How do I suite Delegated admin to my LDAP structure

Hello All
I've been working in a customer's Mail server (messaging 5.1, Directory 4.16) and I am having a problem with ida.
All the users are on:
ou=001,o=Student, o=People, o=acme.com,o=acme.com
And, the user's mail is [email protected]
Now, with Branch ou=998, o=Student, .....
They want all the users to have an e-mail address of the form [email protected] (DONE) and they want to have an administrator to handle the users in this ou
I tried to setup a mail domain with Delegated admin but, I see no way of mapping this new domain to this ou (ida expects things to be in the dc= subtree that doesn't even exist)
Anyone has any ideas?
Thanks

The image which appears in the Store page is referenced in the 'itunes:image' tag. This tag is present in your feed but the URL is of your website. You need to create an image, which should be 1400 x 1400 and either JPG or PNG, and reference it in this tag. I don't know anything about 'Podcast Suite': probably it has somewhere to enter the image details.

    facing an issue with the AqAdapter(Resource Adapter) in Soa Suite 11g Admin Console.
    we go to Deployments --> Select Aq Adapter --> Currently it shows the status as Prepared
    Now we try to Start it again --> it comes back with the error message mentioned below
    weblogic.application.ModuleException: weblogic.connector.exception.RAException:
    Jndi Name is null or empty. Errors were encountered while performing this operation.
    source path on the admin server is mentioned here for this AqAdapter:
    /opt101/app/oracle/SOAD/SOA11gR1/fmw/Oracle_SOA1/soa/connectors/AqAdapter.rar
    deployment plan :

    We check in the Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pools -->
    here it shows the Group as javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory and under it we have setup
    2 connection pool instances with JNDI names as : eis/AQ/aqSample & eis/aq/B2BAQ
    Could someone please help here as to what could be the reason why this error is coming and
    how we could resolve this.
    With Regards & thanks

    This is what we have done :
    1.Created the JDBC data source & connection pool as below :
    data source name : B2BAQ , JNDI name : jdbc/B2BAQ
    Connection Pool :
    URL : taken from the tns entries of the instance
    Driver Class Name : oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
    Tested this connection ..it works fine from the Admin Console
    2.Then go to Deployments --> AqAdapter -> Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pool Group -->
    Create a new connection pool instance -- General tab
    connection interface factory : javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory
    JNDI Name : eis/AQ/B2BAQ
    Then in Properties tab : Enter the Data Source Name : jdbc/B2BAQ
    Then we try to Start the AqAdapter from the Admin Console..it goes into Prepared status.
    The error message which comes is mentioned above.
    Is there any way we could resolve this ..that would be very helpful

  • Deleting users with Delegated Admin

    Hope anyone can help with this:
    When I delete a user with Delegated Admin (For Messaging 5.x) the user
    seems to be deleted in iDA, but it is not deleted in LDAP.
    Therefore, I cannot re-use it's attributes (like E-mail address) for
    another (new) user.
    This causes all kind of problems.
    I can go into the Console and through away the user, then everything
    works again. But I expected iDA also to delete the user if I use the
    delete button.
    Any ideas? Did I forget something?
    Thanks in advance,
    Niels de Troye

    Hi..
    the nda does not remove the user... is put it in suspend mode...
    you have to run the imsimta purge command to remove the user.. or to wait
    the server to do that
    in a day or so....
    take a look at the manual to see how you can do that...

  • Delegated Admin roles

    Hello
    I have 5 delegated admin roles assigned to a group.
    How do i get a list of delegated admin roles defined for that group in workshop( not through the admin portal )? Is there any API?
    Also do users of a group inherit the delegated admin roles defined for a group?
    Any help would appreciated.
    Thanks
    Vijay

    com.bea.p13n.security Package may gibve you some clue.
    Also, as a general rule, Roles are 'above' Groups. So if a user is a member of a group (which has a role defined), the user 'gets' that role.

    on the Delegated Admin page. It still shows the same number of users >11K we
    "had" prior to the deletion process.
    Any ideas to explain this discrepancy?The number of users displayed in the DA GUI is recorded in the "sunNumUsers" attribute associated with the domain e.g.
    dn: o=aus.sun.com,dc=aus,dc=sun,dc=com
    sunNumUsers: 11
    This is to avoid having to do an ldapsearch across the domain to get a count. You can manually update this attribute to get the number back-in-sync.
    The commadmin domain purge should have updated this value -- I couldn't find any pre-existing bugs to explain why it didn't happen in your case. I suggest you log a support case to get this looked into further.
    You may also want to check your directory audit logs to see if an attempt was made to update this attribute but failed for some reason.

