how do i switch my itunes from my old computer to my new computer with out losing my info like playlists and apps?

I'd suggest following this apple doc to a T: ^.^
iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

it will backup your Libary file, which contains all of your playlists and what not. Good luck ^.^

How do I switch my photos from my old IPad to my new IPad?  I tried to use ITunes but it would not accept the new IPad.

If your device is Not recognized, try these suggestions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1852
Copy all content to your computer, including the photos taken with your old device, explained in this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
You'll have to use iTunes to copy the photos you imported to your computer to your new iPad again.
If the photos are not part of the camera roll, you'll have to use 3rd party software to copy them to your computer.

Moving your iTunes library to a new computer

  • How do I move my iTunes from my old PC to my new G4 17"

How do I move my iTunes music from my old PC to my new G4 17".

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your devices sync with a photos folder you will need to copy this over and update the settings on the photo tab to point to the new location.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • How can I copy my iTunes from my old pc to my new MacBook?

    Hi!
Just a quick question; I have just picked up my new MacBook & wish to copy my iTunes library over from my old pc (a 8 month old Dell with Windows Vista). Is there a simple way to do this?
Ideally I would like to keep the iTunes library on the old pc as well because my wife will be still using the old pc. Is this possible?
    Many thanks

  • How do I transfer my iTunes from my old MacBook to my new MacBook Pro?

I've tried migration assistant, both over wifi and with the FireWire, and for some reason it's not working.  The new computer will recognize the old one, but the old one won't recognize the new one.  Is there any other way?

  • How do I get my itunes from my old PC to my new Mac?

I just switched from a PC to a Mac. When I plugged in my iphone my itunes account did not come up. How can I fix that?

Consider moving everything from your Windows PC to your Mac in a single move, including your iTunes library: About Windows Migration Assistant - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4796 - Learn about how to use Windows Migration Assistant to migrate your files from a Windows PC to a Mac.
Quick answer for just iTunes if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.
If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music  then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there.  (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

  • How do I transfer my iTunes from an old account to a new one?

I had an old computer (PC) that had an old iTunes account linked to it and now would like to transfer, rather merge my old purchases with my newer iTunes account which is managed by my current MAC... any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

You cannot transfer purchases to a different account.  Purchases are always tied to the account from which they were purchased.
Why would you start a new account?

  • How can I reformat my iPhone from my old PC to my new MacBook Air, without losing everything?

I just got my first Mac, and now I need to reformat my iPhone.  I don't want to lose all of my content.  My PC iTunes account uses the sample Apple ID as my MAC, so is it just as simple as plugging it into my Mac?

Use migration assistant for Windows to transfer all of your data from your PC to your new Mac:

  • How can I use back up from my old iPad  to my new one when one is iOS 8.1.3 and the new one is iOS 7.1.2. It not compatible on the screen of my new iPad

I Had several problems with my old iPad so I have now been given a new one.i have made a back up on iCloud with my husbands iPad bit now it's telling me on the screen that there are no iCloud backups are compatible with the version of iOS 7.1.2 on this iPad my husband has iOS 8.1.3. Which I am trying to set up from.
    what do I do?
    kathryn.

You can't restore to a backup that was taken on a device which has a higher version of iOS than on your iPad, you will have to update your iPad to 8.1.3 to be able to restore to it
You should be able to update your iPad via Settings > General > Software Update
