How do I switch location services on on my iPhone 4S?

How do I switch on location services on my iPhone 4S?

Just a FYI
From AppleCare they suggested  I reset all settings and it worked! "DO NOT CLICK ERASE ALL" just reset all settings.
You'll have to redo your passcode and wallpaper and enter you wifi password. Just small tweaks!
I hope this helps other looking for the fix on location  services

Silica Gel usually comes in a porous bag within a perforated box. Put the bag and the phone in a ziplock bag together. If you buy loose silica gel just put it in the plastic bag, then put the phone on top of it. Try not to get the grains of silica gel in the openings on the phone, as it will be hard to get out.

After updating to iOS7 on my iPhone 4 I cannot enable location services. How do I enable location services? I have tried turning off restrictions but that did not work.

I finally just resolved this after not being able to enable location services since upagrading to iOS 7. Posting the solution here 'cause I couldn't find it anywhere else.
I enabled Restrictions under Settings > General > Restrictions and created a passcode (I'm not sure if this was part of the solution, but it wasn't enabled for me by default.)
In Restrictions, under Privacy, Location Services was set to "Allow Changes" (This still didn't solve the issue of the greyed-out Location Services switch though - I still couldn't turn it on.)
Also in Restrictions, I also switched "Find My Friends" to "Allow Changes"
Once I did step 3, the switch under Settings > Privacy > Location Services was no longer greyed out and could be switched on.
    Hope this helps!

  • Left my phone in the movie theatre..what do I do? how do i contact location services?

I just left my phone in the movies...and now they are closed!  how do I contact location services to make sure it is still there?

If you were running iOS 5 or higher, had enabled iCloud and Find My iPhone before losing it, you can go to icloud.com on your computer and try to locate it as outlined here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442.  If it's turned on, still has Find My iPhone enabled, and has a connection to the internet, it should appear on the map.
If you didn't enable Find My iPhone before losing it you won't be able to locate it.

  • How can I get location services to stay on inside?

I have a WiFi iPad 2 w/iOS 8.1.  I want to use PayPal Here that requires location services in my nursery.  It works fine outdoors but inside our metal buildings with metal roofs the location services do not work (and PayPal Here does not work) even though I am still connected to our WiFi network.  PayPal support is no help.  How can I get location services to stay on inside the buildings?

You need to have the iPhone in your posession to alter that setting. That is something you should have done before it was lost.

How to find the location service??

new File("winmysqladmin.exe");This creates a File object that refers to a hypothetical file called "winmysqladmin.exe" in the current working directory. It is quite possible that there is no such file, that is why File has an exists() method.
If you want to search the entire file system for a file, you have to do just that -- search. Start looking at the API documentation for File. You will find a static listRoots() method that gives you an array of the root directories of available drives. You will also find methods like isDirectory(), which tells you whether a file is a directory, and listFiles(), which gives you an array of files in a particular directory. Then you have to search the directory trees recursively, bearing in mind that you may encounter more than one file with that name.

  • How do i enable locations services, after originally not allowing?

how do i enable locations services, after originally not allowing?

You have to go enable it under RESTRICTIONS first if you chose against it to begin with.... then you can alter it in the other places... So go to restrictions first, enable it, then you can go to the other places... like the icloud menu > share my location > enable it to share where you are.... or Privacy > Location Services > On.
I think a big problem is you might have it on in one place and then not others and there are different menus for different places instead of just ONE place to enable any and all location settings.  That is what Apple does badly, they have too many settings split up between different menus.... its confusing.

  • How can I stop my daughter from turning location services off from find iPhone?

how can I stop my daughter from turning location services off from find iPhone?

    Settings > General > Restrictions
Turn them on, go down and tap Location Services and restrict the ability to turn it off.
Or tell her if she turns it off again you will take the phone away and get her simple flip phone.

  • How to set up location services on ipod touch

how to set up location services on ipod touch

Go to Settings>Privacy and turn it on.
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. Thus, if the iPod does not know its location it appears that the iPod can't see a nearby router that is in Apple's database. Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.
You can confirm that by going to place with a know located router like Starbucks or McDonalds

  • If I Switch Location Services & Cellular Data Will I Be Charged by the Telcom?

Hi. Will I have additional charges from the cellular company if I switch ON the Location Services and Cellular Data. My SIM, my iPhone is prepaid, I'm not on a plan of any kind. My load credit seems to be consumed too fast and I was only doing very few local SMS messages. I only use wifi for the internet when I'm using the iPhone's Safari or the App Store or YouTube. My iPhone is the 3G (I hope to buy version 5 this October hopefully if it's has significant updates). Thank you in advance. Recommendations to solve this load credite being consumed too fast are welcome.
How about push notification? Does it add to cellular charges.
    Gbu,
    Alvin

If you switch on cellular data and you use safari, YouTube..etc on the cellular network....Yes your are using data.  Hence you are being charged for it.  Some apps use location services .  If that is so then yes it needs to use cell data to track you.  Push notifications as well. Not sure on the 3G depends on iOS version ... Been awile since I've used it..but I know on my iPhone 4 you can turn on and off location services for particular apps.

  • How do I enable Location Services on my ethernet-only MacPro?

My MacPro only has an ethernet adapter, which is connected to my AEBS.  I would like to "trick" my MacPro into using Location Services and setting the time zone automatically using the current location.  These options are not available because my MacPro does not have a WiFi adapter.
Is there a way to force Lion to turn-on these services in a way that is like to forcing it to enable AirDrop (defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1)?  Is there some plist file that I can modify?

There is no way it is going to work as the WiFi signal must be registered in a database of known SSID/Location information. The location service has to "sniff" the local WiFi signals and see if they are in the database, then set your location based on what it sees. Without a WiFi card, it has nothing to "sniff." As far as I can tell, there is nothing in the base station firmware that would perform that trick and send the information out to the wired connections.
How often do you move your Mac Pro around between different time zones?
