I've defined. I give it a name that I can easily find it Manage My Place.
I immediately open Manage My Places and select the new place. I first note the pins near it, then decrease its radius, move the pin to the desired location, note the nearby places, and give it its final name.
I then view Places and navigate to the new place to view the photos assigned to it. If I'm lucky, there's only one. Otherwise, I have to reassign the other photos to their correct places.

So... in the hope it will not confuse folks more, let me be more specific of a procedure that works for me...
Procedure to create a new My Places location.
OK there is more you can do with a non-GPS Coord linked photo.
Click Info and then click Assign a Place in the lower right of screen. (if your photo has a location linked to it already the Assign a Place will NOT show up.)
Choose a location name near the actual location that Google Maps can find.
Click that location in the Google Maps list that appears and your photo will be temporarily assigned to that location.
Now type over that location name in order to make sure to give that location a unique name that will show up in your My Places list and click that name after you have typed it to be sure it is accepted.
Now in iPhoto click Window/Manage My Places and go the that newly named location in the large My Places map. There's no easy search. You have to run down through the alphabetical list.
Drag the flag to the location you want this place to be and click Done.
The location name is now in your My Places list at the location you dragged the flag to!
It is important to note that only your unique named locations show up in your Places list, so if you want to modify the location coordinates you have to establish a unique name for it.
This is much more complicated that previous iPhoto versions!

Change schema name without doing export and import

Is there a way of changing the name of a database schema without having to create a new user and exportng objects from the old schema into the new schema?
Are there any system tables that can be changed to modify schema name without creating a new schema?

How to Remove a Report Object from a Category Without Deleting It?

I'm trying to "remove" a report object (in this case a Webi Report) from a Personal Category. However, I've found that when I right-click on the report within the Category and choose "Organize >> Delete", not only does it remove the report from the Category, it also deletes the "source" report from it's original location... not good. (NOTE: If I try this as a user without rights to delete report objects, I don't even get the "Organize >> Delete" option, as would be expected based on the behavior I'm seeing.)
Does anyone know if there is a way to "Remove" report objects from Categories without deleting the report from its original location? The only option I can think of is to simply recreate (copy/paste) the whole category with all of its components (less the undesired report object) and then delete the original Category.

This is much easier than it looks like, although it's not intuitive.
For example, when some webi is in a category, categories where the webi is linked are underlined in blue:
If you click in those blue marked categories and click Accept, you're unlinking the webi/report/dashboard from that category:

How do I get rid of 10GB "other content" without doing a factory reset

I've read someplace that this is a bug that affects some people and I'm one of the lucky ones.
I don't want to do a factory reset because there seems to be some content on the ipod that itunes won't back up to my PC for some reason.
I have a 32GB iPod Touch 4 running the latest version ios 6.

Other is usually around 1 GB...
A ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup...
But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup...
Then a Restore as New is the way to go...

Financial Reporting Studio - Subtotals at each change in Member

I am using "bottom of Hierarchy" to pull all potential members but would like to subtotal at each change in member. I've tried auto calculation but that only works for the total. I know I could also make each member a line item and have a subtotal that way but this opens up maintenance issues (If we add a new member to the outline will we remember to update the report?).
Has anyone be able to do this?

You can do a conditional suppress.
Do you still want to show
A, B and formula column? If so add another data column which is nothing but A
So you'll now have A, B, formula column, Data column which is equal to A
Add a conditional suppress on formula column to suppress the column when user selects Chicago.
Add a conditional suppression on the duplicate data column to suppress this when member name is not chicago

Connect the phone to the computer. Open iTunes and click on the name of the iPhone in the left pane. It will allow you to change the name. You may have to double click on the iPhone name.