    Shane.

  • Delegated Admin purge

    What process does the actual purge of what is deleted in Delegated admin?
    I have seen that you can change the purge interval from the default that is 10 days according to http://softwareforum.sun.com/NASApp/jive/thread.jsp?forum=15&thread=9941&message=16532&q=7075726765#16532 . But that makes no difference ! Users and domains are never deleted. Only the inetuserstatus changes to "deleted".
    Do I have to create a cron job that runs for example "imadmin user purge" or how should it work ? Can not find any info about this in any guide...
    Is the webserver that runs IDA1.2sp1 (6.0 SP5) supposed to run anything ? (What ? There is nothing in ns-cron !) or should IMS5.2sp1 run anything (what ?).
    I have changed the grace period for users and domains according to the link above to "0" and restarted everything. If I then create a user in IDA and the delete it, it is removed from IDA directly, but stays in IDS51sp1 as inetuserstatus=deleted and is never deleted.
    Can the known bug 4621763 from the release notes to ims52sp1 have anything to do with this ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi !
    Thanks for the answer. I think it's a little bit clearer now....
    However. It seems like when I run an ldapsearch for inetuserstatus=deleted I got entrys like this....
    uid=claha,ou=people,o=testdomain.se,o=isp
    uid=claha
    uid=emil,ou=people,o=testdomain.se,o=isp
    uid=emil
    But when I run an .....
    imadmin user purge -D "ServiceAdmin" -w "Serviceadminpasswordputhere" -n "Serviceadmindomainputhere" -v -g 0 -l claha
    (I have tried to add "-d testdomain.se" and other flags as well)
    It says that it's trying to purge [email protected] and that it does not exist !
    I have tried to write the command above in m a n y different ways without success.
    Any suggestions ?
    Everything is working fine except this.
    Thanks in advance

  • Delegated Admin- Adding user causes unhandled exceptions

    Now that I've finally settled on 05q1, Im trying to create accounts using the delegated admin GUI.
    I click on my domain, then on "New". I then fill out first, last name, role is Business OA, no postal address, assign no service package, change the loginId and two passwords. At this point, when I click "Next", I get a "Server Error" screen with this information:
    This server has encountered an internal error which prevents it from fulfilling your request. The most likely cause is a misconfiguration. Please ask the administrator to look for messages in the server's error log.
    The messages below show up in /opt/sun/webserver/https-imap.domain.com/logs/errors. I couldn't find any other error for ds, identity, admin server, etc. After this exception, I also have to log back in to DA. The messages are quite vague (from an administrative standpoint) so any help is appreciated!

    Might it have something to do with having not assigned service package? I read in the 05Q4 notes that in 05Q1, a service package had to be defined. I just tried to allocate some service packages to the domain and I get the same "Server Error" page when I click "Next" on the page where I choose how many service packages to allocate (i.e. the screen right before the "Summary" page)
    At least the errors are a little more informative in the webserver error log (sample below)
    I chose 3 service packages and attempted to allocate 50 each, No anonymous logins for calendar server and put in a calendar server hostname. All other fields were left to default.

  • Delegated Admin Woes

    We are running SunOne Messaging 5.2 Hotfix 1.21 with SunOne Directory 5.2 and are having trouble with the delegated admin console.
    In general (For 620 out of 621 domains) it is working fine and everything is OK.
    The domain that isn't working is one which has been migrated from our test server which was running Iplanet Messaging 5.2 (not sure which version of the directory). When you login to an account created through the DA you get a 'page not found' error. The address in the bar at the top also shows http://mailstore.domain.ac.uk for this domain whereas for the others it shows http://webmail.domain.ac.uk.
    If I create a user in the domain which doesn't work then it appears in the directory like follows:
    uid=testa, ou=people, o=subdomain.domain.ac.uk,o=base
    objectClass=top
    objectClass=person
    objectClass=organizationalPerson
    objectClass=inetOrgPerson
    objectClass=inetUser
    objectClass=ipUser
    objectClass=nsManagedPerson
    objectClass=userPresenceProfile
    objectClass=inetMailUser
    objectClass=inetLocalMailRecipient
    [email protected]
    mailUserStatus=active
    dataSource=NDA 4.5 Delegated Administrator
    mailHost=mailstore.domain.ac.uk
    givenName=test
    cn=test usera
    uid=testa
    nsdaCapability=mailListCreate
    sn=usera
    mailDeliveryOption=mailbox
    preferredLanguage=en
    inetUserStatus=active
    but if i create one for any other domain it appears like this:
    uid=testa, ou=people, o=subdomain2.domain.ac.uk,o=base
    pabURI=ldap://ds0.domain.ac.uk:389/ou=testa,ou=people,o=subdomain2.domain.ac.uk,o=base,o=pab
    nswmExtendedUserPrefs=meDraftFolder=Drafts
    nswmExtendedUserPrefs=meSentFolder=Sent
    nswmExtendedUserPrefs=meTrashFolder=Trash
    nswmExtendedUserPrefs=meInitialized=true
    preferredLanguage=en
    mailDeliveryOption=mailbox
    objectClass=top
    objectClass=person
    objectClass=organizationalPerson
    objectClass=inetOrgPerson
    objectClass=inetUser
    objectClass=ipUser
    objectClass=nsManagedPerson
    objectClass=userPresenceProfile
    objectClass=inetMailUser
    objectClass=inetLocalMailRecipient
    [email protected]
    mailUserStatus=active
    dataSource=NDA 4.5 Delegated Administrator
    mailHost=mailstore.domain.ac.uk
    givenName=test
    cn=test usera
    uid=testa
    nsdaCapability=mailListCreate
    sn=usera
    inetUserStatus=active
    There are a few differences.
    Which ones (if any) could be causing problems?
    How do I change the way that the DA creates the accounts to stop it happening?
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks in advance

    There is no way to "change the way Delegated Admin creates accounts".
    The trick is to figure out what's wrong with the domain as created already, and fix that.
    Suggeste comparing your domain data with what's in the "provisioning guide":
    http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6018-10/domains.htm

    Hi,
    Account Delegate Feature Facts:
    Account delegates have full access to your account. However, delegates cannot add, remove, or view other account delegates.
    You can add up to 10 account delegates.
    Note: Adding an account delegate does not give that person permission to use services that the account subscribes do. In other words for Windows Azure, the account delegate will not be a service administrator or a co-administrator.
    You might want to refer to the below article for more information

    Hope this helps !

  • IPlanet Delegated Admin .... Comm Express

    Hi,
    I am trying to checkout the SJMS 2005Q1...
    The classical iMS 5.2 used to have web based Delegated Admin....
    This would let me keep a DA admin for each domain...and each domain would easily access the DA page from web.
    in SJMS ....i.e. Comm express DA....this is a GUI...
    how can I give access to the DA over internet??
    What are the improvements of this new DA vs the old.
    Cheers

    The real "improvement" is that it works with Schema 2. If you decide to run your new server under Schema 1 configuration, you can continue to use the old iDA.\

  • I lost my emac G4 installation disk, how can i get my admin password back?

    I lost my emac G4 installation disk, how can i get my admin password back?

    Here's one method to reset the password without the install disc:
    1. boot computer and hold the "apple" key and the "s" key.
    2. wait for terminal show
    3. release keys
    4. type without the quotes: "/sbin/mount -uaw"
    5. press enter
    6. type without the quotes: "rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
    7. press enter
    8. type without the quotes: "reboot"
    9. press enter
    This will let you create a new admin account when you reboot your computer.
    Also, without the discs, look at Mac OS X Tip - No Password, No Root, No CD? No Problem.
    http://www.macobserver.com/tip/2003/06/16.1.shtml
    Here is a way to get around not knowing the admin password on Macs.
    To reset your OS X password without an OS X CD you need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:
       1. Reboot
       2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
       3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
              * mount -uw /
              * rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
              * shutdown -h now
       4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and you’re good to go again!
     Cheers, Tom

  • How do i reset an admin password without knowing the original?

    How can i reset my admin password on my macbook pro without knowing the original password?

    Insert a compatible Mac OS X DVD, restart with the Option key held down, and use its Reset Password utility. If the computer has a firmware password set, you need to know that.

    Hi,
    As your notebook is a business class machine, security is more stringent - the password is stored in non-volatile memory and there are no 'backdoor' passwords.  Your best option would be to contact HP regarding this.
